That beautiful gold medal performance at the 2010 Olympics should really have been the last time Kim Yuna did the 007 routine. As with any reputable rock star, you shouldn't pull off the same exact act from show to show... the novelty of "James Bond 007" just seemed like a torturous pattern of motions in the following 2010 World Championship, and Mao Asada's "Libestraume" suddenly appeared absolutely brilliant and more elegant than "007". For Kim Yuna, time was ripe for a change... thankfully!

@MisterBokeh i'm not making it up. it's pretty common with senior skaters who work very hard. i mean seriously, a lot of great skaters today does that a few times a day whenever another skater gets in the way. there's another example. me, and evan lysacek. i hear whenever we get on the ice with lysacek, we need to get out of his way cuz he gets pissed. i've kicked the ice a few times and yelled a few times at other skaters before nationals. and im not talking just about jumps, it's everything.
@MisterBokeh there's so many skaters that can do a triple lutz triple toe. i've seen girls with spirals that are 10 times higher and stretched than hers, and i've seen spins with greater speed and flexibility. she has the jumps and that great in all, but you need everything to be the best in the world.. especially young russian girls. and a girl in russia is doing triple axel. if yuna kim is the best in the world, i'd like to see her do spirals that are sasha cohen status & fast difficult spins.

Each skater will have elements in their skating that is stronger than another skater. Sasha is known for her spirals, spins and flexibility, but she sucked in her jumps. Yuna, she's got the jumps, spirals, spins, but sucks at being flexible. You understand now don't you?

@EscoIceSk8 I'm not a skater so I wouldn't know. I know there are plenty of talented skaters out there with superior flexibility, spirals, spins etc. I love the way Alissa Czisny spins so great! But there are other elements in her skating that I don't like, that doesn't mean she's a worthless skater. Yuna is in a tough spot. Reason people say such high praising things about her is partly the media. But I believe in my heart she is one of the greats. And there will be more greats after her.

@MisterBokeh yup. it's my easiest triple. flip is a bitch tho, since the olympics they had to change the rules on the flip. even if an edge is flat on take off, it's still counted as an edge change. so they are a lot more picky now

That beautiful gold medal performance at the 2010 Olympics should really have been the last time Kim Yuna did the 007 routine. As with any reputable rock star, you shouldn't pull off the same exact act from show to show... the novelty of "James Bond 007" just seemed like a torturous pattern of motions in the following 2010 World Championship, and Mao Asada's "Libestraume" suddenly appeared absolutely brilliant and more elegant than "007". For Kim Yuna, time was ripe for a change... thankfully!

kim yuna is simply amazing idk wut united states is gnna do to beat her...i thnk da only chance of them even beatin her is marai nagasu i thnk she is jus as good as kim but is young n needs to mature sum more on the ice then i thnk she cn do it..but it wud b tough!!!!

@xXSuJuNo1FanXx the haters are growing in LA. since she moved to michelle kwans rink, everytime a skater gets in her way, she kicks the ice and grunts. which is a disrespectful reaction. and kicking the ice and yelling isn't appropriate behavior among young skaters. i'd know, cuz i skate in LA

You probably don't even know what the name of the rink is that Michelle owns....all your doing is making shit up. Yuna Kim is probably one of the most respectful peoples in terms of being on the ice with other skaters. Just get lost, nobody here wants haters!

@MisterBokeh i've skated there. and it's a nice facility. but it could use a bigger parking lot. you don't have to buy my bs. cuz you don't live it. the skating community there is very close. and everyone knows who i am. except Yuna Kim, cuz i don't skate with her. i just hear great stories. there's nothing wrong with her. i'm just tired of people saying she's the best skater ever, which is not true. that insults every FS girls out there who can do what she can do.

@EscoIceSk8 I wasn't talking about you and your opinions on how great she is or isn't. I was referring to your statement about her tantrum on the ice....which I feel you are making that story up. Secondly, only other woman to do the fully rotated and perfect lutz ,triple toe combo jump was Irina Slutskaya. Skaters today can do lutz I'm not doubting that but not many can do it how Irina and Yuna can....fast speed and great height. And in MY opinion Yuna Kim is the best right now.

@MisterBokeh i'm not making it up. it's pretty common with senior skaters who work very hard. i mean seriously, a lot of great skaters today does that a few times a day whenever another skater gets in the way. there's another example. me, and evan lysacek. i hear whenever we get on the ice with lysacek, we need to get out of his way cuz he gets pissed. i've kicked the ice a few times and yelled a few times at other skaters before nationals. and im not talking just about jumps, it's everything.

@MisterBokeh there's so many skaters that can do a triple lutz triple toe. i've seen girls with spirals that are 10 times higher and stretched than hers, and i've seen spins with greater speed and flexibility. she has the jumps and that great in all, but you need everything to be the best in the world.. especially young russian girls. and a girl in russia is doing triple axel. if yuna kim is the best in the world, i'd like to see her do spirals that are sasha cohen status & fast difficult spins.

@EscoIceSk8 Well, since it is YOUR opinion, just an opinion I respect that. However I on the other hand feel Yuna's spirals and spins are just fine. You have to know something. Each skater will have elements in their skating that is stronger than another skater. Sasha is known for her spirals, spins and flexibility, but she sucked in her jumps. Yuna, she's got the jumps, spirals, spins, but sucks at being flexible. You understand now don't you?

@MisterBokeh i do. but i just want other people to know and appreciate that there are other skaters in the world that may feel insecure because many skaters today are being compared to her and to other skaters. seriously there's other great skaters in the world you just gotta look them up. and soon they'll start liking them a lot more than just one skater. how would you feel if you were compared to someone and you are a lot better at doing a certain element than they are. i'd feel inferior.

@EscoIceSk8 I'm not a skater so I wouldn't know. I know there are plenty of talented skaters out there with superior flexibility, spirals, spins etc. I love the way Alissa Czisny spins so great! But there are other elements in her skating that I don't like, that doesn't mean she's a worthless skater. Yuna is in a tough spot. Reason people say such high praising things about her is partly the media. But I believe in my heart she is one of the greats. And there will be more greats after her.

@Taylorswiftisnum1 look up elizaveta tukamysheva. triple axel and russian nationals 70's in technical elements. so many girls in russia have their triples at 13 years old. you'll be surprised

@MisterBokeh yup. it's my easiest triple. flip is a bitch tho, since the olympics they had to change the rules on the flip. even if an edge is flat on take off, it's still counted as an edge change. so they are a lot more picky now
