My Dad took me to this very 1st Pens NHL game in Oct '67 -vs- Montreal at the Civic Arena. We'd attended Hornets games before that. His love of hockey rubbed off on me.

I took my Son & Daughter to the Pens -vs- Montreal game at the Mellon.... exactly 40 years later (10-11-07).

I hope they'll be taking their kids to Pens games at a new arena in 40 years time (will always miss the Igloo though).

When you were at that first game, did you see the live penguin on the ice before the faceoff? I read somewhere that Beliveau and Bathgate were at centre ice and they made some comment to each other about the penguin.

@abc1000001 To be perfectly honest with you I don't recall if I saw the penguin at that first game or not. I'm sure if they had the penguin at the time, I must have seen it, but I saw many of those early games with my Dad back then that I can't recall exactly when. I do remember the penguin was hard to get to cooperate in the beginning.
