  • made by kids in vietnam!

  • @ed2000888 the amp that is!

  • rules are made to be broken what about bb king playing blues with his gibson? what about run to the hills and slipknot playing metal with strats

  • Is that les Paul a 59 tobacco burst reissue ?

  • Brutalized!

  • Mate thanks for doing this, not only is your playing awesome, but it shows how much better Gibsons/humbuckers sound than Fenders/single coils.

  • @BigJulieWasDead You must suck at guitar or be really inexperienced. Neither are better, they have specific uses. You would never use a single coil to play metal. The same way you would rather a single coil to a humbucker for bluesy stuff.

  • @xWOMBOCOMBOx

This sounds like "metal" to me. Spanish band called saratoga, not my cup of tea but you get the point.

    watch?v=ynocHBfwlfc

  • @xWOMBOCOMBOx Say that to malmsteen and bonamassa, no rules dude

  • @xWOMBOCOMBOx i agree but its also personal taste ! :)

  • @xWOMBOCOMBOx meh. you can really do whatever you want. this is coming from someone who plays a bunch of different styles and plays live.

  • Tele + Vox = WIN

  • don't like the amp, but his style is always top !!! LES

  • MADE IN CHINA?

  • @triplexchuck It sounds good, does it really matter?

  • The feedback on this amp sounds really good, how loud did you have it?

  • what are the main differences in sound between the handwired and and the ac30s that arent?

  • @flyhi94 handwired is the way to go in anything. heres a nice comp. what do you think gets a better tone...plugging your guitar into a cluster of effects pedals or just going straight into your amp? its the same thing in an amp. if you have abunch of circuits that everythings running thru, then it pulls from your sound. instead with handwired everyhing is the shortest cleanest route between everything in the amp. cleaner and louder sound....very nice

  • Andy you do love your tele's dont ya

  • Andy are the older heritage the same as the 2010 and up but with the hot switch, just got one there pretty nice

  • Does the Vox come with Mullard EL84s?

  • i did enjoy the review, but I've gotta comment on how massively overrated les paul tone is, far and wide.

  • @juanjosebol No, they're 65 Amps. Andy uses the 65 Amp Soho a lot in his pedal reviews.

  • does the 15 watt mode sound just like an ac15? does an ac15 just like a lower watt ac30, or do all three have their own distinct tones?

  • Hey man.... I'm interested in what song you play at 3:43..

    Please let me know..

    Thank You

  • Ok , when he plugged in the tele , i'm sold ...i'll take two ...cos the first will drown and short out in a week from drool .....so i need two thanks.

  • What is the best gear for the 70s style in your opinion???

  • cool amp but i was wondering if its possible to blend the channels like in a Marshall plexi

  • are those suhr amps behind him?

  • @juanjosebol I believe at least one of those are Andy's beloved "65 Amps Soho".

  • 6:27 - A couple seconds of tone heaven.

  • @charles1967 totally agree, then he had to add that nasty gain to it...

  • 0:23 to 0:28 , does anybody have that tab ?

  • @scribble619 I bet you can figure it out by yourself... c'mon...

  • @scribble619 runnin down a dream- tom petty

  • what is better? this or ac15htvh? thanks )

  • is this considered to be a boutique amp? Im thinking of getting one after christmas...

  • Now, I wonder wich one will come on top ? ..this heritage handwired or the new 2010 Handwired turret board ac30 ??

  • sounds like the chords to Badfish @8:53......cool sounding amp

  • lovely sound with the fender but wit the les paul its not so good , but i like this amp, really like..........

  • sounds very creamy...making my mouth water...BUTTTT..my Vox tonelab st sounds NEAR identical on its ac30 setting as this baby..still, having the real deal can never be beat,

  • Anyone know where this amp is made ?

  • @Chipwilliams77 China

  • Sounds worse than my JCM 900 (and my JCM 900 sounds awful).

  • @illavitar You cant compare this amp to a JCM 900. DIfferent tones. And no, this amp sounds great.

  • What's that little riff at the end 8:30 or so?

  • This should be called "VOX AC30 - Les Paul"

  • @jxd549 i thought that too when i clicked on it...., and was all "when he gunna swap for the tele?"

  • @luckyphilster Me too! HAHA!

  • @jxd549 No it shouldn't, thats definately a telecaster.

  • it'd be great for you guys to do a new review of the vox ac30cc2 :D

  • Where can I actually buy a custom classic, nowhere seems to sell them?

  • i love how you used a les paul for most of the video...

  • I will never be able to afford one of these, but I might be able to save enough for the CC1,or 2 version

  • The best Guitar/ Amp combo i've ever played is my Gibson Firebird through a Vox AC30CC. The mini humbuckers break the amp up so nice.

  • that dual pre-amp configuration is pretty sick.

  • hello. awesome demo.....what amp would u recomend for led zeppelin sound, this one sounds nice and i know that jimmy page used one....please help

  • @Guitar1hero23 I bet this would be just fine for it. Especially since it's real tubes and I think it might be reasonably priced. Musicians friend has a sale on it right now.

  • @Guitar1hero23 This would work good, but if you want to get the live sound, a marshall plexi model would be best.

  • I've got a question,

why isn't there something like a standard Vox ac 30 anymore?

I know there are the custom classics, but it surprises me that I can't seem to find a standard British made vox ac 30

  • That amp was made for a Telecaster.

  • This would be a great amp/speaker cab for me! I'll have to wait till my wife falls asleep and see what I can find in her purse!

  • This guy is a monster with delay pedals

  • you know what i love what pgs and their videos? they actually respond and joke around with their fans and or haters. hey andy you should break out the vox ac30 with some reverb id love to hear that.

  • I play U2, Radiohead, Audioslave, Matchbox 20, John Mayer type stuff. What is the best for that? How does the ac30 compare to Top Hat, divided by 13, Two Rock, Bad Cat, Hayseed 30?

  • Which Would You Recommend This Or The Fender SuperSonic Cause i can't decide between The Two of Them Because I want One That easily obtains a Classic Distortion Tone.

  • that Vox AC30 + telecaster = tone

  • @theillfrisch ac30 + rickenbacker = awesome tone too

  • There's actually an error in this video. This series from vox doesn't have celestion blue speakers, but vox blue speakers that are made in china by vox and it doesn't use the same cone (h1777) as the celestion blue

They older series from vox were just rebranded celestion blues but these aren't. The new series also has rebranded celestion blues with the right cone.

  • What Les Paul is this? Do you know what pickups it is running? Thanks!

  • I'm a bit sceptic about reliability of new Voxes and Marshalls... How's the production quality?

  • i find that comparing amps and guitars online doesnt work to well cuz one slight difference in setting changes the tone completely. i guess you can compare pedals though

  • Hi guys I just order the amp!

Does anybody know if the Heritage uses a Foot Switch? If yes which one?

O yeah and what distortion pedal is Andy using? sounds cool !!

    Thanks!

  • @knobcitymusic I own one and as far as I know it doesn't have a footswitch. Haha nothin' to footswitch really ;-)

  • @knobcitymusic: I'm not sure about the footswitch but the distortion is all coming from the amp...pure tube goodness!

  • Tom Delonge (The reason I picked up guitar in the first place) Uses this for his dirty sound, with the gain on 11. And I love this thing.

(He uses a Fender Twin Reverb for clean) with a Gibson ES-333. God it sounds good.

  • @Goth3m3

Apparently he doesn't, since AC30's do not have a gain knob.

  • @JIMMYJIBLETS AC30's with a MV do.

  • @JIMMYJIBLETS I guess what Hoth3m3 was trying to say was that DeLonge has his AC30's cranked up (as they should be) for his dirty sounds cause he has 2 of them and his Fender Twins (wich he also uses 2 of) for his clean sounds. I don't get why he doesn't just use one AC30 for dirt and another for clean cause to be honest, those Twins make his backline look crap.

  • @Goth3m3 I thought Tom used Dual Rectifiers

  • Hi Andy, a friend bought one of those, the day he did we went to a shop and we have tested an AC 30 too but this AC 15 did sound better (purer and with more fidelity). Why this could happened ? we used the same gibson 335 to test both and a similar configuration. The AC 15 is cheaper but better ? Thank you

  • awesome tele :D

  • Tele sounds great through this amp.......

  • @GNeuman Celestion Blues sound best with single coils. Chime chime chime!

  • i really like these vintage amps

but i think he is afraid of heights and hes allowed to park on handicapped parking spots

  • @VillanovaJunction11

I think you have long hair and just one egg

  • I just ordered the new Vox AC30c2x...and I cant wait to plug up my Music Man Saber 2....It sounds like a Paul Strat Tele all in one depending on where you set the switches...

