For me as a pianist, the wonderful thing about Yann Tiersen's music is how beautiful it is but simple to play at the same time. Compared to, for example, Chopin's Fantasie-Impromptu or even Claire de Lune, which are both beautiful pieces but took me weeks or even months to polish, Tiersen's music is MUCH easier to learn. That says nothing about the quality of the music itself - I am in awe of how many achingly beautiful pieces he has produced. Any aspiring pianists out there, give it a shot!
