  • i get goose bumps everytime i hear this song....bob=good

  • guys brain is mold, this is garbage

  • timeless tune

  • During the 80's and 90's listened to Husker Du and then Sugar. Never heard about Bob Mould being gay and I could care less. So what? His music is great and much better than a lot of the tripe from the past to present day. BTW - there are probably more closet gays per square inch on a NFL or AFL football field than any other area of the world. Why do you think they keep patting each others asses? Bob Mould rocks gay or straight! People who don't like it can F off. Bigots really piss me off!

  • Black Sheets had some of Bob's best solo material on it imo. Well, it was put out as a solo. Probably the last cassette I ever bought too, BabyBeastie or it might have been Sugar's Copper Blue a few years later as the store had no CD's of it in. ty for posting another great bit of Bob, Shaxan.

  • @jacotango I just bought the mp3s from Amazon for about 7 bucks.

  • That was awesome, had no idea that he made a video for this.

Was he in Texas in the oil fields? Chained to a fence by a stars 'n' stripes bandana? Does it really go with the general theme of the song? Is the whole "It's Too Late" vibe about our carbon footprint? If so bravo for Bob. He was in there early. Not too sure about the bit where he was paddling though. And the necklace is superfluous, lose the necklace Bob.

  • My favorite song of 1990...

  • A gay guy wearing a shirt that says "cocks". How ironic!

  • I have watched Bob Mould since Husker Du....living in the midwest...we also had such bands as the Descendents or Bad Religion come around. This man has is together most of the time and if he doesn't, he's writing it down. A personal hero.

  • i love bob mould,he's one of my heroes, but a lot of his fans are major tight-asses. which is faintly ironic.

  • Black Sheets of Rain is on my "Dessert Island 10" list.

  • love this song but my favs black sheets of rain

  • Bob rules!!

  • I want this played a my funeral.

  • Sugar kicked butt

  • comment = being targeted

  • i don't care about hsi sexual preference.. he is a hell of a good musician.

  • Cheers!

  • The only thing that matters is he's one of the great musicians of our time.Gotta love him

  • are you for real?

  • you're an idiot

  • i wonder if there will ever be a husker du reunion?

  • His music comes from the heart,so simple and straight forward.Just love the melodies;makes you feel good inside.

  • I like Bob Mould and this song-- have the album... but it is a striking rip-off of Do Ya from ELO.

  • Put Bob Mould in the Hall of Fame. Put Coolio and Li'l Wayne in prison. And expose U2 for the overrated half baked pieces of shit they routinely throw at people.

  • LOL

This sounds too ordinairy for me though.

Very similar to "presidents of the usa"

  • Oblivious indeed. :-D

This album came out in 1991. It was two more years before PotUS even formed as a band.

I love the grunge thing, but Minneapolis should get credit for its great bands.

  • I stand politely corrected: BSoR was released in 1990. Month of May, I believe. Strengthens the point. :-)

  • Beautifully put! Stellar song! I'm so glad he lives in my hometown now!

  • @houstonveer yes!

  • Looking forward to the new CD.

  • I love the guy

    <3

  • A song that just picks you up.

  • Killer song from a killer album.

  • This & Tilted are my favorite Bob videos...

  • Bob- In darker times of my life, your solo tapes(Ha! tapes) were a big lift for me.

Godspeed to you and all your future ventures.

  • Bob...you rock dude.

  • this is great, but he isnt a god...

  • bob is one of my heroes - but this one does sound very much like do ya by elo!!!

  • don't forget,..."Changes" was the background music for all of MTVs coverage of the Clinton Bush (1) election......common theme these days?

  • thnkyou mtv for not playing more sugar or bob he is ours no one elses they cant have him.

just glad i moved to md bob plays all the time in dc only 50 mins from my house woot.friggin dreams do come true. thankyou oh dark lord for all you have bestowed upon me ..HAIL SATAN!

  • Black Sheets of Rain and Workbook are two of the greatest albums ever recorded. Fuck MTV for not playing Mould's videos more back in the day.

  • I so fucking want a Bob Mould Tony Maimone Anton Fier 1989-1990 show

  • GREAT! GREAT!

  • Bob Mould is the motha fuckin' diggity dang!!!

The #1 underrated musician of the 90's... & still to this day.

Yo Bobby, you're tops with me. Keep up the great work.

  • Sometimes Bob shows up at Cobalt bar in Wash DC on Fridays.

  • ya talk to him? he's so fucking cool...asked him about the necklace he's wearing in this video ( he wore it for years ) at the beaster show in d.c. in '93...a carnival token...

  • I think he's wearing a South Carolina Gamecocks t-shirt in this video. It just says "COCKS"- LOL!

  • HA! years before he came out...the man is a god...

  • huh? he was out in the husker du days...

  • well...no, he really wasn't. some of us knew, but he didn't officially come out till the mid-90's in the advocate. but whatever...i love him.

