  • You can tell he is influemced by 60's british bands. I hear the Moody Blues Dr. Livingston here.

  • I actually really like this

  • I Think this is a groovy tune kind of reminds me of some early moody blues,,

  • the beginning isn't too long or nothin

  • how the hell did u get this?

  • Man, that was some fucked up shit..

  • I love weird little songs like this, By a rock star, before he was a rock star.. That`s when it real and not just for Money or fame.. Not that the greed and power hungryness produces bad songs though..

  • The complete opposite of 'God of Thunder'.....know Gene swears he's never tried drugs, but can't imagine the inspiration behind this little ditty. Hope he doesn't mean Paul.

  • sounds like the british invasion beatles rip off

  • wicked lester or pre wicked lester? I cant find info...

  • When his voice pitches up in stuff like "he thinks HE can", it's like a joni mitchell spoof :-). Oh those sixties! :-)

  • reminds me of Giles, Giles, and Fripp

  • @GrandFunker "Giles, Giles, and Fripp" good one

  • thank God Peter and Ace came along! This is just weird, lol.

  • I really enjoyed it,

  • Even though this one guy or two hasnt been stalking me in awhile I didnt say remember on the check mark box. They're complete liars. Im The Bullfrog! Gene became the demon and completely disregarded and rejected being Bullfrog.

Stanley your The Parrot Paul Stanley your not the star chile.

  • @AngelBirdBlissKliss7 WTF the idiot emerges from it's hole

  • That's Gene doing his best Beatles rip off. The lyrics are def Beatles inspired but it wasn't a style that fit Gene.

It's not a good song, the drumming is terrible and thus, the reason this song never stood a chance. Gene became a good song writer later on in Kiss.

  • @rothchild17

As someone else posted, this is MUCH closer to A Quick One/ The Who Sell Out era Who than the Beatles. And not a very good effort in that regard either. Actually, the vocals are the best thing about it, and that's not saying much.

  • It's not the best... but it's been in my head for weeks!

  • This sounds almost like a Who song that never saw the light of day. You've got, "Happy Jack", "Boris The Spider", and then you've got "Stanley The Parrot"!

  • wow this is bad, but in a likable kind of way. belongs in the psychadelic (and cheesy) 60s and 70s when it was probably written. It's not his worst song. His worst by far was "Fourever" in his 1978 solo album. That was so bad that me and my brother laughed hysterically listening to it

  • If this is the "Stanley the Parrot" that Gene Simmons wrote saying it will never see the light of day, I wonder what his other demo My Uncle Is A Raft sounds like.

  • lol xD

  • Comon guys...this was made in 1970

Gene was clearly searching for a sound in that period.

And we all know where that lead to.

Its not brilliant....but hey:Its funny for every KISS fan to hear

  • read up your kisstory gene wrote the music for strutter and paul wrote the lyrics.

  • Sounds like early Who stuff.

Paul wrote the chorus nd the lyrics. The rythm section became the chords for the verses of Strutter. Very cool stuff.I loved it when I first heard it.

  • I like it... it sounds like The Moody Blues.

  • This isn' t horrible, but it's not that good either

  • This song is bout paul stanley real name stanley eisen!! beat that sucka!!!

  • You can defiantly see the European rock influence in this song.

  • wtf worst thing i've ever heard from someone related to kiss XD

  • The start of Strutter! hahah I love this!! This came to be my favroite KISS song! From Stanley the Parrot to Strutter! :P

  • gene had, and still does have a good voice. so does paul. even though hes not in this. haha

  • How awfull is that ???

  • This has a Sid & Marty Krofft-feel to it. Did The Bugaloos ever record it?

  • terrible drumming

  • totally agree!

  • @Andersman5 According to the Behind the mask bookk the drummer was a guy called Joe Davidson.- yes it is pretty shocking drumming! lol

  • You do realize this awful song was written by gene as a kid and later becomes strutter. Show at least a LITTLE respect.

  • He's written some awful songs, though I do like a lot of his music. This is definitely the worst. Whoever played drums is absolutely terrible.

  • Hum, I like this song. Its not the best, but its not the worst. Think his 80's lyrics.

  • Yeah, but does ANYBODY hear what this has to do with strutter? I don't think anything is like!

  • Listen to the bass and guitar in the first 15 seconds, and it sounds a lot like the verse part of the song. When I heard it, the first words that popped in my head were "she wears her satin, like a lady..."

  • @Adattude - Paul wrote Strutter, so how was this the predecessor?

  • @evilunixuser1 bullshit, im looking at my vinyl of kiss right now and it has gene and paul as writers. paul rewrote the lyrics. from wikipedia "Stanley wrote lyrics to a song for which Simmons had originally written music, called Stanley the Parrot." and dont try to say that wikipedia isnt a reliable source because its cited as a direct quote from gene

  • @rickyjshiznit - What vinyl?!??? And Wikipedia? Wow, its amazing how limited peoples thinking is.

  • @evilunixuser1 my copy of the self titled first album that strutter was on dumbass. what the hell is wrong with wikipedia?

  • @Adattude it was turned into shout it out loud not strutter

  • @coltsfan77100 nope, strutter

  • @coltsfan77100

    It was turned into "Strutter."

  • Yes, its a great song.

  • That is an awful song ! ! ! LOL!
