Dr. J was truly a classic. He did more for the game during the rough time around the ABA-NBA merger than anyone. He is one of the reasons why the NBA is still around today.
Why do we act like this guy never existed ? I hear Jordan this Magic that Kobe this and Lebron that. But we act like there were no such thing as Dr. J. Dr. J would of beaten all of them.
@eghannou at first glance it somewhat looks like that but if you replay it no he didnt travel..them long strides he took and the timing of when he actually goes of the ground..the timing is just right
@DaddyDog42 one of my fav dunks was the vince carter dunk in the dunk contest where he did like a 360 windmill. the first time I saw that i was in shock.
Doc had the perfect combo of jumping ability, huge hands, and long arms. Did you see his famous reverse layup? Before he jumped he picked the ball up with one hand. Crazy.
i wish i was alive in the olden days and i could wach all the best players but hay amare stoudemire is on the knicks and my life is great but michael jordan dr.j magic johnson larry bird david robinson was with the spurs those were the days i guess

If you slow down the vid and watch, it is indeed 2 steps. Its because he picks the ball up off the dribble with one hand on the run. There is no way to defend that. And that is why this is an amazing and unique in-game shot.
My favorite dunk of all time.

the emotion of the moment is what makes it great. not the dunk itself.

I love how Cooper ducks instead of trying to challenge the doctor
