As an American, I'm considering this University for a Master's. I looked at tuition and it seemed similar to what I'd be paying here in the US. Is this a good university for an American like myself? Is this a diverse college?
@LaEmpressChic Its Diverse , I myself have seen lots of American , Portuguese , Italian , Spanish and other country student that have come all the way out here in London to study at London Met! So just look at stuff about your course and the housing life and don't worry about the fact if its good for a American student or not because London Met prides itself to be a Diverse University.
@ambrinne they didnt say! i guess i just left it too long after college really :( REALLY wanted to go there....but im gunna travel instead now with that money i think
I went to London Met, now i'm skint barely scraping by with a crappy job and have no career prospects because my degree is worthless as London Met is rated extremely low.
Hi guys! I am thinking about enrolling to London Met for a master course. Would you recommend this university? Is it easy to be accepted? My concern is that I'm Italian with an Italian degree...do you know if they provide any kinds of scolrships for foreigners? Any help would be precious!
What help do you need? I f you want to meet some current students there is a group on Facebook called, Sir John Cass Department of Art, Media & Design .
I understand... but this is just one 'student ' who didn't write a perfect sentence on youtube it doesn't accurately reflect the abilities and skills of 34,000 students at London met.
I am saying an institution shouldn't be judged on the basis of one student who made grammatical errors on youtube...
You are a post grad student at London Met and this is the standard of English grammar and spelling they now accept?? They don't have ''teachers'' at universities...
You judge people just because the way they type on the internet?. This is youtube for fucks sake who cares about spelling . Go do something worthwhile with your life rather than disrespect people and other universities.
oh PS London met has 24/24 teaching quality on most courses and has the best science teaching lab in entire europe (you can look it up).
Yes, I do judge people by their spelling and grammar ability, especially if they are at 'post grad' level. And so would anyone looking at a CV written like that, or a lecturer marking an essay. I happen to be an English teacher, and find this level of English unacceptable from High School students, let alone those in higher education.
The science lab was always good as was the learning centre. The admin is shocking and lets fee paying students down terribly.
I think you missed the point, I said judging people on the internet (especially on a website like youtube) because of the way they spell. Sometimes even I don't bother with typing perfect sentences on youtube because quite frankly I can't be arsed. It's not as if this is some proper forum.
You must also take into account that a lot of international students study at this university and it is not their first language.
Yes, agreed. It does often come down to laziness or time. But, people will be judged by their writing ability here as there is nothing else to judge them on.
What's more, I teach in Japan. I teach students taking tests such as IELTS, TOEIC etc, who are going to study abroad. I have never been presented with a piece of work that is written so poorly by one of my students and would expect them to fail any entry test based on that standard. Universities like foreign students for financial reasons.
I went there to do a Leisure & tourism management degree and on the first day they had no record of me. They totally screwed up. The corridors were full of people whose courses were fucked up. There was a guy outside the tower building collecting signatures for his petition because they screwed up his degree. I didn't believe it until they did the same thing to me. I could tell you much more...
DON'T!!! Seriously. They want bums on seats that's all and they just LOVE international students for financial reasons. I live in Tokyo and they asked me to promote the uni a few years ago in Tokyo. I thought of doing it, but then noticed that they wanted to CHARGE ME to do it FOR THEM!!! About £60 in total. I had to pay my own travel, do it in my time and pay for it. Why??? Ask them, I didn't understand either. I thought they were going to pay me!
I'm on the Creative writing course and I love it. The teachers push me and my classmates very hard, we have all known from the start that they expect us to give everything we have. It's a tough course but worth it, you end up with great results if you put in the work. Yes, there are a few admin problems but all places with over 7000 students per course have some small hiccups. The nightlife and location is amazing and they are very understanding about personal problems that come up.
Honestly, I would have taken that testimonial seriously if it didn't have so many grammatical errors. I'm sorry, but if you claim to be a creative writing major and make those sorts of simplistic mistakes, I'm not sure that the university you attend is for me. This is nothing against you personally, but it shows that your professors obviously do not push you to get in good writing and typing habits. You have to crawl before you walk; it looks as though you and your professors disagree.
What the hell are you talking about? There are no errors in it. Maybe there is something wrong with your page but there are no errors in that reply I put up.
claire I am an actor..i am moving to london partly because i want to enter the acting industry there instead of hollywood or ny...but also i want to learn to write plus I think the best actors adn writers have a talent in understanding human nature adn literature can enrich and give better understanding to human motivations...I am hoping to work part time, volunteer at a theatre and do a creative writing and philosophy course do you think its possible
By the way, Regent's College is too expensive at a cost of $13,995 and this is only like $7,400, with a minimum GPA of only 2.5 and my average GPA is a solid 3.0. I also happen to be a history major and have sufficent British knowledge. I lived in the Boston area in the USA my whole life and i'm 21 with a passport. My point is, don't underestimate a perfectly good college in the most magnificent city in the world. For what it's worth, i'd rather live in London than in the US of A.
i cant say for sure about the business department, but i don't really think there are any good departments at the uni. it is the worst uni in the country
this is a terrible uni, really terrible, do not go here you will regret it, every student on my course and every student i met in two years living in halls thought it was a shit hole.
How would you or they know? Don't say that! I am desperate for going abroad in England, and this is like my only remaining school i could go to. I've heard that it's the only school in London where people take field trips to Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Holland and last but not least...France. Just becasue you and your friends may not like it doesnt mean that everyone else wouldn't like it either. I'm a luckless American college student who may not ever go to the UK. And it only costs $7,400.
why do you think its the cheapest you buffoon, i had an american friend doing a politics masters, he said if he had known how bad it was he would not have gone to the uni. im not just saying its bad as an opinion, its officially bad going on facts and figures. i hope you dont get stabbed to death either
Don't call me a buffoon. I need to find a decent school to go abroad in England. if you don't suggest this particular place, where else in London would i go to? Regent's College seems like a boring location. I need information people! Do you think you can help me out?! I checked out the website and it advertised it like it was a decent place to study.

Hi, assuming you will be auditioning at the North Campus, you will need to get to Holloway Road on the tube. From the bus station walk up Buckingham Palace Road towards Victoria Station. The underground entrance is at the front of the station. Take the Victoria line one stop north to Green Park. Change to the Piccadilly line and go north to Holloway Road Tube station. The whole journey should take you 30-40 minutes. Good Luck and don't be nervous!!
Londonmet has this terrible rep, but in actual fact it was one of the best unis I have been to. After doing my degree there I wanted to do my Masters at a more 'rated' uni so I went to Royal Holloway University of London. They couldn't hold a candle to Londonmet!
I worked in the uni for about 18 months and there was a running joke amongst the staff that out of the 125 universities in the UK, LondonMet ranked 126th. That'll give you an idea as to how 'good' it is.
