Syria has ties to Al-Queda. There is also evidence of large amounts of nuclear materials moved into Syria from Iraq via trucks fitted with centrifuges. The New Yorker obviously just wants attention. I think it was malicious and offensive, and they knew it but since they're a liberal publication it throws everyone for a loop and gets them reading the magazine again. Plus, the New Yorker is very old-fashioned and may have a little bit of beef against Obama, and the fact that hometown girl Hillary lost. I remember how excited NY publications were when it appeared that it was going to be a Hillary vs. Giuliani vs. Bloomberg situation.

I like how his followers are often asked, what major accomplishments has Obama had? He gave a speech at the 2004 Democrat Convention... uh and served a term as state Senator and that's about it.
Also, he always spoke of the evils of campaigns using tons of money and promised to stick with public funding... until he's rich liberal elitist followers poured in vast millions then he went back on his word, like he does over and over.
