  • I hate chicks politics ..............but they sure can sing.

  • They used to play this version on the radio all the time when it was first out. It's a good version.

  • Remember this from when Dixie Chicks and Ricky Skaggs were on tour together.

  • Awesome!!! thanks for posting....can't believe I never heard this version before....:-)

  • Nice, I'd only heard it with Kentucky Headhunters before, this was quite different. Thanks!

  • @littlegelland You're welcome :)

  • It's from the Album BIG MON, a tribute to Bill Monroe produced by Rick Skaggs.

  • Where can I get this song?

  • Make a video for this... :) great song it deserves one, lol even just lyrics

  • Rickie just lost a fan

  • I like the faster tempo of the Kentucky Headhunters version. But this is a cool and unique cover!

  • I heard this song for the first time today, and so far I've played it four times in a row lol I can never get enough of Natalie's voice!!

  • This song is from a copulation record Ricky Scaggs recorded with a bunch of country singers it is all Bluegrass I can't find my CD and I don't remeber the name of it.

  • This version sounds purer to me..I like my country and bluegrass old timey. I did not like this song until I heard this version. The Chicks rule, haters drool

  • My grandmother liked RIcky. Should would have loved this.

  • better then the first version, IMO:)

  • such an amazing song. Natalie sounds beautiful as usual:)

  • This is pure genius! Natalie Maines is an amazing singer!

  • what album is this on?

  • Nobody will belive me... but my gr8 grandma wrote this. She entered it into a contest and they said they had a winner and sent it back, then the Kentucky Headhunters came out singin it. She was PISSED, and I was too. I found her original sheet music. It said "Walk softly on thsi heart of mine by Ida Southern" and then I found this. She had lost ALL rights to this song... =(

  • @idc4294 Bill Monroe wrote this song ages ago...the chicks and ricky scaggs cover it here as did the head hunters in the 80's.

  • this song proves just how great these ladies truly are! this is the first time i've heard this 1 i love it! come on country radio and cmt give it up denying this talent only deprives people. we all have political opinions including natalie, the fact she could say hers without fear is what our country was founded on!

  • @ROGERSDUCK there is no denying talent, but to use your musical ability as a political agenda is a completely different story. the truth of the matter is that when she went all political, the people she offended were the people that bought their cd's. the same thing happens to a lot of bands. there's a canadian band called wide mouth mason that did the exact same thing, and now they're pretty much the last little kernal of corn floating in the crapper.

  • amazing

  • LOVE IT!!!!!

  • Love that Bluegrass sound.

  • Sorry, when they got politcal they RUINED IT!

Toby Kieth is another "Turn Coat"

  • LOVE IT!

  • I hate it Natalie Really belts this one out

Laura's vocles could really be used in this one!!!!

  • This is one of my very favorite songs for message, melody, acoustic instrumentation but mostly "heart." Authenitic American music is what I say it is. This is really hard to find unless you buy a Ricky Skaggs album. The people who like the Kentucky Headhunters better do not care for the "heart" and the great acoustic picking in this nice duet.

  • @TheBahamabob if you're talking about the passion for the music, i would have to disagree with you. the kentucky headhunters are/were just as passionate about the music as this version. honestly i have more respect for the headhunters than the dixie chicks (namely natalie) as she was obviously more concerned about using her musical ability as a launch pad to throw out her political agenda. ricky skaggs tho, is pretty much amazing. definitely would have made bill monroe proud.

  • Heard this on Bob Harrris Country, QUALITY!

  • heard this on radio 2 today loved the melody.

  • I'd never heard this before..It's pretty darn amazing! <3

  • Yay im glad you think so too!! :D

  • the kentucky headhunters yet still did a better version than this one

  • great song. I LOVE the Dixie Chicks!!! They r my favorite since I can remeber. I also agree what they said. Who accompanies them in this song? Thanks for posting this.
