I don't understand why Spike Lee has so much to say about Tyler's work. If my memory serves me right, and I know it does, Spike Lee's movies were filled with sex, violence, rapes murders, and had not much religious content, if any at all. Tyler Perry is entirely right his movies are entertaining, and are in essence teaching family, love and God.

There is always a segment of people that are going to criticize everything. These movies do not only showcase black families but they also show a segment of white society that I am a part of, and I can totally identify with the characters of Tyler Perry . If anything, Perry and Lee are on opposing sides (in terms of the Black community--Lee leaning towards the so-called "Black Elite" while Perry appeals to the Black working class).

Perry's a great businessman--no doubt, but don't bet on him to advance the Black agenda.