  • "black sheets" is the pinnacle of '90s alt/post punk...this album is a seething slab of psychadelic alienation...a journey into the darkest core of all of us...genius.

  • B-L-A-C-K S-H-E-E-T-S O-F R-A-I-N. Clear?

  • Do Ya, Do Ya want my love!

  • Exactly! I knew I'd heard that chord progression before!!

  • Someone please exhume any videos from 1989-91 shows! Mould/Fier/Maimone on "Black Sheets" epics at full power..

  • This song is still so "current." I feel like it relates to the politics of today as much as it did when the song was released.

  • Boy, I had forgotten how thin Bob was back in 1990! I had never seen this video before, but I do remember catching an incredible Black Sheets of Rain tour show at Bogart's in Cincinnati in 1990 ..... by far the loudest concert I've ever experienced. I remember my whole body being completely drained of energy from the sonic assault!

  • I saw him in San Francisco on the same tour. Wow, I still feel the adrenaline pumping through me at that concert.

  • I first heard this song in San Diego back in '95 and couldn't stop playing it over and over again, probably over 100 times, but then I lost track of it and, not knowing much about Bob Mould and not remembering his name, didn't know how to locate it... This is the first time I've heard it since then and it's as great now as it was back then: Probably'll listen to it another 100 times!

  • Caught his show last nite in Milw. Great show, played stuff from pretty much his entire career. Keep rockin' Bob !!!

  • awesome tune

  • tis is sooo bbbbbbbboooooooooorrrrrrriiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggg

  • A Song That's Still Can Have One Think About Our Present Situation With Politics And Earth. Check Out "A NEW DAY" By Killing Joke As Well.

  • Would you call this Pere Du or Husker Ubu?

Either way they sound really good together.

  • Is this a song about saving nature? Don't clobber me if I'm wrong please....; )

  • I think it's humankind in general.

  • I agree Blackwood 2805. This album rocks. All members are at the top of their game. The drummer is exceptional.

  • this album is top notch especialy the first song black sheets of rain

  • He's wearing that Gamecocks T because he wants everyone to know what he loves.

  • Little mind. Who cares about what his preference is, it should be about the music.

  • What do you mean? He's obviously a big fan of the University of South Carolina. There's no shame in that.

  • Didn't Bob Mould do "The Daily Show" theme?

  • Yep - Dog on fire.

  • omg - never knew this existed!!! I love Utube!

  • Is that the Sugar boys, Travis and David, playing in this vid?

  • Nope. They never gathered together before SUGAR.

  • Naw, it was Anton and Tony.

  • Bob Mould still matters

  • bob's the best. this album pales in comparison to Workbook, but this song rocks!!!

  • Bob's music has been a big influence in my guitar playing. Kind of minimalist in the chordings, but the feel of how he plays is awesome. I wish someone would post a video of "Black Sheets of Rain." He wrote it after a visit to a steel mill in Cleveland, I can relate to his experience of the shitty situation, because I live there.

  • 'Black Sheets Of Rain' was the very last pre-recorded music cassette I ever purchased. That was in 1990. Thanks for posting this video!

  • funny you should say that, cause for me it's too! only I bougt it last year, lol

  • My God, that was the last tape I purchased also! What a GREAT time for music!

  • Totally agree. What a time for music....

  • Me, too! I had to buy a CD player to play Sugar's Copper Blue.

  • is this on workbook?

  • ah, just watched it again and noticed that its not, lol :D

  • I've been looking for this for the longest time thanks for posting it! The 90's ruled. Brings me back to my college days....'90-'94...where the most amazing music was being thrown at you from all angles. Unfortunately the magic of the early 90's can never and will never be repeated. It was so nice to have been a part of it.

  • Much influenced by Spector's Wall of Sound...angst-ridden

  • Thanks so much Bob. Such a big part of my life buddy.

  • the guys a genius

  • this f'n rulz the tube

  • wut r you crazy? this sucks

  • the best song by bob mould, not husker du. thanks a bunch from korea

  • I've been looking for this for the last year, singing it under my breath wondering if I'd ever see it again. Thanks!!!

  • WoW!!!This is Excellent! Thanks for posting it, sure does take one back in time! a Great time at that!!!

  • Wholly smokes never seen this, thanx

  • Another Holy Crap response....HOLY CRAP!!! Boy does this bring back the memories. Right when this CD came out I was going through a rough time with a girlfriend. She was supposed to come over and listen to the new Bob Mould CD. That is when I found out she was cheating on me. This CD, with all the anger and "me against the world" attitude helped me out ALOT. I never saw the video though. I think I'm going to fire up that CD and play it LOUD!!

  • What an absolute classic, thanks so much!!!

  • i don't care if you just post the sound with a black screen, but i am DYING for a version "brasilia crossed with trenton." and "hoover dam." could you do it for a pretty girl like me? could ya?

  • This & Tilted are my favorite Bob videos...

  • holy crap.. where did you find this
