WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I LOVE YOUR ASS MAN!!!!!!!! MISSION THE SHIT OUT OF THEM!!!!! RRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPTTTTTTTTTUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!! .....FUCK
He is going to recruit for the church mostly. Tracting and reporting his quotas to SALES Leader called Mission President. Yes he'll get to serve but recruiting and cementing the youth to the church is the real reason for a mission.
As much as you all are really nice sincere people in this Video, it breaks my heart to have to expose the LDS false claims and lies.
“But even if we or an angel from heaven (moroni) should preach to you a gospel other than what we have preached to you, curse be on him!” Galatians 1:6-9 Morman’s are not prepared for the coming apocalypse, Huge Sorrow will be to the morman who refuse to see the truth, You have been warned your fall will be great. Read the BIBLE ONLY!
@jonmahoney04 Yes, I do. Things like "when the prophet has spoken, all thinking is done," and sending out 50000 missionaries to turn people into apostates to their own faiths, in violation of your own 11th Article of Faith, getting more members, shunning those who see the truth and have to resign from the church, etc.
@jonmahoney04 no tolerating questions or critical inquiry, unreasonable fear of the outside world, no financial disclosure, people who leave are "offended" (even though that's not the truth), "the church is perfect, the people aren't" (the people ARE the church, no?), you're never good enough, "sometimes the truth isn't a good thing," absolute authoritarianism without meaningful accountability, would you like to know more?
@sffilk A cult is "a system of religious belief and worship." So sure, I'm part of a cult. I'm not sure why you assume I'm deluded but I suppose you're entitled to you own opinion.
@jonmahoney04 I say what I do based on what I typed above. All of what I typed is true and applies to the Mormon cult (other things like "I know the church is the ONE TRUE church" or "the Catholic church is the great and abominable satan"), just for starters. The Mormon cult is not just a cult; it is a DESTRUCTIVE CULT which calls for the end of days and saying that only those who follow it will survive. Would you like to know more?
@jonmahoney04 And more: no independently audited financial statement; no legitimate reason to leave, former followers are always wrong in leaving, negative or even evil; "better you'd never been born than to have left the church" or "better you'd never been born than being gay"; the group/leader is always right; the group/leader is the exclusive means of knowing "truth" or receiving validation, no other process of discovery is really acceptable or credible. Want to know more?
@jonmahoney04 A few questions: did you actually convert someone who stayed in for more than the time you were there? Did you actually feel like you accomplished anything? Did you remember the 11th Article of Faith when people told you "no?"
@jonmahoney04 A cult is "a religion or sect considered to be false, unorthodox, or extremist, with members often living outside of conventional society under the direction of a charismatic leader. "
@sffilk You say this because I didn't respond within 24 hours? I don't see what you're trying to accomplish. Your understanding of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is clearly a little distorted. You are entitled to believe what you wish.
@jonmahoney04 You were responding more quickly. Oh, and what I wrote is all based, 100% on TRUTH, no distortion, guaranteed. Matter of fact, a lot of it came from your present and former "prophets, seers and revelators" own actions, things like, "I don't think we teach that," for instance. Show me any proof that what I wrote is wrong, and I'll listen.
@jonmahoney04 My understanding is based upon what I've been told by missionaries, by Mormons, and by my own research (through Mormon-approved sources).
@jonmahoney04 You avoided the issue. You know as well as I do that Russia stopped extending missionary visas. You are starting practice for your mission but avoiding telling the truth, and by hiding the less savory elements of the church. Milk before meat.
DUUUUUUUUUUUDE!!!!!!!!!!! IS that elder howald in this video (the one with red hair). I know him! I was in his ward in misouri. where is he serving (where do you live?) thats cool tell him hi if you can. I was watching it and then BAM there he is weird....
@jonmahoney04 thats too bad. but man thats weird. I moved from MO a while ago and he was in my seminary class back in the day. I should be gettin my call this weekend (this is week 5) the suspense is killin
oh man russia sounds awesome i told my bishob i was shooting for the yukon lol,or snow, because so.cal gets none =D but i cant wait to find out,in jan.
Too bad on getting the mission call changed, eh? I just barely left the Russia Moscow Mission, which left them all Canadian-less. Just kidding-it's not too bad. I hear the Kiev Mission is great. Say hi to my MTC-mates (Miller, Tueller, Cushing) if you happen to meet them.
May the Lord be with you this week, Elder, as you prepare to leave on your mission. He will be...you are doing His work. He will bless you, and you will bless the lives of the people you meet. Yes, "just one voice", but what a voice! His and yours blended together to teach His gospel.
Congratulations Elder Mahoney!! *thumbs up* Good luck to you and your family as you serve in Moscow Russia!! :) I know you'll do well. :) Again, Good luck to you, Elder Mahoney!!
I'm curious, why didn't anyone say you were going somewhere in the USA? It almost seems as if they find those missions here not very interesting, and kind of looked down upon..
Yeah, unfortunately that can be true sometimes. I think the reason they guessed other countries is that I already speak some other languages and I've lived in different countries.
Some missionaries actually do want to serve but don't want to learn a new language. Also, some missionaries have health issues which would be hard to take care of if they were assigned to a third world country. When you fill out your mission papers, all consideration is given concerning the missionary and their needs. Every mission has unique challenges ....but it's the people that you meet and teach that makes the mission so rewarding.
Response to GodoftheChimps: It's true...everyone anticipates the glorious foreign mission (hear the clapping?) If he was called to the Provo Utah Mission, you probably wouldn't see the video posted here
I don't believe that. Every mission has amazing things about it. I've been out with the missionaries in 5 missions in 3 countries and I know that I am going where the Lord wants me.
Oh Dearest, what a treat that was to share this special moment with you, I have tears streaming down my face. God bless you for making the choices that made this possible--the lives of countless, including your own will be infinitely and exponentially influenced for good for your willingness to serve. With all my heart, I will pray for you while you are on your mission, take a piece of it with you and share my channel, BookofMormonReader with anyone you feel inspired to. Perfect music choice.
Wow..that's SUPER!!!! I'm not even LDS but I'm in awe you are willing to dedicate 2 years of your life to preaching the Gospel and bringing the "Good News". You will receive countless blessings and graces (as will your family)and I'll keep you in my prayers (albeit, Catholic ones!!!). Best of luck, Elder!!!
Hey huge congratulations man, I hope you do awesome on your mission. I report to the MTC this Wednesday to prepare for my mission in Vladivostok, Russia. It brings me great joy to know that there will be such great missionaries like you out there in Russia while i'm serving.
My paperwork is going through right now...I'm so nervous!

@jonmahoney04 Was the church spokesman being dishonest when he said that missions in Russia were being suspended. Two links:
