This song shot up the charts here in Iowa I remember.Got alot of airplay. Unlike Mark Lindsey's Arizona song Minnesota is really about the state.

I've never understood why this gem wasn't a huge hit. A station in Rochester, Minn. used to play this song every Friday at 5 PM in the '70s and '80s as a kickoff to another Minnesota weekend. Brings back great memories of the carefree days of my youth. If I could go back in time to 1975, I'd do it in a second. Thanks for posting!

Hi, again! If you want to catch "Saturday Night at the '70's" on WLTE, from Minneapolis, MINNESOTA, it's at 102.9, not 101.9. My bad. Also, I'm fairly certain the lines are "I've been a run-away, and I've seen my hoBo days..." I'm just sayin'. And finally (at least for now), I fell instantly in love with this song when I first heard it on the AM radio (was there FM back then?) even though I lived in South Dakota...I now live in Minneapolis :)