  • wow great amp and his skills are stunning

but I think andy´s got a wooden leg

PS:Ive´got a gibson and a big fat fucking marshall amp

  • It's true. Andy's got a mahogany leg with a book-matched flame maple top.

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos

    Too funny.

  • Can i ask what mic you use for recording?

  • Yes, you may. Royer R121.

  • WOW! 1,5K for a mic.. o_x

I think i will go for Shure SM57. How can it be compared to Royer?

  • We used to use an SM57 for the old demos and it sounds very thin in comparison. I would look at the Cascade Fat Head ribbon mic for a cheaper alternative.

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos Another good choice can be a AKGC414, cheaper than the royer... and sounds great! ^^

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos That mic (Fat Head) actually gives the Royer a run for it's money!

  • @mazsenior - This is true. The Fat Head is an excellent and extremely affordable microphone. We are big fans of the Cascade ribbons.

    -PGS

  • @BlisterOnTheMoon it can't. If you can't get a Royer 121, don't bother buying a mic.

  • 個人の感想ですがVoxにレスポールは愛称があまり良くない、

    変にコモッているという印象を感じました。

    後、このレスポールもしかして安物でしょうか・・・・

  • Sounds REALLY nice with single coils compared to humbuckers in my opinion.

  • @johnnyleetone The AC30 is pretty much THE amp fot Tele's

  • agreed

  • that's a les paul

  • Whats a good tube amp thats good for blues but not to expensive.

  • Awesome tone.....

  • I have to admit it's a nice tone for soloing, but for the power chords and stuff, isn't it too bassy?

  • I don't see why not. That or a basic AB box will do.

  • I could see a reason why not.. For example the Marshall JCM 800 2203. You can't put a jack in both inputs and switch between them, only 1 will work.

  • Awesome sound!!!VOX AC 30 and Fender Telecaster are very good!Classic tone, great overdrive settings!!!I really like this amp, cause it's very good!!!

  • Nice amp!

  • I really like the tone of this amp better than any of the Marshalls ive heard tested.

  • @PrsFenderJackson1980

I am going to second @DDiGianni's comment on the ceriatone overtone special...that amp is MONEY for the blues (Musicians who have used Dumble amplifiers include: Carlos Santana, John Mayer, Robben Ford, Larry Carlton, Eric Johnson, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Ben Harper, Lowell George, Steve Lukather, Sonny Landreth, Jackson Browne, David Lindley and Dean Parks.) The best part is its right at a grand

  • Hi Andy i was wondering was overdrive pedal you are using if you are using one

  • hes not using pedals.. hed have said if he was

  • Looking for a Amp that can do Blues, but a decent rock sound. Looking to spend less than $3K altogether. I already have a Gibson Les Paul Traditional. So got the guitar. So all I need is a all tube amp. Please help.

  • @PrsFenderJackson1980

    fender bassman or blues deville

    REALLY GOOD!!!

a twin reverb is also a pretty good bluesamp

  • i wont go with the deville in my opinion it sucks but bassman's a great amp and and the twin is a great amp too but a litte to jazzy for me when me when playing blues, its depending on which blues you want to play, for a more modern blues rock u can either check out the vox handwierds or some old marshalls, if you want to play more of a chicago style blues you probably

  • PrsFenderJackson1980, go get yourself a Ceriatone Overtone Special.

  • Hi, great stuff and cool amp. What are the amps behind you? I've seen the second one from the top in Rich Robinson's live rig but never new what it was.

  • has anyone who owns one of these amps noticed that these amps have a tendency to "sizzle". as in even when the volume on the guitar is totally off they hiss a bit. I want to know if mine needs a repair done or something.

  • I think that is normal. As long as it is not incredibly loud buzz.. Make sure if you're using only one channel to turn the other channel volume completely off. There is a lot of tube power, so i'm guessing some hiss is normal!

  • PGS, can u do an review of the fender bassman amp, i want to compare it with the hw ac30

  • were is this amp made

  • What mic are you using?

  • Royer R121

  • Hi andy , I'm looking into buying a Vox AC30 , and I need a vintage style but versitale amp . So do you think this is a good amp for what I'm looking for ? Are you using any pedals in this demo ? And how fast does the AC30 break up and start to distort ? Cheers , will !

  • AC30's break up very early and that's what people love about em! The Handwired AC30 does have a much more dirty tone compared to the Custom Classic version. They both have the "chime" of EL84 tubese, very vintage, roots rock tone. Check out some of the G&L vids to hear the AC30 in a clearer recording. Email us for any further questions. Thanks!

