I have SEVERAL questions, but I'm going to look around first before I ask anything; however, I do have one since you've mentioned this a few times in your responses and in vids. Do you find you vape more than you smoked, or is it around the same level?

@especialycious It's an unfair comparison, really...I can't say that I vape any more or less than I smoked but that's only because I can take 1 or 2 puffs any time I want rather than smoking a whole cigarette, at once. What usually ends up happening is that I'll take a few vapes then forget about it for a little bit, then take a few more vapes or so, then set it down for a while. It's very difficult to quantify.

@terraphon I see what you're saying. This is going to be perfect for me then, because that's exactly what I do now. I despise smoking, but I want the nicotine. I tend to do the unthinkable... re-light. I light up, smoke a few until that feeling goes away, then put it out and save if for later.. :/ Vaping is right up my alley. Thanks for the review. I'm new to this and trying to do my research before I purchase my next e-cig. I'm trying to find one that gets great vapor but where the battery lasts a good while. I'm getting that if you want great vape it uses more battery. Either that or you have to get a larger battery in order to not have to charge it more often.

@buythefrog You're basically correct. More vapor requires more power. Getting more power from most devices (since most run at the same voltage) requires lower resistance atomizers. @terraphon thank you for your response. I was also wondering if you knew if there is any real difference between the joye510 and the DSE510. There's also a V510 from vapormaxx. I suspect that they are all very similar? I went to Vapormaxx website and they say they guarantee their atomizers for life as long as they arent modified. Any thoughts on all this?

@buythefrog The joye510, dse510 and v510 are the same thing. Same EXACT thing. the ego, lea, ego-t and most mods are 510 based devices. Don't let the gimmicks fool you. As for guaranteeing atomizers for life? I'd like to know their definition of "life" because they damned sure won't last your whole life. Sounds like a bit of a gimmick there, too.

Dude! I got my 510 about 3 weeks ago and I tested my battery ( i got 79, 3-5 sec. hits) on a battery(manual) it only lasted 36 min. I got a pcc, now i cant kill it!

i just got my 510 a few weeks ago and i am having problems with the leaking between the batt and the atty and around the cart. i also get juice in my mouth sometimes when i suck on it. i am new to vaping. do you think i could be doing something wrong? i fill the cart up just before it pools on top (obviously i drip). i am also using something called "marineland rite size u" aquarium filters for the filler (based on another youtubers suggestion). do you think these could be negative factors?

Got my 510, its awesome. If you are going to invest in your 1st e-cig, or even want to "upgrade" from your current one Id go with the Joye 510. Its not expensive if you shop around, and its such a huge upgrade in health and quality of life overall compared to smoking.

I just ordered the 510 from e-smokeytreats because of this review. I have the vapor4life's model right now and the cartomizers get on my nerves. Its either, you get a good batch, or you dont with cartomizers. I think Ill like the direct drip method on an atomizer alot better.. hopefully. I use the joye 510 and it is great. I just wanted to let everyone know that you can solve the battery life problem, at least while at home. You can buy a passthru there about 15-20$ they plug into your computer via a usb and they have a battery that draws off your computers power. You never have to charge it. There isnt an led light on it but you really dont need one. It really makes using it absolutely perfect.

Thanks to responses on my previous post. I took the plunge just after xmas & got a 510 when I saw one on offer for £25 c/w PCC. Tasted a bit 'dusty' at 1st but that could be down to my choice of juice - and I'm adjusting to the taste already.

Still smoking maybe 5 roll-ups a day [down from 40-50] but I reckon I'll now be able to quit tobacco completely when my baccy runs out.

Couple of questions for experienced vapers?

This is the 2nd review video I've seen, and in both cases the reviewer coughed after inhaling - is that down to the liquid used or are these things for hardcore smokers only?

