Julian is operating various levers that control tempi, the sustain pedal, the balance between left and right halves of the piano and in combination with how hard he is pedalling , the volume.
This another case in point when one is showing their player performing on youtube-the piano is well tuned & knowing how to pedal a push-up to add dynamics. Jolly good show Julian, Old Bean. Bill Shirley in the Colonies.
