  • Check out ( JOHN MCCULLAGH "ILL DANCE ON YOUR GRAVE MRS THATCHER".........on youtube or myspace, well worth a listen

  • i wished there were more people like him in this world, many are being manipulated by fear and lies, obeying and forcing others to obey.

  • True. Fear is one of the best ways of controlling people. Give them an enemy to fear and they are yours to control. It used to be 'communists'. Now it's 'terrorists' or 'illegal immigrants'.

  • So terrorists and illegal immigrants are a figment of the media's imagination then or are you just talking your usual left wing ,middle class bullshit?

  • errr no. I didn't say they were made up just that the threat they pose is exaggerated.

How many acts of terrorism have there been on British soil involving Afghani terrorists.

I'll give you a clue. It's not a big number.

But let's not let that get in the way of pretending to justify the invasion and attempted occupation of Afghanistan.

It's funny when you get the "left wing ,middle class" line. It shows you can't actually form a sensible argument and have to start clutching at clichés.

  • Afghani terrorists hijacked a plane that landed at Stansted in 2000 , in answer to your pathetic question.

  • Congratulations. You Googled the answer. Which is of course 1.

Next question. How many US funded acts of terrorism have their been in the UK. These ones actually resulted in people getting killed. The answer is more than 1.

Strange we never did get around to starting a "War on terror" and invading the USA.

  • So you don't fear terrorists in this country many of whom have entered the country illegally? Are they a figment of war mongers imagination?

  • No. My chances of being killed by a terrorist are almost zero but obviously they have gone up a fair bit since the wars started.

I've got a higher chance of being killed by a super bug in a dirty hospital or being run over by a drunk driver. Neither of which is getting much attention from the Government. Certainly not billions of pounds/dollars.

  • @regvarney They exist sure, but are they really worth 'fearing' on a daily basis? In the words of Public Enemy; Don't Believe the Hype

  • "We speak for everyone in the world"?????

Keep your feet on the ground there Tony. Everyone? Really?

Stand for election then, as leader of the Labour Party. Stand again... you know the drill... you did once before, and you lost.

  • Why would he want to lead a party of war mongers and liars?

  • Yes, he was talking about speaking for "everyone" (5 billion out of 6.7 billion people in the world) when he was speaking out against the war in Iraq.

  • Yes, I believe what he means by "everyone" is millions of willing people from all walks of life, people of different nationalities and races and religions. It's not about standing for some narrow "Labour Party" or something, but something bigger; mankind! Mankind is not about some teeny weeny little narrow minded political parties. Its about mankind.

  • You clearly don't know how the Labour Party works. There were those who would rather see a Tory Victory than see Benn as party leader. They had to pull out all the stops to prevent him.

  • Nice one Tony Benn. I've always been a fan!

  • For a politician he talks bundles of sense, love to hear him speak.

  • awesome

  • Tony Benn has done wonders for the Conservative party and for that I'm grateful.

  • I don't think you'd be saying that if the Labour Party really began to live up to its historical mission. As an American, I can tell you that conservatism is nothing but rubbish. It's just useful for demagogues. I was taught one thing when I was 4 or 5 by my grandpa: "Everything Ronald Reagan says is bullshit."

  • tb4911 - when he goes? Its what he argues that lives on: democratic participation!! That is what we must be involved in. But yes a great man. Chomsky too. Benn and Chomsky - Chomsky and Benn: an alliance we ca nbe proud of.

  • Benn's better than Chomsky. He's a much better politician, with much better thought out plans for socialism.

  • Ah, Tony Benn...the man, the legend. It'll be a very sad day when he goes.

  • I love the way this man speaks. He opens peoples minds.
