I wasn't upset whatsoever when Cave In signed to a major label years back, but the fact that they came whimpering back after that commercial failure to the hardcore scene that abandoned them is way worse. They were cocky and arrogant when they released Jupiter/Tides of Tomorrow/Antenna and now they have their tail between their legs with a slew of new bad albums to boot. I've been a fan since Beyond Hypothermia, but what a damned shame.
@murtazax Jupiter kicks your fucking ass. And both Planets of Old/White Silence have been met with great reviews from people far more respectable than yourself. Troll elsewhere.
@davethehostage Not so with Pitchfork. I just read a review (on Pitchfork) that gave Jupiter a 4.9 (out of 10). I was stunned. I haven't even heard the full album yet, but the songs I have heard here on youtube are works of art. There is so much that is just perfect about those songs I'm hearing.
@Warstub I hate to speculate, but after reading the review, it sounds like that guy might just be a shithead. Pitchfork seems to be absolutely full of shitheads that deliberately listen to an album with the intent of despising it.
Personally, I prefer Sputnikmusic as far as album reviews go. People seem a little more grounded and humble there.
@NNICKKK Whoops! Nah, I know Luminance, and have the EP, I just couldn't make it out (I prefer their melodic stuff) - didn't even realize CAvis3208 provided a setlist ;)
This reminds me of when I saw them in Baltimore New Years Day 1999 with Dillinger and Converge. Just so intense and awesome. The new album is up to par with all of their other material. They have my eternal respect!
You're the man CAvis. From a guy who's probably never gonna experience them live this is pure gold. Thank you for this and all the other shows you put up on Dime and TradersDen back in the day :)
@christophrendeavor panasonic gs300 miniDV camcorder. it is a few years old now. i have to admit, it mainly looks good because the lighting was awesome. makes my job a lot easier.
That guy up front at the beginning gives music photographers a bad name. What an annoying little cunt. DON'T USE YOUR LIVE VIEW RETARD. DON'T SPRAY AND PRAY. UGGH. If I was shooting this show i'd have slapped the shit.
