  • Amazing, You really put your heart into it. :)

  • The dude is practically ripped... u cnt play a guitar with beautiful piece of music with a ripped body... this is not right.. :P

  • Thank you. That was beautifully done.

  • Thank you. That was beautifully done.

  • magnifique!!!!

  • Is this in any special tuning?

  • I knew that by clicking on the video with the asian i'd find a great video

  • I'm not big on this. Not to take anything away from the guy in the video, he done a great job. I just don't think the piece is that great on the guitar. The guitar doesn't really do the piece justice.

  • absolutely beautiful ! n __ n

  • PUKKA BRO ; )

  • Only critique would be the tone and be sure to play the note for the full duration. Great job though!

  • and than he pulls out his katana.

  • Muscular tough guy playing smooth classical piece = win & awesome

  • very well, but , as a modest advice, try tu keep the tempo when the first voice begins, everything else is good^^

  • WOW - hauntingly beautiful. And great on the guitar - I would not have imagined.

  • great!

  • thanks for not rushing. very beautifully played

  • agree, thanks for not rushing

  • ahh my favorite song

  • I prefer your clean version, closer to Satie's original mood for it, from other ones circulating here on Youtube; those sort of kill the melancholy with pretentious and unnecessary ornaments, faster tempo and deleted silences.

Your job is good. keep it up.

  • Excellent job.

  • Great talent much love to the original and music in gen...

  • even though i prefer to play it some slower, im really really impressed. very nice version of this lovely piece!

  • ***** BEAUTIFUL TOM *****

  • very minimalist. Satie would be proud.

  • one of my favourite pieces excellently executed!!!!5****** congrats greetings and respect from Bram D., Holland

  • lol some1 tell me how to "kindly eatly a dick" lol explain that !!!!!

  • nice job man, any tab for this? would be great if u can provide

  • there are many tabs of this on the net. For example good page :classtab . org.

  • Beautiful. Thank you!

  • such a peaceful song, well played and awesome hair!

  • i think we guitarists must resist the temptation to roll any of the chords in this piece. while pretty and a nice idiomatic expression, i don't find it an effective interpretation of satie's work.

  • I agree 100% nero. It's difficult to avoid adding those little flourishes, but for a piece like this you *have* to stop yourself, or the music suffers.

  • I would admit if he played it poorly, but kindly eat a dick. The man clearly knows this piece, and played it according to his own instincts, that's what music is meant to be. You are the people who will accept the most horribly made hollywood film with the most empty interpretation so long as it contained all the scenes from the book it was based on. Accuracy is not quality.

  • "kindly eat a dick" ?? wow, that's the first time I ever read that expression. Youtube comments are a world of fun to be enjoyed ahah

  • Well, at least he said to do it kindly...

  • I know man, I know... I too was touched by the generosity in the choice of words ahahah :)

  • @VariedInterest

    Best comment ever.

  • I couldn't more strongly disagree. It is our duty as guitarists to render any and all interpretations of the original composer's work. If we never made it our own then we're nothing more than recording machines and all versions would sound the same. I personally add vibrato to some of the notes. The effect was so good as to make my wife (a piano teacher) stop playing the piece on the piano.

  • roll chords? what's that?

  • 02/09/09 Thanks for this video....great work. Very pleasant to listen to.

  • very nice! and second... do you play violin, or perhaps viola? because your lefthand's fingers are a bit more curved than most guitar players (in my opinionated observation, anyways). but that's awesome!

  • I only know a little bit about classical guitar, but this is the finger positioning I was taught for playing classical. It is different from the "normal" way of playing guitar though, where your fingers are more straight.

  • yes, i can see. unfortunately, i do not know much myself. I wish to learn, but am so busy playing my other instruments i barely have time for guitar! well, it sounds beautiful!

  • i think every guitarists in the world had its on way to play their guitar...

  • ok, most cool, now i wanna learn it. hail satie!

  • This is great.

  • duuuuuude... !!!!!!!!!!!!! nice!!

  • just played this at the office at work, changed the nature of the day for everyone. cheers

  • Wonderful performance of this piece.

If you have a minute, please give my version a listen.

  • At first I didn't like the sound of it on a guitar, but I carried on listening and you won me round, it was very nice.

  • Ah wonderful! Most of Erik's work can be played on guitar, but this is by far my favourite ^_^ If you could play gnossienne on guitar, if you haven't already, that would be a pleasure to hear! Thank you for the music, dear.

  • q bien!!!!

  • Very well played. You have done justice to the original piano classic. Keep it up! It is a beautiful song.

  • This best of you I've seen so far. 6 strs.

Man 3 years self-taught. You play awesome and some fulte and YOU WILL BE FIRST CLASSICAL GUITAR MAN WHO DO TUMBLING AND DO IT WAY EXCELLENTE

    Friendly BlueJazzyClassic

  • ¡TÚ SÍ QUE VALES!

  • GREAT PERFORMANCE! can i have your own version of gymnopedie in guitar thanks!

  • I loved this, and i love your hair, lol. For clarification, this is by Erik Satie (the shortened name of Alfred Éric Leslie Satie)

  • Well done! ...and thanks for not rushing it.

  • Thanks!

  • Can we leave his hair out of this (you're just jealous because it's shiny and bouncy) and focus on the actual piece? I think the guitar rendition is very good... it can definitely flow better, and with more practice you can achieve that.

    Keep it up!

  • sounds like 3. very good either way.

  • er...i've been listening to 1 and thinking it's 3...sorry about that.

  • Well no, I have to rectify myself Trois Gymnopedie 1, 2 and 3 are by Satie, Claude was just his great fan who orchestrated Satie´s Gymnopedies. Sorry about that! The pice of composition that I saw signed by Debussy was his adaptation of Gymnopedie #3 to orchestra. Once again my appologies for giving wrong information here.

    Ciao Heliana

  • Hi there,

First of all, yeah great ejecution however one tiny well actually big issue and that is that Trois Gymnopedie its NOT by the indiviudal you named there but by a French composer CLAUDE DEBUSSY. Debussy composed impressionist music, which was a musical stream within Modernism. Impressionism was a reaction to 19th century Romanticism.

    Greetings Heliana

  • Hey there, you might wanna make your pink finger from your right hand more relaxed or in some years from now you could get hurt. that happened to a very close friend of mine that played many years like that, had a awful tendinitis.

Try resting the pink finger on your A finger.

great playing btw, keep up the good work!

    cheers

  • beautiful, just beautiful.

  • Gotta love the jelousy.

  • Personally i tink its better than the piano one !

  • You're great man. Nice flows and feelings.5/5

  • not bad. good sound. try playing a little more relaxed. it must swing..

  • Why should it swing? It's not jazz. There are a couple of timing issues, but overall I think the playing is great and it sounds lovely on a guitar.

  • Fantastic Playing
