When she had noticed that she had killed sakuya (she eventually recovers), she is shocked out of her craze, and it is by sheer will and sadness that she gains control of her powers. Their tale is a sad one...

They attacked in a frenzy, Remilia bursting out towards the moon. When she dove back to the cell Flandre had reached complete bloodlust insanity, killing the parents and tearing off their heads. Flandre was imprisoned in the basement by Remilia in order to keep her and everyone else safe.

If I were to decide what this is about, I would say that it is a tale of the scarlet's origins. Remelia falls asleep, and dreams about the day they became vampires. Their parents locked them in a cell for vampirification, but when they did go through with it, something happened. The power that they got was so great it caused their form to alter and their abilities were awoken. However they were young, I'm going to say 13 for Remilia and 8 for Flandre, too young to properly control their powers.

it may be that before they realized their vampire abilities they were ordinary humans who were abused by their parent/guardians etc. and were allowed minimal contact to the outside world, when remilia saw the moon for the first time her abilities awoke. and seeing as she had never used them before she went on a frenzy unable to retain her powers and was fueled by her suffering to be heartless to anyone but her sister, who also was abused as she was and awoke at the same time (look at top post)

I also noticed Flan said something around 2:20. Methinks she said "gomen" (sorry). This may be because even though those people she killed were evil to them they still took care of the Scarlets. Another theory I have is maybe she started the killing which led to mroe killing and she's apologizing for causing all of it. As far as Sakuya's deceased corpse goes (I cried) Remi was senslessly killing those around her and didn't realize she killed "someone close to her".Over analyzing? Maybe.

Well, here's what I think. This PV is to show what life was or could have been like for the Scarlet Sisters when they used to live in the outside world before Yukari brought them to Gensokyo via Boarder control. This being said it can be safely assumed that the Sakuya that lay dieing in the dream could very possibly be the original Sakuya that Remilia had killed in her past. The current Sakuya was a Vampire Hunter who attacked Remila was was given the name Sakuya when Remilia changed her fate out of pity.

Actually, the Scarlet Devil Mansion was first in the Human Realm. Remilia and Flandre were abused as children, it seemed. One night during the red moon, Remilia's vampire instincts kicked in, and her and her sister killed everyone in the mansion. At some point, the mansion and its people were forgotten, and thus transported into Gensokyo. Remilia was never scared of Vampire Hunters. She fought them freely.