  • Ok , thanks a bunch PGS !

  • Ok , thanks a bunch PGS !!

  • Ok , thanks a bunch PGS !

  • Hi andy , do you think this amp take pedals good?

  • on a clean setting yes it would

  • thats the best and collest tele I HAVE EVER SEEN!!! until he gets the second guitar

  • Is that the 52 reissue Tele?

  • i have a heritage ac 30 and when i flip swich to half power mode it makes pretty loud noise does anyone know if that is normal thanks for any info

  • Take it to a repair guy

  • These are good amps build with good components, normally not noisy.

  • @jp6l6

the noise he is talking about is a very loud popping sound when the triode/pentode switch is flipped, he doesn't mean any hiss or hum or anything like that. the best way i can describe it is almost like the sound the switch physically makes when you flip it, except the amp picks it up and makes it louder.

  • As long as you're not hearing any noises while playing, you're fine.

  • this is normal on all of these amps. switch it before you turn it on.

  • great amp got it love it

  • i love vox!

  • i love telecasters!

  • @Cedocore and ac-30's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • andy, does this amp breaks easily in the normal channel?

  • not really you gotta use the top boost channel

  • Hi Andy, I wonder if it's possible to switch between both the channels using an A / B box ?

  • Sure, that's a pretty common technique which two channel amps that are not footswitchable

  • sound like marshal without it`s punch

  • Sounds awful. Distortion reminds me of myold JMI AC 50 which I sold recently. It was even worse. Give me a decent chinese AC 30 cc2. They are sound heaven.

Or- the guy testing it diong a very bad job for Vox/Korg

  • I love my cc2 as well!

  • It would seem more logic to me to start with clean tones and end up with the most distorted ones.

I would also tune my guitar properly or use one that stays in tune.

  • with an OD boost can this do some Classic Metal stuff, or will the tone be really muddy?

  • It comes with celestion blues so a speaker change would be a must I think, but I'm sure there's some kind of pedal out there ... maybe a box of rock might get you into Maiden Terratory, not sure though.

  • you might as well go with an amp that is built for metal playing. This is no where near an amp for metal.

  • why are u thinking 'bout buying an amp like this if u want to play classic metal? your decidion should depend on the basic sound of an amp and not they sound you could push it to...

why don't u think about an old marshall(new models suck in my opinion)

  • check out

oasis - rock n roll star

    bring it on down

    and ciggarettes and alchol

thats a an ac30 boosted with a tubescreamer

  • That Telecaster just sounds way to good.

  • Wow, it loves that Telecaster.

  • does it ever! i plugged in a tele to the ac15hw and it was like magic! i also find these amps sound great with gretschs and gibsons with p90s. these amps are pure bliss with p90s!

  • This amp is great but are you sure about the speakers?

Afaik, the speakers are not made by Celestion in the UK but by Vox in China.

  • obmit, does matter if they sound fantastic both ways... =)

  • i played the AC15HH in a store and i thought this amp was really muddy in the bottom end, even with the bass shift. so i turned down all the bass and it was a bit better but still fairly muddy. would this amp be better suited to single coils? like tele's and even gretsch's using the single coils? i really love the look of this amp, i think its the best ive ever seen, but i was disappointed by the sound. or would this just be a problem because i tried the AC15 and not the AC30??

  • The AC30 reponds better to Humbuckers and has more cleaner headroom. The AC15 is a pretty dirty amp, especially if you're only playing through a 1x12. It's a vintage design so you'll want to use your guitar vol to clean up the tone.

  • awesome review, he should have also tried it with a Rickenbacker though!

  • OK, EL84's are Vox sound. EL34's are Marshall sound. Fran Dresher=EL34, Nasaly but quintesential Vox. Sound city, Hiwatt, Marshall, EL 34, twice the size, twice the voltage. 2 EL 34= 4 EL84. You get what you want. 5o watt. apples to oranges.

  • whats the bloodyy song around 1:40 to 1:55 and progressing further?? thanks for help.

  • what is the main difference in the tone compared to, say, a marshall?

  • el84s in VOX, el34s in Marshall. big difference in sound. nobody could get mad about the sound of this amp. GREAT r&r tones. any fatter would be wrong....

  • its somewhat close, i mean to a limit... the person below me is right the el84s are hotter and janglier than el34s, but both british sounding.

  • the Blue Alnicos sound amazing

  • is this better than a Vox ac30cc2x ?
