I love the first 2 seasons. Cyril was definitely one of the best third men. It's sad Michael Bates died when he did. He doesn't get enough credit or respect for being one of the original trio members.

this first series is superb - i have learnt MORE about the three characters in this series than watching the future episodes.

Even though I'm not a big fan of Cryil I still enjoy watching these older shows. It's like watching your kids grow older (only these guys start out middle age and get really old).