Secondly, has anybody who was experiencing ill effects from regular smoking [unfit/breathing difficulties/loss of taste & smell senses] noticed any significant improvement?

re: coughing. from what I can gather from my vaping is 2 things. 1- you're still inhaling something a bit thicker than air and 2- the throat hit can, in my case anyway, cause you to need to cough.

re: improvement. absolutely. while you're inhaling vapor..that's all you're inhaling. no smoke, no other chemicals, just vapor. I can breathe perfectly now, everything tastes fine, etc. if you want to smoke, maybe aren't ready to quit smoking, quit tobacco and get an e-cig kit. Period.

@pjvenner i cough sometimes after hitting my 510, its like 1 out of 20 times i hit it, ill get a dry throat, especially if ive been vaping all day. it shouldnt really be a problem for anyone, i just dont take a drink in between hits, vaping has been known to make your mouth and/or throat dry, as for breathing and smell, the main reason i picked up my 510 was so i wouldnt smell like newports everywhere i went, and i can smell a lot better now that ive quit smoking and switched to my pv.

I've been using a 510 for the past week and it's an absolute beast. Battery life is atrocious though and you can tell when it's going to die. My only real complaint other than the battery is that it's almost too powerful.

I was thinking about swapping out the 510 atomizer with the306. Is this going to affect battery life in any way?

Get the 510, and get a PCC (Personal Charging Case) You can swap batteries all day! Just be using one battery while the other is charging, and when it dies, swap it with the freshly charged on in the PCC =]

personally, I have a 402 and many extra atomizers because i was afraid of vapor production. But i have a 510 now as well and its my favorite. But i must say i had a battery only hold about 10-15 puffs now, but the other is going strong. And id suggest litecigusa, hes cheaper, and very awesome customer service

I can deal with pushing a button for a hit (doesn't blow my skirts up), but can't see myself chomping on a round tube of plastic (well, I can, actually, I'd destroy it). She received a round mouthpiece, but perhaps because I called Mona at e-Smokey-Treats and asked about it, I got a pipetip. Not the same as a DSE901 more like a cross between round and pipe. Adequate, but thanks both of you. The DSE901 tip DOES fit, thx, better chomp; and Ineedmore, I wanted specifically to try the 510 because what Rob says works for him, works for me, so far.

I'm new to the e-cig experience. I got the Joye 510 a couple weeks ago. I am refilling the carts as instructed, with a needle and syringe, or dropping straight into an empty cart and adding clean filler into cart and dropping onto the filler till very moist but not "pooling." The cart dries up after about 6 drags off of it and I have to refill...What am I going wrong??

do you can put the whole e-cig into the pcc? the need of assemble it if you wanna smoke wold be not very cool:P the common flaw in most e-cig cases is that those fit only a battery[/ies] and atomizer with couple of cartridges, disassembled set [ only model without that flaw is janty stick afaik;-)]

No, you can't store the whole unit in the PCC. For me, though, the "ritual" of taking it out and assembling it mimics the "ritual" of getting a marlboro out of the pack and I find it quite satisfying.

if anyone gets frustrated with switching batteries, i can recommend getting a usb passthrough...mine (from totallywicked) even has a rechargeable AAA battery that gets charged when the thing is plugged into a pc...its not that elegant, but it works :)

You're probably still vaping through the factory primer...it takes a day or so to get through that and get the real flavor and vapor you're looking for. Hang in there, it'll happen.

I had the same experience. After the third or forth day it started bellowing out the plumes of vapor. Awesome unit. I ordered another starter kit so I have another charger and four batteries. because I was always swapping bats. It is nice to leave the cart attached to the atomizer so when not using it can soak up or wick the liquid out of the cart. I just swap out atoms and keep on vaping. You have to give them a rest and not just hitting and hitting or you will burn the wool. Yuk...

I have, yes...It seems that the hotter burning units (801, 510, etc...) burn off some of the flavor. Hasn't been a huge issue for me, though.

Yes, you can definitely drip (I do quite often). Just know that the 510 goes through juice quickly (quicker than an 801) so you have to keep the atomizer moist or it'll burn out.

People complain a lot about the low battery life but both of my 510 battery's last me for hours 4-8 hours, i take 5-20 hits per hour so maybe some use it more?

besides that,- the 510 really is a great PV and now i just need to find a good pen style that works well and does not cost to much, any suggestions?
