A highly talented dancer . Kamala Laxman entered films at a very young age . She danced her way from Tamil movies into Hindi films . Her style was near perfect , something rare in films and footwork and speed incomparable . But her histrionics were limited . That's why her presence got limited to dance numbers . Her three numbers in the film Konjum Salangai ,left an undeliable effect on the audience . It was pure dance and the adavus in every number were unique and unrepetitive .
@jonakar this is traditional Classical Dance from South India, if you heven't found out already. The dancers in this scene were trained for years and were dedicated to tradition and the form of it. Today's Indian Cinema does not use these scenes any more - there is no scope to modern story lines.:)
