  • which is the name of the song?

  • This is areal german Propaganda XD!

  • This commercial was made for the Netherlands-based company Phillips (the company that invented compact audio tapes) in 1937 in three versions: Dutch, Norwegian and German. Being one of the best in his business, the German creator Hans Fischerkoesen was in high demand at the time, not just in his home country. His animation art was top notch back then, giving cues to quite a few American animators. GIven the oportunity to leave Germany, he might have become world famous. Cheers, Julia

  • seems odd for one of hitler's aminators to use yankee doodle, and the nutcracker

i know its norwegian but still sounds ironic

  • Very interesting -- especially the early color photography. But the sun has a lifetime measured in billions of years. What's that bulb going to last -- maybe 1000 hours or so?

  • Definatately has something to do with Norway because the last frame has the word "Norske" in it. Also, it has to be some very Northern country if the sun's rising at 3:58.

  • Heh, hardly modest about the product!

A delightful bit of old animation none the less.

  • What if it's 1937 and you live in Norway?

  • Most of those energy efficient lightbulbs are actually made in China.

  • That song was used during grduation day every march

  • And look, they let you graduate without you learning what the music is. Congratulations, I guess.

  • Amazing clarity and quality for the age, excellent find!

  • Hey baroughter, how do you pin down the year of this film as 1937?

  • can't rightly remember. i think i found a dutch website that labeled it as so?

  • It's gotta be Norwegian. It ain't Swedish, not Finnish, not Danish, nor Kraut. It's not Russian, Ukrainian; no Polish therebout. No Flemish, no Dutch, no hot Spanish wench... Everyone knows Allah's Dhimmis all take Orders in French! The Continent is a big mess, again. I hear the most popular name amongst newborns in Europe is 'Mo-hammed'.

  • Yes it's Norwegian. Old written Norwegian like we don't write any more.

Norway is not a memeber of the EU if that is what you're talking about, if not I have no idea what you're on about...

  • Made for the Norwegian market. The last title card says Philips lightbulbs were Norwegian made.
