  • better than most of the fat kids with wooden swords on here talkin shit. good work, i like how you didnt have to look at your blade when you were returning it to the saya after the kata that takes more practice than people think.

  • its not a sword its a katana

  • @mrpipeman23 In Japanese , KATANA means sword

  • @mjjlcy

Sword = Catagory. Katanas are samurai swords.

Katanas have a curved blade and a very intricate and unique creation process.

Swords can be anything, from thick, straight viking swords to volcanic residue weapons from Mexico.

  • @5PYZ3R

"Katanas have a curved blade and a very intricate and unique creation process."

See Anglo Saxon or Celtic pattern welding techniques/swords before you state that Japanese sword crafting is unique. The Anglo Saxons and Celts pretty much perfected the art many years before the Japanese blacksmiths learned of this form of crafting by 600 years and stuck with the techinque even though there was better steel available through trade with Europe.

  • @pureshadows : i'm sorry but i never heard about celtic or anglo-saxon blades wich has the same efficience.

The Japanese smiths' techniques are really unique. I'm not saying better or best, this is a nonsense debate, but a katana is made from a steel wich had been floded up more than 23 times (tarditionnaly, but it can grow to more than 32000 layer) and the blade is partially tempered. This made a blade supple and strong.

  • @Sanshinkunonamida The Anlgo Saxons use a more advance version of the Japanese way of making Katas, this being a twisting and folding method rather than just folding. This makes the blade more durable and stronger. The Japanese method only uses folding, the only difference of the two methods is the first method gives you a more stronger blade which can survive hacks while the Japanese method gives you a sharper edge good for slicing. Though the Katana is not meant for battle purposes anyway.

  • @Sanshinkunonamida @pureshadows is right, allow me to give you some links showing that ancient european swords weren't made on a easier way than the Nihontos. Of course, once the new high-tech steels were created in the 9th century Europe, the whole process wasn't necessary any more

  • critics abound but I liked it.......

  • Oh dear...

  • You need to work on your control.

The Katana should stop and not wobble.
