I don't think everyone watching this realizes it's just part 1 of 6, and that Peter is the author! Read the description he included for us (to the right).
I am behind in watching my Geriatric videos, Peter, but I'm so glad it's time for me to see these now. This has been a delightful way to spend a few minutes this winter night. Looking forward to part 2!
This is excellent, I think. I will have to enjoy it slowly, as I don't have the time to watch the entire thing in one go, especially today, as it happens to be Christmas. Time to start finishing up dinner now. Thanks for sharing all you do.
I remember this story from your earlier videos; you have a real talent. Will you be reading the one you wrote about the boy who had been kicked out of his home for drug use? A powerful story at this holiday time of year. For you viewers who haven't heard Peter's stories....well, you are in for a literary treat. A very Merry and rewarding Christmas to you Peter!
I await chapter two... rather impatiently, but I know it will be worth the wait :O) (I have heard you read this story ages ago when I first discovered youtube)... YOUR videos were my introduction to youtube. I recall watching every single one of your videos, one after the other, only taking time to sleep, etc. You got me hooked and now your reading aloud this story reminds me of why I fell in love with you. I enjoy this so very much XXOO
I've sent you a message earlier today asking for your paypal email so that I can send you a donation this christmas, however if you'd like me to send it through any other means, then just say.
My dad wasn't a drinker but my Mum was a Lancashire girl who's dad was. She often related how they would wait-up 'til he rolled-in from the Pub . . . and how they hoped that he was in a good humour when he finally arrived. Similar to your protagonist, I guess my own Mum only ever got to the coast, as a girl, if there was a Sunday School outing. Very moving. I look forward to hearing more.
Really wonderful, Peter. Although I wasn't born 'til '53, everything is totally familiar from my own childhood - the tin bath, the stone sink, the peg-rug and most-especially the bone gnawing cold of our bedrooms!
Your descriptions are so vivid I can see everything in my head as you read it. You write so good - I can tell that a lot of the things you describe are things you've experienced yourself.
I really, really like this and I can't wait to hear more!
