Nah i think you've been blinded by titles dear. Garth Merenghi is more pure surrealist parody of horror specifically, whereas this is just slight surrealism and clearly doesn't singularly focus on any genre. Most things about Garth's character stem from him being an author. Theres not enough background for this character to even draw parellels. Just like saying Michael Scott and David Brent are the same character. Simple comment to make, yet ignorant.

And whilst i love Garth, Ed's better.
