In my opinion I think that both of you guys are right about Blur Ray because its a HD DVD. Does it have HD picture and sound yes, but as far as it being the next step in watching videos it isn't.
Lets look back
floppy disk held bs or kbs
cds held mbs
DVD held GBs
Blu Ray held more GBs
See my point. If blu ray held TBs then I would consider it a next step.
The next real step in seeing video is not HD or 3D, its holograms. Yes holograms.
@Connect200 That is a good observation. Besides "only" holding more GB's, there is no real need for more storage room (in most cases). I think holograms are probably a few steps away.
I actually like this response video, you very level headed and clear. You don't seem at all biased like a fanboy and you got your point across props man. I'm with you on the whole blu-ray thing its not really all that interesting to me and ive never been interested in ps3 or its games but I once had some fanboys trying to sell me on ps3's slogan "it only does everything" when to me that's bullshit and unnecessary bullshit at that. i get a game console for games that's why i liked the avgn review
@xShadowDarkX I try to be reasonable about stuff like this. Normally he seems like a really good guy and a gamer, but here I just couldn't agree with him. Thanks for the comment and support.
Usually the video game nerd's videos are funny, but his review on the ps3 blu ray was just awful. It's pretty obvious he is a guy who relies heavily on nostalgia and was just looking for reasons and even making up reasons to dislike blu-ray/PS3.
avgn is a retro gamer and plays mostly on retro consoles.hesleaned toward nintendo more.it seems like you just wanted to defend the ps3 even though he just reviewed the blu ray player.lol im not a fanboy i got all 3 systems.just got a ps3 3weeks ago.uncharted 2 is amazing!
@Alexred94 I know, but some of the things he said made no sense, like the controller running out of power in 2 hours time. Come on, that makes no sense. His retro gaming is right on, this is about the only time I disagree with him.
ive had my xbox 360 since 2006 and its never had the red ring, everyones luck is different with these consoles, even though ps3s do indeed fuck up way less than xbox 360s lulz
I completely believe he was telling the truth, of course, but I just wished that he could have pointed out something like you just did. Where people can be unlucky, but normally the PS3 is reliable.
Just to let everyone know the Angry Video Game Nerd do play VIDEO GAMES on his PS3. He played and beat MGS4. He lied about not playing games on his PS3, I don't know why?
Ya don't get me wrong. It's nice, but it makes little difference unless you have an amazingly large TV. Even then I would pay not more that $100 for it. .
Well to me he has lost some credibility for saying that. Okay, I have a SIXAXIS controller and the battery life isn't thtat great, however I think that is due to age. When I first got mine I did a similar thing to you. I left it on overnight and slept late so it had 9hrs+ battery life, but now it is only about 6 hours. But who carss? Since when has the simple task of plugging a cable into the controller been such a chore?
(Continued haha) Okay, the 360 controller may have a better battery life, but the point is, you either have to replace the batteries or plug it in. However, instead of changing the batteries once a week, I would rather just plug it in. It's not as if you have to quit game or anything, it takes about 5 seconds. It's not a valid point because of the simplicity of plugging it back in.
(woah triple comment) I disagree about the blu-ray remote thing. I went to a friends house and watched 300 on blu-ray. We only had the controller, not the blue-ray remote, and our experience was fine. This is my ignorance here, but I don't know what the remote offers over the controller. The controller allows you to rewind and stuff just fine and flick through scenes. I think Sony has every right to SELL the blu-ray remote, because Blu-rays are watchable without it.
Wow, the quadra comment. But yeah, buying a blu-ray remote is like buying an expensive PC joystick: You can play just fine with the keyboard and mouse, but to enhance the experience, you can buy a joystick. That is why Sony can sell it rather than just put it in the PS3's box.
The only reason that plugging it back in would be a problem is if you want to watch the video from the other side of the room. However, I don't think many people watch 3 movies in a row. Most people could just recharge between movies. From what you said about battery life it does sound like DS3 has more battery than Sixaxis. I also prefer recharging to switching out batteries. The blu-ray remote is not somthing I would buy but I agree with the comparison to a PC joystick. Thanks for the comments
I personally don't care much for Blu-Ray, since I'm perfectly satisfied with my 1080p upscale DVD player which doesn't give Blu-Ray quality, but come really close. I might eventually get a player in a far-off future, since they've started undercutting bonus features for DVD releases to push sales for Blu-Ray.

@kb492002 I don't want to go as far as saying that he intentionally made up stuff. However, it does seem like he needs to do more research on this.

Well the Video Game Nerd is a character. So he was acting. Maybe he was just trying to be more dramatic? How do you know this?

You should put a link in the sidebar to the video this is aimed at.

You know what that is a good idea. I'll do that and put in an annotation telling people to click on that link.

The sixaxis is not as much as the dual shock btw
shadowwolf2700 1 year ago
The controller also automatically turns off after like 10 mins of non-use to conserve battery life. So it should last even linger than 9 hrs
ggoldman43 1 year ago
That feature is not automatically enabled, but that is still a good point.
