would u please recommend me the bkp in neck and bridge position for les paul custom that suitable for music style from blues to rock (ex.gary moore, joe bonamassa, aerosmith, ac/dc, gun n' roses, led zeppelin, metallica)?
Intalled a KA in the neck & a BK Warpig in the bridge yesterday & I will never settle for what Dimarzio,Emg or SD has to offer ever again. With these 2 Buckers....I can play ANY style & it Just sounds Better . BK may be pricey...but u get what u pay for. want a killer hot Pickup? Get a BK is all i can say. My KA compliments & balances out PERCTLY with the BK too. AWESOME.

if you've got a humbucker route on a strat I see no reason why you couldn't. I mean, these are meant to be Van Halen replicas and he played a strat-type guitar.
I had to make the hole bigger beneath the pickguard. But man it was all worth it! These pickups sounds amazing! In my vids my guitar is plugged straight into the soundcard, using cubase and GTR plugins. Check out my channel.
I am finding a pair of new pickup for my Gibson R9 to replace the stock pickups which i think are Burst Bucker 1&2; I play most rock, blues. want a fat, smooth tone, but not too aggressive. do you have any advise?
@suncrimson - I put a pair of Black Dog Humbuckers on my R9 Les Paul, it got more clearity, balance and drive the amp smoothly. I would suggest Black Dog. Thanks!!!
My experience with these pickups is that they are the best high gain pickups I have ever heard that also coil-tap realistically. I've played them through a very high gain tube amp and a mid-gain, and interestingly enough, coiltapped into very high gain will nail SRV and Hendrix-Damned nice on a humbucker that has the full humbucker tones also.
i have an ESP with active EMG's.... and by god i hate them...
but luckily i did the 18v mod(adding an extra battery in the circuit) and boom!!!! its like 50 times better
the signal isnt compressed any more, so the distortion and cleans sound much fuller and clearer. The bass and high's are a lot mor punchier and clearer too, wiht much better definition.
Seriously, if you have active EMG's, do the 18v mod, you will be much happier :D
I found out my bass had active pickups an hour before a gig I've had it since 2000-2? I may have changed it once when I first got it and forgot about it YEARS later Its my only bass so it gets a lot of use
I dont know the brand of pickup are in there But the whole battery thing is a non-issue with how long they last in there... Years really Ive had the same battery in there for almost two years now If you like the sound coming from actives... Do it.
Active basses and active guitar pickups are 2 VERY different things, EMGs and similar sound sterile and cold, an active bass just sounds punchier and more defined
yeah but it has all that compression of an active pickup so if u like compression then yeah thats good but personlay i like passivs because there way more open and wide were as emg's seem like there vaccume packed sound
Hi ! which BKP you recommend to with a PRS CU24 ?
Great Crystal Clean , Warm voicing overdrive ,prograasive type metal ?

@metal1324 - I think there is 7 strings Model, give Tim a call or email, I am sure he can sort that out.

@metal1324 any Bare Knuckle pickup you can get in 7 or 8 strings.

Is it possible to put them on a strat
endurancemusic 2 years ago
@endurancemusic - I think so. One of my friend put VH 2 Humbucker on James Tyler Studio Elite. That should do

it's about taste, isn't it? To me Dimarzios are craps ha ha ha

Tried the rebel yell, did not like it especially for the price, very ordinary. Put in a suhr aldrich.........much better !!!

I got Suhr Aldrich too. I found it a little harsh to me. But they came with Suhr Koa. So I don't change it.

theres a difference in tuning and tune. Tuning is what the guitar is tuned to and tune is a melody or song.

Kirk Hammet and James Hetfield aren't even that great of guitarists...Kirk use to be good but he's been going down. As for Zakk, zakk is just crazy.
EMG's are great but they're not very versatile as I see them. Plus they require a battery so that's kinda like "..what the"
Londonator10 3 years ago 4
i also think they are very lifeless and dull
alanjuell 3 years ago
Don't be so quick to put them down. I have an ESP with EMG's fitted and it's very versatile and the cleans are really quiet nice.

or you could not buy a guitar with shitty emgs and instead use seymour duncans, but either way...

erikmoua its the emg that gives the more raw, over driven sound..zakk wylde, kirk hammet and james hetfield all use emg
lolskkkds 3 years ago
yeah but it has all that compression of an active pickup so if u like compression then yeah thats good but personlay i like passivs because there way more open and wide were as emg's seem like there vaccume packed sound

yeah.. same here...
i like passives waaay more...
active pickups are like vaccum packed sound..
they sound amazing only on high gain..
however, the emg passives are really good...
trust me..
i can play george benson and opeth and SRV and dream theatre with the same pickups and they never sound odd...
cheers..

What is the main difference in tone between single coil and humbucker pickups?
TheAlmightyDom 3 years ago
singglecoils r better in clean sounds and humbuckers are better for distortions
ChiTownBears4life 3 years ago
single coils are brighter and have less low end
humbuckers are darker and have more low end
ignore the comment about what there best for, as thats irrelevant
