  • Your "entrance" into Omote Gyaku seems kinda wierd (see 1:21 ). Shouldnt you be moving to the right instead of to the left? Since you want to take the balance of your opponent and aim for his "weak point in balance" when doing the twist (gyaku)?

Thats what i have been taught at least, please enlighten me :)

  • @Kowuswe oh yes, I have figured it out since then. I posted this to learn what I was doing wrong, and to be able to watch myself. Plus the camera never lies, I am go glad to be able to get feeback from others like yourself. You are correct. Thanks for watching friend.

  • Hey man I have been studying Bujinkan for 3 months now. These videos are awesome! Can you keep them up atleast for awhile? :):)

  • @Reido2828 yes I will, but I am not that good. But thank you for watching friend.

  • Your application of Hon-Gyaku at 3:32 was the only one mostly correct. The others were variants of Take-Ori. It should also be done more towards the Uke's side so as to be out of range of his other fist.

  • Awesome awesome awesome. Keep posting guys!

  • Como e bom ver tanta gente que partilha esta soldável forma de vida.Um aluno do sistema T.D.C.U. e do grupo U.P.C. Ovar. Portugal. 2ºDan

  • Ok so, you say you are not a black belt in this art. but you are clearly teaching the Kihon Happo to this young gentleman. I didnt know you where certified to teach the Kihon Happo, last time i checked you had to be a 3rd dan (shidoshi) to teach this method. hmmm something isnt right. oh and why isnt this young man wearing a black belt i am sure that is his goal to earn one.

  • @behumble098 ouch bro, well I wanted to make a video showing what I do know. So I can get feedback not a bunch of shit like this. I wanted to explain to my friend what I am going to do or try to do. Yeah I am not a black belt I am just a ninjer.

  • @ShinobiMystic I'm no black belt either, but heck, I learn what I can.

  • @behumble098 i believe that Shinobi Mystic is "certified to teach the Kihon Happo" by the tradition of "who made you boss" honestly. Nobody needs permission from anybody to share their knowledge. off the high horse and back in the real world duuuude.

  • @dupisha I agree totally. A tradition is something you create right?

  • I look forward to seeing the rest of the Kihon Happo

  • Hon gyaku can be done easier but I'm sure you'll learn that later. Just meaning you don't have to twist the wrist you use the technique.

Omote gyaku you aren't doing right. You are supposed to use the lead hand to do the throw not the rear hand like in Ura. It is about hand work not foot work.

  • @KageAoi No itz not at all about hand work.LOL Then thats arm jutsu. Its all about footwork.Do u train in bujinkan or any japanese martial arts? And what is ur rank?Ur footwork gets in the rite places n spaces 2 do these arm or wirst locks.Hatsumi Sensei can`t stress it enough.MOVE UR FEET!!!

  • Nice thorough video. Sorry to be picky though but hon gyaku is not part of the kihon happo. It's omote, ura gyaku, ura gyaku tsuki, musha dori and gan seki. Then ichi monji, hicho and jumonji no kata. Check out hatsumis latest book. But otherwise great stuff basics are key :)

  • your stepping the wrong leg back while doing omote gyaku, though you can do it that way, in training you should do it the other leg back then you get a more fluid body movement and it becomes more one motion instead of the chopyness

  • Good work by the way. You've come a long way these recent years.

  • Hey just something that really helped me get my kamae solid and to have better, safer footwork... When doing any technique or movement for that matter, keep in mind to be in a real kamae in all times.Of course you will go from one kamae to another. That's the whole point. This will allow you to always have a guard up and be away from the uke's following attacks,to be in a safe position.I find very helpful when dealing with larger ppl.A good kamae is a good shield, but don't be static in them. Ty

  • use an uke who reacts on your lack of control! otherwise you'll never learn how to move properly in any situation. you didn't brake ukes balance at any time. you rely on the pain caused by the locks wich is not a good idea. keep going and train honestly.

  • @gooryu alright I understand thank you friend.

  • Also, how would you counter this if they used both hands?

  • @sc4rzpur3 oh just choose one. And you might want to do a different technique.

  • Could you make a video of disarming people who are using a knife?Make your oponent just pretend he has one and do it in real time and then slow it down so we can see how its done, ive been looking for a vid like this but i cant find one.

  • @sc4rzpur3 Yeah I can do that friend.

  • good vid mike thanks for sharing

  • ha good technique when i was taught the ura and omote gayku i done different foot work then what you displayed in this video. then we started moving on to different way of the foot work and how moving different ways can effect your oponent.. nice technique

  • kihon happo is so fun. soon you will know 20 different version of omote gyaku. and from many different attacks and trapping the feet and adding all strikes. the kihon is so important. sanshin and kihon and rolling and mutodori unarmed sword avoidance. it is the key to all budo. good work. keep working taijutsu basics. they are key. havent talked in a bit. hope all is well mike. i loaded my biggest project video yet. 20 min long. 2 parts. survival video. if you watch it watch part 1 first. peace

  • Something doesn't seem right about the techniques... It's probably just the exaggeration and breaking down of the technique for instructional purposes...but my eyes aren't trained very well so I wouldn't make anything of my comment if I were you haha.

Really good video though. You guys are the perfect distance from the screen most of the time. I also like your use of music to block out any the instructions haha. My teacher's done that as well with some videos.

    Who did you train under?

  • @ncphillips19 -really maybe I am still new to them.

  • So great Mike. You are an excellent teacher and entertainer. You get a lesson while getting a great show. Awesome work on the Kihon Happo.

  • cool skills bro

  • @Paullugg Thanks bro that makes sense to me.

  • whats up my Bother? How are you doing? And oncd again great video. And helpful... you would not know a way to heal Quiler form Carpat Tennow would you?

  • @SuburbanNinja8000 Quiler form Carpat Tennow???? No sorry bro. I am doing well I hope you are too. Just hanging out and working out.

  • Thank you Mike, my friend! I like to think you have made this video on kihon happo because of me. By the way, I must say that the vids you have found for me on this helped me a lot in my training and understanding these moves. I am not far now from mastering all of these 8 techniques and these vids you are posting now on kihon happo will surely help me understand it better:). Again, thanks a lot, bro. Keep up the good work :) take care, friend! bow

  • @Arkkanthos yeah that is one reason, just like Hatsumi says to keep practicing.

  • yep, practice makes perfect! :)

  • Now that im training taijistu this is gonna help me alot! thanks for the vids mike...keep em commin!

  • great video bro it show no matter tall or big the enemy is thay will go down hard i love it make

  • comprate una vida, puto!

  • Very nice Mike 5 stars nice body movement I enjoyed this video

  • @DTGtaihojutsu Thanks bro. I am working on developing taijutsu.

  • Awesome ! The hand control techniques are my favorites , thanks for uploading this tutorial on wrist control .

  • @VickThorrable I am glad there is more on the way.

  • Nice!

But i have a question: Am I not supposed to step back while doing the last omote gyaku part? You seem to only step toa side.

    Thanks

  • @Obiwan198 When you step into position they should be starting to loose balance hanging on to you. There is a difference I will be working with these locks more and more. If i can't explain it here.
