  • shoulda played WHO LET THE DOGS OUT!!

  • Read "The Plague Dogs" if you want perspective from both sides.

Caring for animals is not exclusive of caring of humans. I give a crap about animals being used in experiments AND children starving in third world countries. Why does it always have to be one or the other with some people? It's stupid.

  • chimps dont smile with happiness - that's a fear grin because they are nervous about the newness of the outside world. The hugging is reassurance for each other, again an anxiety reaction. I wish you people would learn to read up on such things and not assume.

  • @kazziebabe11 What a sad man you are...

  • @SavageLatinoKid He's right though, if anyone has got an interest in chimps they know this :)

  • @kazziebabe11 Of course they're nervous about the outside world, dumbass! They've never seen the light of day! In any case, if they're so fearful, then howcome they're running around like there's nothing wrong?

  • I smiled when the chimps went outside and got to see daylight.:) They must be really happy!

  • Wow, you thought that a song from The Killers would be the most appropriate soundtrack for this video? You gotta be kidding me.

  • lmao 1:11 it looked like the bottom one was smiling looking around like "yea nigga we out this bitch."

  • when they hugged each other, i started bawling. they finally are free(: i hope one day, all animals are free from testing.

  • @FlyWithMeStories without animal testing medical science would be put to a halt.

  • @elphaphoenix there are other alternatives. they have a human simulator that will react like a human would. So animal testing is unnecessary. Its inhumane to keep testing on animals when another alternative is available.

  • I wouldn't call sunshine in a pen freedom, but whatever I guess.

  • Why do we reserve feelings of joy as human emotions? Can we please drop the terminology of 'anthropomorphism' and realise that the feelings we experience are not reserved for just us and that all creatures have the capacity to feel love, warmth, joy and happiness. Just because they express it differently means nothing.

  • 30 years about f### time

  • One word, Beautiful.

  • The chimps at the beginning aren't laughing, they're showing what is called a fear grin. That's means they're scared.

  • The hug in 1:10 is really touching!

  • This is incredibly fucked.

  • Bravo Humans ! we've become worse than animals , n we wonder why theres wars , why cant they put convicted murderers in labs instead of innocent animals ??? , it would be better cooz we're developing drugs for humans.

  • Im happy for the primapes

    :D

  • I hope everyone realizes that without primate testing we would not have the prescription medications or vaccines that I'm sure we all enjoy.

  • whoever disliked this should be locked up without sunlight. man, some people are such assholes, how and why would u do that to an animal? they are so beautiful.

  • whoever disliked this are fat shits

  • so whats the solution to this society?VEGANISM !!fuck yeah!

  • Spankydeep, I would love so much to lock your ass up with a houseful of gorillas, and show your punk ass who's superior. People who think or comment such as you, should not be permitted to breathe let alone mate. Do the world a favor, jump off the nearest bridge...

  • Comment removed

  • But they did that cause of our health, science and medicine experience. But still poor monkeys. They are assholes. Luv monkeys

  • The hug @ 1:08 made me burst into tears.

  • Good work,30 years about F##### time

  • @spankydeep

Read animal farm by Orwell. Yes it's ultimately about communism, but hey, the pigs decide to walk on two legs and try to become humanlike as they believe that that would be the superior way, turns out it isn't. Who says that animals, any animals have less rights to a happy life than humans? No-one that's who, as we all have the right. So, get a grip!!!

  • wtf are those monkeys doing?? there's more research to be done!!

  • Someone called "spankydeep" is claiming that s/he is superior to animals because s/he is human. Oh, the irony!

We are superior? Why, because we insist we are? Where is the impartial arbiter determining that? Besides, no creature which destroys its own habitat (as humans so aggressively and consistently do) could ever accurately call themselves "superior". Einstein you ain't, spankydeep.

  • @susykat There is no final arbiter. We are superior for one simple reason - given the choice you would drown a kitten if it would save the life of your own child.

    Deny that you wouldn't.

I'm not in favor of mistreating animals, or humans for that matter. But I'm alive because someone tested medicines on animals. So are you.

