I bought an iPod Touch with Apple's back to school promo...got the 16GB version for $100. Not bad but I'd really like to have the external speaker for games and YouTube. Also, I'm sure someone else mentioned this, but the 1G iPod Touch does have the silver back unlike the iPhone.

i do like the new speaker function of the Ipod Touch, particularly for Podcasts you don't want to wear headphones to listen to, but if you're at the computer you've got a speaker setup to the comp already or would just run the pods from iTunes directly.

the volume buttons are great, becuse when listening to music, you don't have to take your touch out of your pocket and use touch to change the volume, you can physically change it by feeling for the volunem controls in your pocket without taking the thing out! im glad apple did this

without a stylus its not going to be a DS and without the gaming buttons its not going to be a PSP or traditional gaming system. Dirty fat fingers beware. I applaud Apple for doing games on the Ipod Touch...but I have a 2 year old flip phone that does games in gameboy advance quality. Uh...So why should I be impressed?

Sony "lack of Stunning success" is due to the [1] proprietary physical media and the contradictory attempt of Sony to also [2] sell Movies for It at a premium price (near DVD Price).

Apple doesn't sell [1], neither [2] for the MP4

Sony backpedalled to still sell physical media with games on It instead of using the avalaible growing in Size and falling in Price MemoryStick as temp storage for the PSP Games.

True that 1.6GB Games Download weren't as easily manageable then, but still...

Hello, good comment video. In my opinion, I also think it's an important improvement.. important enough to sell the old one and buy the new one?? YES. So to all of you who just bought your 1st generation Ipod Touch and keep denying yourselves that you don't need a speaker and volume.. well.. think again cause you do. (external speakers are a pain in the ass to carry around inside a case.. which generally there is only room for the device itself)

one reason to have a speaker on the touch, the gaming, who wants to be limited when gaming to headphones, also when web surfing and youtube surfing etc

unless apple have made those games exclusive to the ipod touch and they dont run on the iPhone i would just go iphone, the ipod touch feels so half baked to me without the phone feature, just my thought

You can always have a tiny phone to make and receive calls in you pocket while having an ipod touch on the side.. saving you hundreds of dollars.

iphone is very tick and heavy device to be lifting it every 10 minutes (phone call).

The only bad thing apple did with the upgrade of the ipod touch is the fact that now it has built in speakers, and i know a few people that wished the 1st gen ipod touch had that feature and that to me is a big feature, but lucky for me i have the iphone so it has all that already.

The touch and iPhone have a 650mhz CPU with 128mb RAM. The PSP has a 333mhz CPU with 32mb RAM.
