I don't own a car and i bike or walk everywhere. I don't have a problem with voice command and blue tooth it isn't any different than talking to a passenger. On the other hand I have almost been hit countless number of times by people actually driving while talking on the cell phone held up to their ear. One time I had to swerve and wreck my bike to avoid being ran over.

I happen to like the Windows OS better, but did MS influence the decision, meaning is there anything you're not telling us? PS, I'm also for a cell phone ban while driving. I agree, texting and calling should be banned. A friend almost nearly killed me because he was texting and playing with pandora on his iphone when he ran a red light and almost hit a car. I personally have a dedicated gps, mp3 player, and my phone so I don't need to fiddle around so much. I have never had close calls since my eyes are always on the road.

@NicolSD simple that one- a passenger can usually see when you may be approaching somewhere that might need more of your attention (not everyone!). Also, easier to tune out and focus on driving with passengers compared to a blue tooth headset (my experience). Here in the UK the driving study showed talking on a mobile (not a headset) was the same as being dunk while driving (in terms of concentration lapse). The reasons being similar for headsets (which weren't tested:)

If you can't talk on a bluetooth phone and drive at the same time then either you should stop driving or stop talking. Me I can talk via bluetooth (pull out my bluetooth and connect it if need be), drive a manual, signal, do the speed limit, watch where I'm going, and have Waze run in the background. I talk on the phone and drive at the same time. and I use siri to reply to texts. If i wasn't able to do that then I wouldn't be able to get any work done. I always have my headphones in, I don't feel that it distracts me. I think a complete cell phone ban while driving is ridiculous. I think if they are going to do that they might as well ban using climate control or the radio while driving also. and that would distract me more than using my phone hands free.