  • @Underbat1 "Dr. Edward Kass of Harvard Medical School, asserts that the "primary credit for the virtual eradication of these diseases must go to improvements in public health, sanitation and the general improvement in the standard of living." These benefits have nothing to do with animal studies." Just because you think something sounds right does not make it so. Im sure you did tons of research on animal studies before attributing all the great discoveries made because of it.

  • @Hangshai Thank you for giving this knot-head a proper education, I get so tired of arguing with ppl I figure don't possess the required I.Q. to tie their own shoe laces, I've just mostly got to the point that they are not worth the waste of my time so I ignore them.

  • That is not laughter. IT is terror. Imagine being so frightened of the outside.

  • lmao when they hug each other

  • The message in the song? Let me save you some time, no they are not humans and never will be. This is not planet of the apes.

There are too many people who think animals are more important than humans. You are delusional and should seek help if you think your dog is a member of your family. If you need a kidney, all your dog can do is lick your hand while you die.

I am pretty sure if they could lock us up and do testing to save chimp lives they would.

We are superior. End of story

  • @spankydeep If i could lock you up and do testing to save chimps, i would!

  • those who are the strongest will rule others.

we do it because we can.

  • @sgrdaddy76 who gives a fuck about faggot ass humans who do nothing but destroy Earth and now wanna destroy space... go fuck yourself, no once cares about you.

saving a human.. LOL like any of us could care less bout u...

  • @ sgrdaddy76 the song has message idiot, listen to it, i think it was tastefully done, yes i know they need to test things, do agree it should be animals NO, but if they must they should not be locked up 24/7 they at least should have an out door enclosure to go to i think we should test the next batch on you @sgrdaddy and they are more human than you think!

  • One way you can help other primates still being tortured is to visit

primatefreedom (dot) com, there are alot of groups and sanctuaries out there that are trying to help these poor animals, I remember one story about a lab chimp who after she died they discovered she'd had atleast 40 liver biopsys. You can also do a search for the word vivisection if you can stomach what you'll be viewing....

  • Actually, small pox and other diseases commonly know as afflictions of the poor were hugely on the decrease before any animal testing was ever started mostly due to improved living condtions, better housing, nutrition, hygiene, health and sanitation.

  • @AwohaliSagwu

You are utterlly wrong about Smallpox, and even polio. Want to know how Tetanus injections come about?

Of course, evidently you are an anti-vaxxer. Go figure.

  • @Underbat1 Have you ever heard of Thalidomide? How about the fact that the Polio vaccine developed by Salk caused Cancer, and that there were methods around at the same time that DID NOT involve animal testing with similar if not superior capabilities. No, I bet you didnt know that, because you are a pseudo-intellectual that tailors you're scientific views to fit in with your personal/political ones. Your ignorance is disgusting.

  • @Hangshai LOL. Polio Vaccine caused Cancer? LOL, an anti-vaxxer. How idiotic.

Got evidence that passes any scientific criteria? Thought not.

Thak God and scientists for vaccines.

THalidomide? Of course I've heard of it.

I've also heard of the smallpox vaccine. And to the idiot who claims that it was eliminated by hygein??? Leant a bit of history.

  • @Underbat1 Before you make an ass out of yourself by assuming things, why dont you look up the SV40 foundation, and read the article that was reprinted from the Albany Law journal of Sciences & Technology. 10-30% of the vaccines were tainted with SV40, which causes cancer, up until 1963. The tainted samples were replaced after 63, but never recalled. Asshole. There, now you've 'leant' a nit of history. Dumb ass.

  • @Hangshai Seems you got a bit of a grudge match going on.

  • Lol, i've never seen a nigger get out of prison before.

  • The way they are acting is so human, how can anyone believe chimpanzees are just mindless animals. They have been observed in the wild acting altruistically by giving food to other hungry members of their troop, they have been observed mourning their dead. It's unfortunate that some people believe humans are the only intelligent animal.

  • Science does not need animals in this day and age, probably never did! - its just cheaper and an excuse to experiment. There are other methods. Drugs that work on animals can damage human and vice versa. We are supposed to be the ingelligent species so why don't we show it instead of being cruel and destroying everything. Look at those chimpanzees and then tell me that animals do not feel emotion !!!

