  • I will always remember my father singing this around the house during my childhood. He was in a male voice chior in Cornwall and brought most of his songs home with him. He used to sing it for my mother who sadly passed away less than a month ago. So it's both a happy and sad experience to hear this, but thanks for posting it.

  • Actually I like music from the 70's and early 80's along with country not folk.

I never made a comment about the actual song only the title, but you made a mountain out of a mole hill.

  • @fingertalkin Your comments were about the title and the lyrics - and unlike the comment from gertofs1 and myself, you still refuse to accept that there is more than one version and both can be acceptable. You are most welcome however, to visit my Lanreath Film and Recording Studio in Cornwall, and sing your version with your brothers 'for free', and I will post that on the Internet for you - I'm an International Media Production Consultant and Filmmaker

  • I agree that the words were not the ones that I have sung for many a year. However nice to see the young children singing and enjoying it well done.

  • @gertofs1 Thank you for your comments Mark. Maybe it's a case between traditional and modern, but as a singer of folk myself for 50-years I can accept both. The children are from a number of schools and are being led by a local music teacher.

  • Well unfortunately the version I sing with my brothers in Camborne is not the one you do. I don't use "Google" for a song I've been singing for near on 40 years.

  • @fingertalkin Because you've been singing your version with your words for 40-years doesn't you right and others wrong. If you're into folk, any folk, you should know that most / every traditional folk song is sung by many people using a variety of different words and a variety of different tunes. That's what make folk so interesting. If you don't know this, what planet are you from ?

  • Before posting a comment saying something is wrong, best to check your facts. If you had taken the time to 'Google' the title I used, you would have found that it is correct. Some sing it with other words, including Liza, but then this goes for many songs. In future when claiming you know best and something is wrong, be sure of your facts before posting a comment.

  • pity the words and title are wrong
