Basically makes people think to themselves "that's not true", "oh that's horrible" etc. In a strange way it's noble. You just can't see passed the ignorant character she plays. If anything you have a problem with Comic Relief as an idea, and well, I can't help you there. It's a good cause.

If you're a bit more thoughtful then the irony or satire is clearly a tool to expose folly in our culture -- which can reveal a message. But either way, it just makes us take a step back and think more about things.. that's really what all satire does and a lot of comedy or art for that matter. There may be a message but some people will agree or disagree. the important thing is the conversation and awareness it inspires.

Basically makes people think to themselves "that's not true", "oh that's horrible" etc. In a strange way it's noble. You just can't see passed the ignorant character she plays. If anything you have a problem with Comic Relief as an idea, and well, I can't help you there. It's a good cause.

If you're a bit more thoughtful then the irony or satire is clearly a tool to expose folly in our culture -- which can reveal a message. But either way, it just makes us take a step back and think more about things.. that's really what all satire does and a lot of comedy or art for that matter. There may be a message but some people will agree or disagree. the important thing is the conversation and awareness it inspires.

All books are media, art is media, theater is media, lectures are media, the internet is media, etc. It's all just human conversation in various forms - usually entertaining forms since most people have short attention spans. What other efficient forms of sharing ideas are there? why is it bad that they help engender discussion?
