Hi, I'm considering getting the Harte 3500 head to use as a tube pre-amp and DI box for recording direct into my computer like how yours is set up.

Do you notice a big improvement in sound quality going through the amp head, vs just plugging your bass directly into the computer?

Is it worth adding, or would I be better off getting some other DI box/preamp?

I just need it for recording, no live usage

I have been torn betweena Tobias Killer B or the Fender Roscoe Beck model with the Hipshot D-Tuner, but, I think I gotta go with the Tobias after hearing that. Very clean sounds (i.e. no mud and not thin at all).

Did you play this by ear or did you learn it from sheet/tab? I can only find one "power tab" file for it, and the bass doesn't sound quite right in parts. I'd really appreciate some help with this song. It's killer.

And yes, the low B is very tight, the amps suffers a lot, rsrsrs, but I use only 0.045 strings sets.
