Faber showed great heart but terrible strategy. He should have been shooting or trying to instigate scrambles from the get-go instead of trying to strike. By the time he figured out that he wasn't going to out-strike Jose his leg was fucked up and his base was destroyed.

I wouldn't count Faber out at all. His last fight to Brown went to a decision after Faber had broke his hands in like the 2nd round. If you can fight three rounds with broken hands and not get finished by Mike Brown of all people, you're pretty damn tough.
I like both fighters and it saddens me to know one of them will lose and not have the title. I honestly don't think Urijah stands much of a chance. Sorry but Jose has a longer reach and cleaner striking. Urijah isn't going to be able to close the distance like he did on Brown. The odds are against Urijah for a reason.

Then on the 2nd time, with one hand BROKEN, and the other injured in the first round. However to count Faber out is a big mistake. He is super fast and unorthodox, which will tend to make Aldo more cautious. Aldos biggest strength is his speed. If you slow him down and make him think that will cause him to be less effective.

It is def gonna be a good fight. All of you who are saying that mike brown overpowered urijah in both fights are wrong though. The first fight urijah looked good until he got CAUGHT with a shot. Teh second fight urijah fought with a broken hand for FOUR rounds and I think it could have gone his way on another day. This is gonna be a great fight though and there is no doubt about that. @the06luvaboi Have you forgotten that Faber has subbed like 5 BJJ black belts in his MMA career? The man is brilliant on the ground.. absolutely brilliant. Assuncao and Curran's grappling is far superior to Aldo's, and they got subbed.

LOL, Faber lost twice to Brown, who was RAPED by Aldo. Even Brown said if all his money was on the line he's taking Aldo. Aldo will end up going down as the GOAT. Won't go further than 2 rounds count on it.

yeah Faber lost twice but the 2nd one was with two (2) broken hands, and he still didn't get knocked out or submitted!!!!.....pretty impressive lost if you ask me, never seen that happend in the history of MMA

@mannyac82 I'm pretty sure that if Faber didn't injure his hands in the second fight, he would have washed Brown - but that's only speculation. With that being said, I'm fairly confident that Faber will beat both Aldo and then Brown and cement his legacy as GOAT. He's going to submit Aldo, I think.. either way, it's an epic fight.

@mannyac82 yeah its true Faber did loose twice to Brown. 1st time with an unorthodox spinning elbow move that failed. Then on the 2nd time, with one hand BROKEN, and the other injured in the first round. However to count Faber out is a big mistake. He is super fast and unorthodox, which will tend to make Aldo more cautious. Aldos biggest strength is his speed. If you slow him down and make him think that will cause him to be less effective.

@mannyac82 Okay so what. Mma has trios of people who fight and one can beat one guy but not the other. This has nothing to do with who's gonna win the fight, in mma you can't make comparisons like that.
Although I do think Aldo is going win and I think he's going to win fairly easily if you ask me.

jose aldo is a beast 145 lbs, but the knee at 0:28 is definitely ILLEGAL. he should stay calm in those situations and not just throw knee's if the opponent is still with one knee on the ground.

you're wrong. one knee on the ground is enough to make it illegal. hell, even if both knee's are NOT on the ground, _one_ arm down is enough!
watch more ufc / wec, both have same rules and it happened countless times where one knee was on the ground and the ref / commentators were clear it was ILLEGAL.
dont get me wrong, i dont hate him, but promoting an illegal knee is just wierd and shouldnt be done.
the exact rule is: "Kneeing the head of a grounded opponent. " is illegal.

@hanshoz OH - you know what else especially pisses me off? No knees allowed to the head in the north-south position. That is such a GREAT position to work for, but then there is no pay-off. How can you NOT throw a knee to the head in N-S??? If you can't do that, then what is the point of gaining this position which has been deadly in PRIDE? Knee a shoulder? Stupid.

Aldo 1st round k. Aldo is way to fast he's like a 145lb Anderson silva urijah will get his belt back when aldo goes to 155 and moves to the ufc but urijah is still one of the best though. Hope he fights bj after Edgar that would be a super fight.

It is def gonna be a good fight. All of you who are saying that mike brown overpowered urijah in both fights are wrong though. The first fight urijah looked good until he got CAUGHT with a shot. Teh second fight urijah fought with a broken hand for FOUR rounds and I think it could have gone his way on another day. This is gonna be a great fight though and there is no doubt about that. Personally, I am hoping faber gets the belt back but I also have tons of respect for aldo.

I don't think anyone can beat Aldo right now. Of course fights are not transitive, but remember Mike Brown totally overpowered Faber- twice. Jose Aldo overpowered Mike Brown to take the WEC title. Faber's primary asset is speed.. and Aldo is faster. Being a fellow Californian, I would love to see Faber win. I just don't think it's possible.

I just want to say this will be a great fight. The two are evenly matched no offense to Aldo but I'm for Urija! This is his comeback and he'll do great.
