Vela is a good player. But his only problem that he has. Is that he tries to hard. He doesn't make a lot goals. And sometimes becomes a ball hogger. What's the point of having control of the ball if you can't put it behind the net. Chicharito in the other hand takes advantage of ever chance he gets. Thats why hes there where he is and doesn't let the fame bring him down.

I used to rate him far higher as a player especially after the demolition of Sheffield United when i genuinely believed he was going to be a focal point of the Arsenal team for years to come, however since then his forms dipped and he looks far too light weight, teams seem to have more than one player on him most of the time resulting in him coming deep for the ball which doesn't seem to work for him either. Personally i think its time Arsenal sell up.

Vela had his chance last season. All wenger can do is give him a chance, he did get playing time at the start of last season and also the number 11 shirt, but he didn't do enough to secure a first team place. Similarly Hernandez was given a chance and he took it with both hands, so did players like fab and jack.
One a side note you can't deny this guy has talent and technique so he is bound to come good, weather it will be at Arsenal or some other club that is entirely a different thing

I'm not sure what his problem is, on paper he's quick, a composed finisher, has good footwork and dribbling. He seems to struggle a lot when the game's tight and there isn't much space in behind to exploit (everyone does to an extent but he's pretty ineffectual in such situations).
Maybe he just lacks the "game intelligence" to create space for himself. The best players in the world can create openings for themselves in congested midfields/defences because of their movement.
You can tell he is still getting use to the la liga style of play again..give him 2 more games and he will start showing his talent little by little..he played well this match but we all know what more he is capable of..his days at Arsenal are over (at lest i hope so). Vela deserves this opportunity to be a starter weather its for a team like this or Valencia. His confidence is broken to pieces due to how he was treated at Arsenal. Time to rebuild Vela show the world you can be as good as anyone
I'm pretty sure he was loaned out to raise his buying price. No one was going to pay for a talented player who had no significant playing time in years. I hope Vela does well and gets bought by Valencia or Villareal.

He keeps on losing the ball. I used to be a big fan but he has gone backwards in the last 2 seasons and i dont know if he can come back up. Hopefully in the softer spanish league he might be able to find form but im not holding my breath.

We could do with a Vela type striker at the moment. The number of balls we put across the six yard box with no one on the end of them. I hope he gets a lot of playing time with Sociedad and rediscovers some of the form that we saw in his early performances with Arsenal.

I'm not sure where Agirretxe was playing exactly, as I was focussing on Vela, but most of the time Vela was the furthest forward player with 1 just off him and two wide men around him.

Like a mini chamakh :/ God knows what happened to Him and chamakh ,just seemed to have lost something .
Also before we buy more players we need to get a new medical team or more efiicient training methods .

He keeps on losing the ball. I used to be a big fan but he has gone backwards in the last 2 seasons and i dont know if he can come back up. Hopefully in the softer spanish league he might be able to find form but im not holding my breath.

@hectorhjm19 If you don't acknowledge that Arsenal's current forwards have been doing a lot better than this I'm not sure what you've been watching. People talk shit about Bendtner, Bendtner at least can retain possession of the ball a lot of the time. I'll agree Chamakh is looking particularly abysmal at the moment though.

We could do with a Vela type striker at the moment. The number of balls we put across the six yard box with no one on the end of them. I hope he gets a lot of playing time with Sociedad and rediscovers some of the form that we saw in his early performances with Arsenal.

@rhinol013 Really does, doesn't it...looks so uncomfortable on the ball at times...particularly some of the passes towards the end.

@DaGunnersRvP The original formation actually put Agirretxe up front and Vela on the left but Vela was very much playing the lone striker role. I'm not sure where Agirretxe was playing exactly, as I was focussing on Vela, but most of the time Vela was the furthest forward player with 1 just off him and two wide men around him.
