yea really. the military doesn't exactly give their troops nice luxuriously cozy places to sleep and hang their guns. often times they sleep where ever they can find a comfy spot on the ground where they wont get nailed in their sleep. now as for the actual show i have no clue but i doubt it considering he's already been there and theres no reason to do it over for a show. lol

Bear has climbed Mount Everest and served in the British Special Forces I would say that counts for something. Most of the things he does do actually contribute to his survival, thats not to say that he doesnt do some silly things. However you cant spot that most of the things he is doing are helping him survive because you have, as you would say, "...NO experience actually living in the wild...".

kids trained to make fires and put up tents could survive better than a man who has had comprehensive survival and medical training. I would love to see your beloved scouts trying to fight off a bear, snake or any other large predatorial animal. Bear would have one hundred times more chance of surviving than a pre pubescent kid. ..and being fit im sure all survival experts will tell you, is basicly the biggest factor in outdoor survival. As i said earlier having combat training would also be extremely usefull, not just for protecting yourself. Combat training involves vigorous exercise and lifing of heavy weights, resulting in increasing your core strength. A strong person would stand a much larger chance of survival than a small scrawny person. Anyway, I think thats enough for now, so lets see what you come up with eh?

A large, physically fit, strong man like Bear would have a much higher chance of survival in a life or death situation like that. Only some indigenous groups have evolved to be small and wiry. Many are large and muscly. African Americans are decendants of Indigenous peoples and African Americans it can be hypothesized, are geneticaly larger and stronger than caucasians.

He doesnt talk about or claim that his survival techniques would keep you alive for months. He always talks about how people are rescued after a few weeks at the most. Im also 100% sure that in series one possibly episode 2 or 3 he built a bow and arrow, a fishing rod and a fishing spear. Alot of the climates he is in it is nigh impossible to start a fire and frankly if you hadnt eaten for days you wouldnt really want to spend time lighting a fire to eat.

He speared the fish which is easy to learn but difficult to do. If you ever want to spear fish, always fish for food because you can't release the fish afterwards. How to do it? Grab a stick, make it pointy, simply put. A few other things you could do to the stick but not terribly necessary usually.
