• Everyone has brilliance in them, this is yours. Truly magnificent. The music, the photographs, a million times better than the sum of parts. Thanks for putting this together, it made me smile 1000 times over...

  • Curious about the picture used in the clip @ 2:52. One of the guys at the table on the left looks amazing similar to my great uncle. His name is Richard Grantham (Reynolds). Any idea where the photo was taken???

  • bring out the lighters

  • Quite wonderful, somehow I'm touched.

Thank you. I think black and white photos much nicer than the colorful impressive.

    Greez _ Doc Ramone

  • First heard this cover on a tape recorded off a radio station. I thought Wow then and still do. Fantastic cover. Thank you.

  • Thanks for sharing such beautiful photos. And for putting them with such an amazing version of Flame Trees.

  • isn't this song from TWTWB (tomorrow when the war began?)

  • damn this is old,

nice song and ur family rocks

  • @FaBFaB66 Thanks for watching.

  • funny how people are judging u on this cover as if u actually sang it.why dont all the critics write a letter to blasko expressing how it 'lacks the feeling of regret'. if you truly love the barnes version why are u looking up covers slash listening to them and wasting your life and everybody elses commenting. do you think the creator of this video gives 2 shits about your critisicm, considering they didnt actually cover this song.and from a very professional point of view, fantastic slideshow

  • @Kyladee88 Cheers.

  • @Kyladee88 hahaha thats sooo true!! :)

  • Great cover but lacks the feeling of regret you get from the original

  • I'm not a fan of Barnes' vocals in pretty much anything, so it makes a good song entirely listenable. In short, this is a fantastic cover.

  • Love this cover!!!

  • this song is in tomorrow when the war began, such a great song it makes that bit of the movie special.

  • @3kck3 Agreed.

  • Tomorrow when the war began <3 great movie , great song

  • good old tomorrow when the war began

  • this song reminds me of what it would be like if my late father came back for a day and just went about things - hanging out with friends he hasn't seen is so many years... Thinking about my ma as well... I miss him always and this sog just makes me think just nice things about him instead :o)

  • so lovely...i always think of 'On the Jellico Road', because the song is mentioned in it. I have to say, I like Sarah's version better than the original.....

  • This song is part of the sound of the movie ' Little Fish ' an ( Aussie movie)

and it is song buy a bunch of 6-7 year olds from The Sacred Heart School.

And it is a very good version , no joke..

  • Hey! Absolutely love what you have done. Are these your family pics? Saw Sarah last week at QPAC in Brisbane. What an amazing artist!!! She said, it will be the last time she sings this song in Brisbane :(. So glad I got to hear her sing it live!

  • Hey mate, great slide show. This song will connect with the world!

  • Sarah blasko's version is even better than the cold chisel original imo. She has a beautiful voice and any of her covers are actually different in some respect to the original.

p.s. I love your slide show. Very sentimental and beautiful.

  • Searched for this after watching Tomorrow When the War Began....Absolutely beautiful rendition....Better than the original perhaps, and it is one of my fav chisel songs.

  • Tomorrow When the War Began!

I was watching... then this song cam on i was like AHHHHHH!!!!!! sarah! <3

  • I am voting for John HOWARD.

  • Beautiful...simply beautiful! I', not really a huge Barnesy fan, but I really love this song, this version, and these images!

  • What a beautiful way to keep your memories. I really enjoyed watching your video even though I have no idea about the people in the pictures. Fantastic choice of music. Completely stumbled upon it, but for some reason it has really struck me. Thank you.

  • Touching, better than Chisel.

  • obviously its not as good as chisels .. but how beautiful is this cover by a sweet talented aussie girl...very moving

such an epic song ..love the lyrics :D

  • Amazing cover !

  • JUST BEAUTIFUL.

  • just wondering what program you used to make this slideshow? and the transition from picture to picture looks great!

  • @mocktong Hi, thanks for watching, I used Windows movie maker.

  • top rendition one of my faves ..thanks for posting

  • @64g15csr Thanks for watching. Cheers.

  • wow how nice song and i prefer Cold chisel Band is more likely stronger classical in 80's... Nbr 1 band forever... !!

  • Classic Australian song, well covered. Keep up the good work Sarah..

  • i like the cold chisel version better

    ]

  • Not a bad rendition, but doesn't deliver the impact of the CHISEL version !

  • doesn't quite have the Rocket fueled drawl that Barnesy delivered with this iconic Aussie tune but yeah is definitely a beautiful rendition of it. Your slideshow family photos worked well with the song too.

  • Thanks for your comment.:) Cheers.

  • I don't really know Sarah Blasko's music all that well, but I was on the loadout at Sydney homebake so I found myself backstage when she closed her set with this song. Sounded amazing live.

  • It's one of my fav Cold Chisel songs & I think Sarah version is beautiful and brave. Thanks.

  • I do so love this slideshow.

  • So captured the moment in the movie "Little Fish" was almost reduced to tears!

