Hey, is this lehner motor good for bashing or is it a track star? Also what was the top speed you could get out of it? Last question did the motor excellerate quickly off the line?
@EcHOx94 Rustler is shorter, so these bodies won't fit. You'd need to use a large 1/10th scale buggy body like an HSP/Himoto/Redcat shell and a smaller wing & wing mount would be more appropriate too, just to keep anything from looking too large. Speaking of large, though, these wheels/tires may look a bit large on the shorter, wider Rustler as well! Hah! All a matter of scale.
hey, which springs did you use? i know that they are from losi, but they make a lot of springs. I think its the 2.5". Maybe u can give a serialnumber or something like that. thnx!
would you recommend for the "4x4 backslash" to stick with a stock motor or no? because i am debating whether i should sell my velineon 3x for the mamba max,
awesome i did this with my slash like 2 weeks ago and it was more like a slash 4x4 with no bumpers or body mounts with only a b4 wing on it lol. it liked how it jumped more but i still want it to be short course because im gonna get an rc8be
Hi Jang, I know you recommend the Pro-Line Crowd Pleaser 2 for the 777. My LHS has a cheap (half -price) Pro-Line Crowd Pleaser 2 for the MBX5. Do you know if the MBX5 body would be suitable?
@smileypjau I haven't tried the Pro-Line body for the Mugen, but the *stock* MBX5 body definitely fits -- that was actually the first body I tested successfully.
@UltimateRCnetwork i love your conversion to backslash and i have some questions... how do you make the body mounts fit a body from the stock slash mounts? and where can you get/make the body mount posts for it? also can i just use a buggy body, a wing and stock tires? would that work? but my most important question is about the body post mounts... PLEASE REPLY thanks
@airsoftawesomeness Just responded on my channel about the body mounting. Simple answer is that it's covered with words & photos on the project page. Not all bodies will fit though. The ones been able to make work are this one, the stock MBX5 one, and now the stock RC8 body. Stock tires would be okay, but they just have so little traction, it's hard to drive well with them.
@UltimateRCnetwork hey jang i have a question... can i use the hpi hellfire wing mount set that comes with the hpi wing and hpi hellfire wing mount? will that fit my slash 2WD? please reply, thanks jang
@airsoftawesomeness I haven't seen what mount comes with an HPI wing. You'd be best off asking on the URC forum where there are more folks who have tried more different options than I have.
@UltimateRCnetwork Jang, im getting frustrated because im struggling with getting the wing mount on and cutting the body is the hardest.... please help me PLEASE i cant figure out where to cut on the body.... please try to help me
Not a Backslash style conversion, no. Honestly not 100% positive what I'll do with the 4x4 yet (haven't received mine yet), but I'm sure I'll think of something ;)
This was the one that started it all! The original 1:8th buggy-style conversion for the Traxxas Slash! Many thanks & props to all of the folks across the country who have done their own \Backslash conversions!

JANG, since the rustler vxl and the slash 2wd have the same chassis, can i do it to my rustler? will there be the same amount of work?
