Well these two maidens of metal have different voices tarja is a mezzo soprano properly classicly trained where as doro's voice has a earthy undertones and got one hell of a scream on her when the need's arise both outstanding voices both great front womwn in there own right.

@endairagoth She is a Choral Soprano, but has taken Soprano and Mezzo Soprano training. More to be said for her range. I remember listing to Warlock in the '80s. They kicked. Doro is best at at a course, metal-styled voice.

My opinion only......I don't care much for this duet.......I like the music, but not the singing between the two. I've never heard of Doro, but she sounds kinda like a young Madonna or something. No one can match or even beat Tarja's voice (except for maybe the lead singer of Within Temptation), and Tarja didn't even give it her all in this song, but perhaps that was purposefully.

@Dreddenoth Doro is was and always will be the first lady of female rock and metal come from germany and was in a band called warlock  witch was formed in the mid 1970's before going solo sometime in the mid eightys she is regarded as the gypsy of metal.

sthey should not background tarjas voice. Its a good voice, but on the live version tarjs part is stronger because the studio work is not quieting her voice to level with Doro's Doro is really good but Tarjas voice is made to be heard even over the loudest music. Its good though i like it

It was an attempt at trying to balance out the two voices. If both, Doro & Tarja would try to sing into the same mic at the same time, you would hardly hear Doro's voice. I sure don't envy the studio engineer that had to try to balance out the two voices
