@deviant3232 lol yep but some people can't grasp that members of catch 22 joined streetlight : / and the others just want to say they where on the internet...
@TheKeeper3131 The bassline doesn't compliment the song as well as Catch 22's version. It's clearly a good bassline, but it doesn't fit with the music as well. Having that opinion definately is not suggesting I could do better, or that i don't appreciate music. I hope you feel a little bit foolish.
Because Tomas wrote all of Keasbey Nights when he was still in Catch 22. And then he formed Streetlight Manifesto and they did covers of the entire album
He also didn't want it to be re-released untouched, in The label was planing to re-release it with catch 22's recordings...my opinion streetlights version sounds so much better than the catch 22's
@ThrashisBack6 Tomas Left Before They Recorded it, since he had partial rights because he wrote the cd he rereleased it the way it was supposed to be recorded.
how did he leave before they recorded it? arent his vocals on Catch 22's Keasbey? i know the CD credits him and at the end of 12341234 he talks for a bit
I think Neckoslash means before the rest of Catch 22 re-recorded Keasbey. Then Kalnoky went and did it again? I don't think that was his reason for leaving though . He did go on to university when he left after all.
Actually, he left before they Re-Released it. He was around for Catch 22's first Keasbey Nights, and played guitar and vocals on it. Then the rest of Catch wanted to "sell out" in a sense, and re-release Keasbey to make more money, with slightly better sound, because they wanted more money. Tomas was against selling out, so he left.
Yet some people nowadays calling Tomas a sellout. Like really, wtf.
I think catch 22 was the Band before and shit happened in the band... so 3 or 4 guys just quit the Band and started Streetlight Manisfesto.. But Both singer has probably written songs So who will keep songs... I think they just decide to keep singing all songs in their respective band.. Or something like that...
Kalnocky was the genius behind Catch 22. He's like a re-incarnated ol' skool punk rocker fused with some crazy bits of other genres!
Nobody in the World is quite like Tomas! xD .....Streetlight Manifesto is miles ahead of everybody, including his old bands living off his Legacy! ;P ...he's one of a kind!
ok so there was this genius called tomas kalnoky who was in a band called catch 22, they made a few albums. one of those albums was keasbey nights. then they fell out and tomas left, but catch 22 kept going singing songs that he'd written. so tomas formed BOTAR and then streetlight manifesto and decided to rerecord keasbey to keep it his.
Thomas did most of his writing in either college or with his Pre-Streetlight Bands. Catch22, botar, Gimp. when he formed streetlight, he felt that the recording on Catch 22's Keasby Nights was very poor and he wanted to remake it.
Its the same shit as Catch22 ! Or catch22 is the same shit as this . Both are great .. Ok non I prefer Catch22 . And yeah I want to share this with all of you . ;)
streetlight is better... catch 22 is good but they should not play toms songs anymore cause they are his and it makes them look bad.. i liked dinosaur sounds tho
Streetlight's Singer can't be better than Catch 22's because, they are the exact same man, the band is the difference, maybe Kalnoky made changes to his singing in Streetlight so he is just performing better with Streetlight
I just saw these guys at warped in Pamona and they were by far the best band i saw, if you have the chance to see them live go, you wont regret it, ska pits are crazy!
personally, i don't want ska to become popular cause i'm fucking sick of trendy dicks "falling in love" with music for a few months and then going to the next, i really don't want that with ska
everyone says they started it at their school, but i really think that did. lol i made a page on myspace that had the best ska songs on it and people in my school caught on. seahorsecore is what they page is called.
Oh yeah this was also the first streetlight song I heard I think at a mates party. It came on and during the woah part, all these dudes started jumping around, woahing. Everytime I hear it I think of good pals and that seeing those dudes jumping around.
Are you an idiot...the reason ska isn't on the radio and famous these days is because it would just become another trend and if thats what you want your a retard...trends wear out and really ska was a trend and now its worn out and now people are starting to like it again but the people who play it dont want it to be big again
your the idiot for thinking that music is bad just because it gets famous. thats just like saying you only like music that is famous. keep an open mind.
the fact of the matter is of course bands are going to get good publicity when they are famous but of course there comes the negativity as well and really I dont know if you know any ska bands personally but I do and they dont want to deal with the negativity that comes with fame and fortune...they place the music because they believe that they are helping people and because its fun...not for the money
if they don't want to deal with the negativity that comes with fames, great for them! but get fame doesn't means to get fortune.
what i mean is, get fame doens't mean your music will get worst, not if you only care for the music and not the money. they can buy you if you don't get sell
Well thats what I am meaning...like ska could have came back at anytime but people chose to stay underground because of all that fame and fortune shit
I had to poop but then I listened to this song. I no longer had to poop. Anyone else experience this?