  • @alice5762 Easy to say that since you're alive and healthy ;)

  • @alice5762

If it wasn't for animal testing, you probably would have died of small pox or something. It may be cruel but it has increased human survival rates many fold.

  • How can 2 people not like this vid, you have to be dead of emotion not to like this vid.

  • @barmyarmy3 Maybe the chimps scared them. They are a bit freaky.

  • I cried when I saw this video. Freedom at last! Let us hope they live in comfort and with out fear for the rest of there lives. these intelligent creatures deserve the best life now. The world is a rotten place, the more I look at it the more rotten it becomes. Great video.

  • lol, they're not laughing and hugging in happiness- it's fear and suspicion.

But once they saw it was safe, they reacted with happiness.

  • I hate all of mankind. I would kill you all, if I had the means.

  • @MrNividium A typing chimp. You should upload a video.

  • No, You're not human.

  • I just cried and cried and cried so much after watching this, it filled me with joy for the chimps and anger for the evil, heartless filth that did this to them i hope very bad things happen to them

  • fabulous coverage, although the music was not needed. A bit of commentary from those who worked hard to make this all happen, along with names of the chimps or more real knowledge would have been so much better than the cheesy song. As for other commenters making light of this with silly jokes about make-up etc: there are millions of animals in cages around the world, subjected to shortened, fear-filled lives. Just try to imagine one day of such captivity, then realize how empty you are

  • i'm so disappointed that that song is by The Killers ...

  • So Awesome, this is totally fantastic. Go Vegan.

  • This is Brian dowling please dont swear we r live on TV.... YOU HAVE ALL BEEN EVICTED from the big brother house!

  • @dangerousdazza your total scum

  • im all for treating animals fairly but i'd prefer for tests to be done on animals which could eventually cure aids or hepatitis

  • @ihatebfc cheers mate

  • @semiskimmedbeats Wow, your just so informed and educated on the subject.... I'm always interested in learning new things, which cures have been developed or not delayed by decades using animals testing?

  • @AwohaliSagwu i didnt say anything had been cured you helmet just that if tests have to be done i'd prefer them to be done on an animal as opposed to my mum

  • @semiskimmedbeats Did you know that something like 97% of all animal testing does not transfer over into human test subjects with the same results see during testing on animals and that most medical advances come from sick but very brave ppl who are willing to try new treatments in an attemp to save their life,,, Did you know that cancer dates back to egyptian times, that the first recorded case of Alzheimer's Disease was over 100 years ago, that misdiagnosis/application in animal testing delayd

  • @AwohaliSagwu polio research for over 2 decades or that when so-called scientist began animal testing aka vivisection they thought that the same blood circulated through out the body repeatedly. Did you also know that at places like yerkes where they claim to be looking for a cure for aids they have developed strains of HIV/AIDS that exist nowhere else in the world, some might call things like that a bioweapon. Please do your own reasearch into vivisection, you'll understand it's all about money

  • @AwohaliSagwu bye nerd

  • @AwohaliSagwu

    Polio among other advances.

  • @leinad667 In 1907 Dr Wickman correctly determined through the study of actual human cases that the route of polio infection was through the gastrointestinal tract, however in 1908 scientist using old world monkeys who were exceptionally susceptible to polio said they had discovered polio and that it only affected the central nervous system, through animal testing this myth persisted for over 25 years therefor delaying advacement in the field of polio research. Read A History of Poliomyelitis.

  • The best you tube clip ever. So happy for these animals, watched it about a dozen times.

  • i hate this song

  • Shame on the humans that are cruel to animals- what goes around comes around

  • @Mscuquio That's true. One bit a ladies face off recently.

  • This is a rescue facility you morons not a testing one.

  • I could watch that video all day. Absolutely brilliant :-)

  • Freedom never felt so good..

  • wow,I hardly ever cry but i was choking back tears.they looked so happy to finally be outside!

  • How sad it is that we think we are the most evolved species yet we show the most cruelty.

  • Out of adversity comes such a beautiful and positive new beginning

  • For anyone that wishes this on a human: The Nazis already did it. That's right PETA....YOU'RE FUCKING NAZIS!

  • This is actually a prison in georgia.

  • @Viralpony Do you mean an actual prison or Emory University aka Yerkes Primate Research Center?

