This was the highlight of the movie for me: to see the Mach 5 thundering down the track. Then it was all ruined when it gets severely damaged.

Does anybody know if it got rebuilt later on in the series?

Who wanted to switch the middle point to that ugly thing they put in instead?

At least the movie's Mach 6 was arguably an improvement over the Mach 5
