    of the three republican presidents you used as examples, you missed something on 2 of them.

    The republican party has not always been conservative. Until the mid 1900s, the republican party was very liberal. Meaning that both Teddy Roosevelt and Abe Lincoln, if alive today, would be Democrats.

    For the third example, reagan was just a good president, no matter what party.

  • When i reached voting age, i cast my first ballot for Bush which i will regret for a very long time. They talk about personal responsibility, liberty, low taxes, but don't mean it. They don't mean it and they're just as collective as the communists. Even the "republican" words you used,superior strength and absolute victory, these are phrases used by fascists. John McCain voted against health care for orphans, and against MLK having a holiday 4 times. Not to mention he flip flopped on the Bush Tax Cuts, gay marriage, oil drilling and so much more.

  • lincoln was so conservative that he wanted to end the 200 year establishment of slavery... people don't understand that republicans back in that time were 'liberal' in the same way that democrats are today and vice versa. i'm sure if lincoln saw what has become of his party today he'd be ashamed, whether it be nation building, welfare for the wealthy, contempt towards the working class, its love of fear based politics and using already ostracized groups of people as scapegoats

  • Gladly. As I said in the video, I admire the principles of the great leaders I mentioned. John McCain has those principles. I believe that McCain can carry on the Republican legacy.

  • The issue here, of course, is that John McCain claimed great umbrage at Barack Obama's lighthearted comment that Bush and McCain would emphasize that "he doesn't look like all those other presidents on the dollar bills."

    But if John McCain thinks that comment was playing the race card, then why did he play it first? One month ago -- in late June -- a McCain ad superimposed Obama's visage on a one hundred dollar bill as part of an effort to mock his supposed 'presumptuousness.'

  • Mitch McConnell and his fellow Republicans have basically been filibustering every bill til the oil companies get what they want. But, surely, they wouldn't put the oil companies over America's defense needs when we're in the middle of two wars??? Wrong. They did. Seriously, they they filibustered a bill, S. 3001, the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2009, which, among other things, provided pay raises for troops, health care and protection from IEDs.

  • I'll take a third Bush term over a second Carter term any day. No wait, that's giving B.O. too much credit. At least Carter was a former govenor, businessman, and Navy vet.  B.O. was NONE of those things, he hasn't even served one full term in ANY office at all except for the state legislature.