  • I love a good story, but I think in reality the "smiles" seen in this video are actually a sign of fear or anxiety - according to eHow when searching for Interesting Chimpanzee Facts, and completely understandable in these circumstances - and suspect the hug was also out of need for comforting rather than celebration. Still will bet by now they are truly much happier in their new digs. Despise the use of animals for testing, NOT NECESSARY.

  • if we didn't test on monkeys, we wouldn't have maybelline makeup, and that'd be a tragic loss

  • @ClickFrankieFTW Good thing they have other makeup like urban decay and e.l.f.

  • @ClickFrankieFTW Yeah we would have an epidemic of very very ugly girls.

  • who gave humans the right to experiment on animals ?................if they want to experiment, then do it on humans.

  • My god. <3

  • 1 person has been locked up since the day s/he was born, just left with an Internet connection and a shitty computer!

  • Absolutely fantastic, such a happy ending :)

  • FREEDOMMMMMMMMMMMMM

  • ¡LIBERACION HUMANA!

    ¡LIBERACION ANIMAL!

  • when he looked at the other chimp and hugged him my heart broke..they know and feel like we do

  • @themaNefre You are so right! People talk about how smart they are, but treat them like this. Such a disgrace.

  • im so happy for them they look so shocked and happy . this cant be the beginning we have to free animals like that its just not right.

  • I couldn't stop wondering how anyone could feel in captivity, at the mercy of humans, whether they be animal or other humans themselves. My heart broke when I saw how human these animals were, and the happiness that showed in their faces was unmistakable.

  • @arkangelblue helpless, extreme depression, unexplainable rage out of pure defence, no hope, feeling of a useless cycle. The question why comes about alot,

It is estimated that 15%-20% of the inmates in the United States are innocent of the crimes they have been convicted of. Many are the victims of unjust government policies.

  • The United States Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Statistics, admits that statistically 8% to 12% of all state prisoners are either actually or factually innocent.

The average annual cost of keeping the 29 hostages shown above is about $638,000.

If 15% of Ohio's inmates are innocent (around 6,800) at an average annual cost of $21,872 per prisoner, you are paying over $148.7M each year for the state to hold them hostage.

  • huchison82, I think you're right - it is a fear response. However, it seems fairly obvious to me that maybe it's a bit like us humans going on a white knuckle ride - we're scared but WE LOVE IT!!!!

  • Fucking disgusting that anyone could keep those animals captive in a lab. They should be put in prison.

  • @alwayswinit4real Did you even read the description you fucking idiot. They were being helped not tested on.

  • @spopple88 Yes I did read it you fucking moron.

"The 38 chimps were taken from their mothers shortly after they were born and kept in a research facility in Austria. They were used for tests based on diseases such as HIV and hepatitis and kept in isolation."

  • @alwayswinit4real

Tell them that the next time you get sick and need medicine, or lets not go so far the next time you wash your hair.

  • @alwayswinit4real put in prison??? chain the men and women responible to a fricking wall for 30 years and sedate them everyday and lets see how they like it. sorry but i cannot not stand animal cruelty. our race is seriously fucked up.

  • 1:09 Pretty awesome.

  • They are not laughing its a chimp fear response. smiling in chimps is closed lipped as opening the mouth is a threat..

  • Comment removed

  • @hutchison82 I think they fear and smile at the same time there, it's a mixture of both for them at that point.

  • so glad for these gorgeous animals.

  • Is it me or do they all have boners ha ha BRING ON THE GOAT/FROG!!

  • Imagine something similar happening to the human race ...

  • @lapacker It does, and some vegans are quite happy to wear clothes made by them, eat food grown by them and snort coke harvested by them plus use mobiles and computers with materials that cause carnage in Africa to obtain plus use Iphones made by Chinese workers so unhappy that they've had to put nets underneath the factory windows to stop them from hitting the ground when they throw themselves out. But as long as you're chewing a few beans instead of a chicken leg then you're 'doing your bit'

  • how can chimps live that long infected with a deadly virus?

  • @hivquestions

The virus doesn't affect monkeys in the same way as humans, I think monkeys have a much better immune system or something??

  • @187781jason thats what they want you to think - the media and politicians do not want you to know the truth
