The creatures that the Lich King surrounds himself with is very based on the norse. In Norse mythology, the Valkeries are warrior angels that fight in the name of Thor. Thats where the idea of those flying things behind him come from.

they are still apart of the Alliance/Horde, but you need to do ALL the DK quests in their starting area, the last quest gets you to break free from the Lich Kings grasp

Really? Because Blizzard said that Ner'zhul fused with Arthas.. they could have just said Ner'zhul took over Arthas. I'd say that Frostmourne corrupted Arthas' soul.. because if Arthas didn't have a soul, he wouldn't blink.. or have any emotion.. and clearly Arthas had alot of anger after taking up Frostmourne. There is only one being, Ner'zhul doesn't exist, neither does Arthas, all that's left is the Lich King. Which makes this voice a little dumb, but it's evil enough. Blizzard may change it.

On the ending Frozen Throne cinematic, Arthas' voice fused with Ner'zhul's.. and in Naxx the Lich King speaks, and it is again Arthas' voice fused with Ner'zhul.. I suppose the two fusing with each other makes them exactly like eachother, together they feel like they're the same person.. because they are. The bottom line is that Ner'zhul isn't dominent, neither is Arthas.. they're both the same person now.

The Lich Kings npc voice is that of the same voice actor who did Kel'thuzad. It's no wonder...he lended his voice for some other characters aswell in the warcraft games.
