  • Must be a melancholic remembrance.

Perfectly expressed with this wonderful little piece of music!

You can feel the surge of emotion.

And yes - it works fine if you use it while looking back to your own past.

  • My favorite bands are Deftones, Chevelle, Tool & NIN, and I love this!

  • This is just such an evocative piece. It reminds me of my Muse, Dahlra. He is gentle and beautiful and deep, like this song.

  • i remember miss clare

  • I remember when I saw my dad for the first time after my brother died...this instrumental was playing in the background. Something about it was expressive...but in a much needed beautiful way, not in an utterly depressing way.

  • beautiful story Clare

  • I love Enya and this one Miss Clare Remembers will forever hold a very special place deep within my heart because my name is Claire and someone that lived 5000 miles away from me one day 3 years ago played me this song when we first met and he told me to close my eyes and forget about everything and just let the music take me away and to this day even though he is no longer part of my life I will never forget him or this song and how he helped me and the love and light he shared freely with me x

  • ta bueno soy argentino... esta wuenashion la mushikeishion

  • I absolutely love this piece, it's one of my favorite instrumental songs by her. She is truly amazing. Thank you God for Enya :)

  • I wonder who Miss Clare is. Enya's music is very inspiring, sometimes I build entire stories around her songs.

  • @zimnomel I think it is from a book title by the British author "Miss Read." Dolly Clare was a village schoolteacher; they are good books, you should read them :)

  • @honestabe1991 Wow, thanks! ^^

  • @honestabe1991 Yes, in fact Enya is a huge fan of the Fairacre stories, and another similar piece called 'No Holly for Miss Quinn' was also named after a Miss Read book. You're right, they are definately worth a read if you have a fondness for English village life, and I think Enya's two pieces really capture the simplicity and tranquility of the stories :)

  • @tjf4375 I'm so glad someone else reads the Fairacre books. I actually started reading them when I was twelve or so. Now I'm a college student and I still like to relax now and then with one of the books from the series.

  • @honestabe1991 Cool! Yeh I don't read an awful lot I must admit, but I like the Fairacre books. I don't know if it's the way she describes everything in such detail, or the leasurely pace, but I find it's like being whisked out of this stressful, complicated world and traveling back in time to an oasis of calm! If only life was still like that :)

  • i've been listening to this song since i was 10 and is still love it

it touches something deep down inside of me ... it takes me to a faraway place

  • i'm learning how to play this song :)

  • It is true that she commited suicide long time ago ? and that's why she hasn't appeared on public ?

  • @Eghto no, don't warry, she's alive! :)

  • everytime I take a seat behind a piano, I play this song once at least ..... amazingly beautiful and deep

  • I believe this song is called Waterfall

  • Who is Miss Clare?

  • Remembering what used to be, and what almost was.

  • Who is Miss Clare then? Anyone?

  • @balloydspiritsoul Me! My name's Clare (:

  • enya forever:) he angel

  • a song so beautiful it doesn't need words...i can put this on repeat and never tire of this...

  • A favourite of mine to play :3

The melody is simple and fun, lots you can do with it.

  • Was listening to this the night I told my wife that I loved her...remember it like it was yesterday. By the way, we're still together...and that was in 1995.

  • @lohandicap And may you always be together....

  • This must have been written with Dora Saint's book "Miss Clare Remembers" in mind.

  • @MariaAnnastasia Yes, along with its sister piece, 'No Holly for Miss Quinn' which appeared on the Shepherd Moons album. Enya has long been a fan of the books and was inspired by the simplicity and innocence of country life that was described in them :)

  • i used to listen to this song, and cry so much,it brings forth such deep feelings of nostalgia, sadness and of past regrets...it is so haunting....thank you Enya for your beautiful music..it stands the test of time...

  • Gosh...I need PEACE

  • i love this song it is sooo relaxing i listen to this while i go to sleep every night

  • many memories!

  • Som tiež Klára.

Posielam to ako spomienku Petrovi do Prahy.

  • I love Eithne's instrumental pieces. I love the way she performs them - it's so touching. Her fingers are led by her soul, not just the brains. Even w/o extra instruments involved...& her voice & its layering. A short and simple yet very powerful piece of music. A great composer she is. A great musician, arranger and vocalist as well. Ain't she a genius? --P.S. Yeah, I know that there are other great persons in music, Paul McCartney, for instance, but there's no other Eithne - she's the one.

  • @y0ugeen sorry, Eithne? (Enya? or are they two ways of saying the same name?)

  • @y0ugeen very well said - she wrote this piece, and she plays it with more soul than anyone else could ever do (in my opinion)

  • one of my favorite songs...

  • Eu acho que vou chorar...

  • I play this song at least 2 or 3 times a day. Maybe more. It's so simple and thoughtful. I also like to play in a music store I go to on the grand pianos. Oh, it's bliss.

  • excellent music

  • The 2 Enya songs "Miss Clare Remembers" and "No Holly for Miss Quinn" are named after 2 books ,of same name, written by Miss Read. A series of books have been written by Miss Read over the years. She still lives in England and is well into her 90's. I just discovered these books bought them all on amazon and am enjoying them immensley. The Enya songs fit them perfectly!

  • What are the books about?

  • It's a haunting song which brings back not very nice memories but is cathartic all the same.

  • One of the most beautiful songs ever...

  • 21 years after i'm still haunted by this marvellous music ! And always the same pictures comes to my mind : standing on a long beach, watching the sea.....

  • Amazing - really easy to play and yet so beautiful.

  • And you're probably an emotionless loser who wouldn't even cry at the world exploding, who is probably envious of such "saps". Good day. :)

  • I would like you to try this... As you're listening to this song, try to remember your childhood, not a specific moment, but some wonderfull moments that you surely had. You can almost see it in slow motion, can't you?... It makes you feel very good.

  • @mentiratrucho : )

  • @mentiratrucho EXACTLY mine imagination !!! ....you got it ....

  • The only piano piece I've ever been able to play all the way through, despite not knowing music at all. LOL And with some practice!

  • This is my 8th song to hear from Enya! Yay Enya!

  • I want to complement Enya (as well as Nicky and Roma Ryan) for their ability to present such tough musical concepts in a fun manner which people can enjoy.

I find myself wishing Enya had come into being 20 years before she did - maybe I would have taken my piano lessons more seriously.

  • What a beautiful song...reminds me of my one true love.

  • I love a girl called clare. Shes my soul mate :)xxxx

  • i love a girl called clare :) shes lovley :)

  • My name is Clare! :)

  • I loved a girl called Clare and then, years later, another woman I loved played this song and I burst into tears.

  • Very good NVanWendy. Beautiful!!!

  • tiene mucha sensibilidad este tema, es hermoso...

    OsitoGallagher

  • Can't you just see elderly Miss Claire, never married but having had a full life, looking through her letters and photographs? The memories they hold are often bittersweet, some of them nearly bursting with emotion; but overall, life has been good, and she has few regrets as she heads into her twilight years...

  • This kills me in the best way possible every time I hear it. A gorgeous, gorgeous piece of music.

Thanks for summarizing it so well.

    Best regards.

  • wish she would tour

  • She likely never will. She's always been very reclusive and has even said herself she is not into touring.

  • this is so suthing uguys should watch my vid too (if u want to)
