I watched these guys lump their own equipment into The Independent in SF back in '09.
They are freakin' TERRIFYINGLY good live, and they play every show like they're auditioning for the big leagues.
Just a bunch of good ol' boys from AL who are at the top of their craft. Do yourself a favor and go see them. Jason just toured with Ryan Adams and his exposure level is on the rise. I hope he never loses the fire.
Someone must have missed the story about the Titanic, when the captain said,"Not even God Himself can sink this ship". Well, when you use God's name in vain like it's no big deal, you're setting yourself up for failure...
Repent... respect God, or reap the consequences (Exodus20:7)...
this is one bad ass band live, i have seen A LOT of live acts, these guys are pros and just a great combo of blues/rock/Alt Country. Saw them in Santa Fe a week ago, i also chatted with Jason outside for a few minutes, very approachable guy.
GO SEE THIS BAND IF YOU GET THE CHANCE - none of these videos on youtube capture how good their sound is.
Love DBTs, going to see them in a week and it wont be the same. What a huge hole he left , still love em but they are only half the band they were without him. Its songs like this , Danko Manuel, Dec Day, Outfit etc, these are brilliant songs that hes gotta be proud of. I hope he shines as a solo act, he has it all. Good luck to you Jason.
Nice. Thanks for posting this. He reminds me so much of the musicians I grew up around. Just a down-to-earth ol' boy, writing about what he knows, and doing his best every night. Bravo!
Someone on here compared Jason to Ryan Adams. Don't get me started on that derivative twit. :-/
I think were going to see alot more from this prolific songwriter in the near future.I love and respect artists of this caliber isbell ryan adams etc.
One of my favorites. I loved Jason best of the DBT's especially love this one. Excellent live. If you can go see him and the 400 unit live, do it!! You will probably get to meet Jason and/or one of the guys in the band. In a couple of years you will be saying you met him a few years ago to anyone who will listen and telling them what cool guys they were...
i missed this band on tour, but i love the cd. RUN out and buy "sirens of the ditch" right now. i play it almost every day, and i have had it for a while. I agree with gamjam, his transformation is amazing. i hope he is around for a long time. great songs, great performances.
Mr.Isbell is on his way to being a superstar. This is a fantastic CD. Do yourself a favor pick it up. I now konw why he had to depart ways with the Truckers and I'm glad he did.

In a world full of Brittneys and other pure musical crap, I'm glad this guy is writing amazing songs that are works of art.

I had a quick chat with Jason after this show. He's friendly and humble, just like a performing musician should be.

I play this song for anyone who will listen, I've gone to sleep with it on repeat to learn it. Indeed one of the best songs EVER written.
Much Respect, Jason.
I'd give you my guitar if I ever meet you.
