What ammo are you using? I have a P22 on order and I see the recommendation for it and others like the Sig Mosquito is HV .22LR. Is that the only type of ammo you can get that'll still cycle the action suppressed?
If you're going to spend $300-400, plus the tax stamp, go through all the red tape, and then wait three months to get back your approved form 4, PLEASE do not buy a shitty TAC suppressor. Invest your hard-earned money in a can from one of the better, more advanced companies like AAC, SWR or Gemtech. My personal recommendation for the P22 is the AAC Pilot. It's only 5'' long, and has a -41dB reduction DRY. The quietest there is!
Actually the Warlock is a bit quieter than the Pilot. The Tac-65 is not a bad can for the $ and it comes apart for cleaning. If you are looking for uber quiet..SWR Warlock or Cheyenne XXL from SRT. Sierra Manufacturing has a decent one as well.
The gun new will cost about 300. The suppresser after all the transfer taxes will be about 400-500. But try to find it used(not the suppresser) you can find them for a little over 200 or less even.
Oh hey dude, sorry I deleted your question which was like "so, can I own a suppressor?" I meant to hit REPLY but I clicked REMOVE by accident. To answer anyones curiosity about owning a suppressor... As long as it is LEGAL IN YOUR STATE and you have NOT BEEN CONVICTED OF A FELONY.. you are able to own a suppressor. You have to pay for the suppressor itself as well as a $200 transfer tax.
I was at a crowded range with other people shooting right next to me. Furthermore, hearing protection is required at this range. Had I not had people firing AR15s and .45s next to me, I wouldn't be wearing them :)

I've heard that supressers only lower the sound from a jet takeoff(sort of) to a jackhammer, but the vids show different. Can you tell me?

My dad recently got a YHM Cobra for his SIG 226. If you want to shoot fast, you should come to my range.

I was looking at the YHM mite actually :D

I am not impressed with either the Mite or Prodigy for being quiet. The take down is cool, but not nearly as quiet as many other 22 cans.