  • Awesome song :)

  • I was so touched by this video. It brought back many happy childhood memories

  • Hey Calendula59 - Love the sense of a better life in times gone past your slide show conveys. Thanks for posting this. Makes me want to be a 10 Pound pom...

  • this Version of this song is amazing...

    Sarah Blasko you AMAZE ME!

  • briliant work-awesome song

  • whoa, i've loved this song since 2005 i think and just found out now that it's a cover...yikes on my part fantastic on sarah blasko's part.

  • Great cover of a great song

  • This is absolutely beautiful, Well done for the slide show.

  • A great version of a classic song -- and great work with a slide show -- well done in every way

  • Very nice. The pics remind me so much of home and the song sets of the mood just right. Hey, those photos look strangely familiar - just kidding. Seriously though, this is good work.

  • Thx. The pics were taken in mostly Port Adelaide & some in Italy. Cheers.

  • GAAAH THE POWER!

  • Hey thanks.:)

  • I love this song but not quite sure of this version, but i do love ur pics of ur family ... great work

  • saw CC many times in pubs in the early 80's, bever understood this song till now, thanks Sarah,

  • Very touching song. I love her version. I also love the slide show, I relate to it so much! I have so many black and white photos of my family and would like to create a slide show like this! One of my favorite You Tube clips!!!

  • this is beautiful

  • Oh sure wave your flag. I love a sunburt country..and all that.

  • takes me back.... did the world seem better back when cold chisel and jimmy were recording or is that just nostalgia? Great work Sarah.

  • this is unbelievably beautiful!

    sarah you are brilliant =D

  • Who were all those people and what became of them?

  • They are my family members, relatives & their friends, before we got older and moved on or passed away. The person you see most in this slideshow is my father. He's still alive.:)

  • Well done. I enjoyed your video.

  • GREAT SONG I LOVE THE PICS GREAT WORK

  • who sings this? plz answer! =] thanks heaps xo

  • Howdy, read the info! Thx

  • beautiful!

  • To me this is an awesome version of the song, and a perfect example of what a cover version should be. I think a cover version should offer a new interpretation of a song, rather than rehashing the original. Whether it is successful or not is an individual thing I guess.

  • well said.

  • Have you heard her crowded house song? its just as good...

  • Einfach Großartig.

  • Danke:)

  • Ahh I'm home - I wrote that I really liked Blasko's version on the cold chisel you tube clip and got a bad wrap haha. Her voice just beautiful

  • BARNES FORVER NEVER DIE

  • Fantastic, keep up the effort

  • What happened to this clip? When I click on it it says "this video is no longer available"! :(

  • Maybe it was a bug on youtube. The clip still here.

  • the lyrics are clearer now with blasko slowing the song down. superb song. loved the raspy barnes original and this one is great as well.

  • i lyk so love this song...sarah blasko is prob the best older female singers that i accually like. i love how this song is slow and calm i just wanna fall asleep listening 2 it.

  • Innisfail stinks.

  • Apparently Don Walker wrote the song from his memories of Grafton - "It's a song of lost love, of mortality and what's left behind"

  • well done.... love it so much.. sit back and listen to the lyrics and take it all in.. beautiful soul

  • I cant belive she made this song more beautiful than the original.

    Wonderful vid too

  • This is the only cover that I've heard that is better than the original. Sends a chill down my spine everytime I hear it.

  • Thx for all your comments.:)

  • she seems like a good artist, although this cover is definately the worst cold chisel cover ever.

don't take this the wrong way, but imo, all songs that have been covered are never and never will be as good as the original.

anyone tries to cover barnesy and mossy's music, then expect them to suffer. not for cold chisel, but for whoever covered the song.

  • Not completely true

The Living End's version of Rising Sun is better then the original but other then that I agree, it's impossible to recreate Barnes. The Living End pulled it off cause it was too slow in the first place.

But as for this. I'm sorry it just doesn't work for me. Too soft and slow.

  • You can't just take one particular cover, deem it superior to the original based entirely on your own opinion, and expect everyone to just accept it as fact.

I'm neither agreeing or disagreeing with you on the matter, I'm just saying everything comes down to personal opinion.

  • It does of course..but her voice allows for more reflection.

  • Innisfail is a mad city

  • Very heartwarming & well-produced. I've never heard either version of the song, so this works for me.

  • Blasko is such a cool artist.

  • COOL i loved it and 4 all of you's who didn't screw u

  • Really nice work. Great song, great pics.

  • Good effort. Great song good picks.

  • you are missing the point entirely listen again with your soul not just your ears

  • im with him.. this version just doesnt compare to jimmies

  • @aussiedud3 Probably because it's not overplayed and worn out.

  • thanks for the blasko version, to hear the contrast

  • thankyou for posting this ong

  • its a good cover of a good song like the vid by the way

  • Thanks.

  • some really nice family photos there. Australia right? what city?

  • Port Adelaide - most are pics from when my parents and relatives first migrated to Australia from Italy in the early 50's, and a couple were taken later on. People we still see now and then, and some that have since passed away.

  • ♥ the song

  • I love the song too.
