I reckon it's all tall tales. None of the accounts are from the moment. Philo was the top political and religious reporter of the region during the time Jesus was alive, and he doesn't mention him once. Not once. Also, Mithra being born of rocks is no more nonsensical than a virgin birth. Neither happened. It's all a tale.
So what if he did exist..(I'm pretty sure he didn't) But even if he did he'd be a member of the same species of mammal as us, i.e homo sapiens, and he'd follow the same laws of physics as everybody and everything else in the universe, thus not performing any "miracles" or "resurrections":)
anyone who wants to see archeaological evidence that would pass a court case check out the writings of tacitus and pliny the younger both highly respected romans tacitus writes about pontius pilate comdemming christ to death during the reign of tiberious and pliny write about how the christians worshipped christ as god and the penalties under roman law for being a christian anyway look them up on wikipedia they prove christ,s existence
@shredmaster100 Although I now believe in a historical Jesus, Tacitus and Pliny are really bad sources for it. Both wrote over 80 years after Jesus' alleged death, well within the timeframe for myth to spring up, and Tacitus incorrectly called Pilate a procurator (he was prefect of Judea), pointing to the likely possibility that the sources these historians used were NOT historical records of any kind, but hearsay. The focus of both authors is on the Christian sect, not Jesus.
yeah they did write a long time after but have you seen the recent evidence that was found relating to pontius pilate its a tribute to him carved in stone from his time which refers to him as a procurator look it up i think its on youtube so that proves that his title was wrongly used a lot and i think jesus must have been based on a real man because why start a sect when they were already jews they wouldnt have given up thier jewish faith for no reason
yeah my bad just looked it up but i found out why tacitus got his title wrong was because the title prefect was changed to procurator after 44ad and the stones a tribute to tiberious not pilate as i said wrongly but there are other historical sources on jesus but tacitus is the earliest writing nearly 80 years later so facts could be mistaken 80 years is a long time let alone 2000 years i think its gonna take years but i think there must be better evidence for jesus somewhere
@shredmaster100 There's better evidence in the evidence for James, I'd say. If his brother existed and was identified as his brother, it makes sense Jesus existed too. But the picture we get of James is very different than what we get for either James or Jesus in the gospels.
sorry if i get anything im about to say wrong but was his brother known as james the just and he was part of a fanatical group called the god saves group so if thats true i wonder where jesus got his ideas from and he was stoned think im just going on what ive read so if its right then it does answer a lot of questions
@shredmaster100 Yes, he was called James the Just, and he was part of a fanatical group, though I don't ever remember hearing them called the "god saves" group. I've heard them referred to as Zealots, sicarii, etc., though it's debatable exactly what group James belonged to. He was, however, an anti-Roman nationalist and extreme fundamentalist in his religious views.
looked him up and it says he died 62ad and he was younger than jesus so he must have been influenced by jesus who was first influenced by john the baptist but in the end as i said before its going to take years to get enough evidence if its not been destroyed to prove jesus existence and it doesnt help that the great fire in rome took place after he died because a lot of communications from judea to rome would have been lost i think
In view of an abundance of evidence that shows Jesus did exist, my question to you is, WHAT IF HE DID? If it doesn't matter either way, then why are you wasting your time with this? What do you care who believes what? Could it be you are simply trying to convince yourself? Well, time will tell - won't it? We'll just see how all this works out for you in the end. Cheers.
@TheSwatmachine Why do I care if people believe in false things? It always amuses me when Christians ask this. Maybe I care because I've seen how false beliefs can harm others. And if Jesus did exist, who's to say that I'd have to accept the same view of him that you do? I actually do now think a person named Jesus probably was real, but we still know next to nothing about him. The gospels have been shown to be unreliable sources.
@TaylorX04 First of all, I am not a Christian and never said I was. It appears you are quick to make assumptions - typical but foolish mistake. You said "maybe" you care because you have seen how false beliefs harm others. Therefore, it stands to reason that maybe you don't care. So...which is it? In addition, no one said you have to accept anything. More foolish assumptions. Your comments are typical of someone who is putting up a smoke screen to hide behind. Are YOU trying to hide something?
@TheSwatmachine Your comments are typical of a Christian pretending to hold a more objective standpoint. I made the assumption based on your ridiculous remark about how we'll see how things work out for me in the end. Christians are typically the ones to say such a thing, not non-Christians who don't accept their judgment day fairytale. I said "maybe" because there are many reasons I care, of which I've just given one. You are quick to make assumptions of your own.
(cont'd) And let me ask you: why are you so concerned with the idea that I might be hiding something? What is it you think I'm hiding anyway? That I secretly don't care? You seem to be making far more presumptions than you're warranted in, by insinuating that I have ulterior motives. There is no smoke screen here, but it sure seems that you're trying to project one onto me.
@TaylorX04 Again, I am NOT a Christian. I have made no assumptions, just asking questions. I believe in no fairy tale. It appears your philosophy of life makes you quick to make decisions about what others believe. You have no idea what I believe. One thing I do know is that you don't have enough common decency to take a man at his word. I tell you I am not a Christian, but you still somehow believe you have the privilege to refute that and say that I am. And YOU an EDUCATOR? How very funny!
@TheSwatmachine In my last comment, I said nothing about believing you're a Christian, I only explained why I made that assumption. If you say you're not a Christian, I'll take you at your word, unless you make it pretty clear that you're being dishonest. But why haven't you answered my questions about your concern with me "hiding" something? You wouldn't be trying to turn the attention away from your own blatant projections, would you?
@TaylorX04 Well, I must have missed that question. In reviewing your comments I still don't see what question you are making reference to. What is your question? BTW, why do you believe it is ridiculous to comment that there may be many surprises for us all when life's journey comes to an end on earth? Do you know with ABSOLUTE CERTAINTY what each of us will experience upon death? And in addition, you never answered my question which is, Why do you care what others believe?
if Jesus did not existed He could not make us resurrect and go to heaven. Even his teachings of being good are good, in the end we would have to find another way of saving ourselves from death. The signs should prove that He and the angels exist, thought. The history too, the bible... Everything helps, i guess. But we should prove, yes. Sorry, guys.
"THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES IS NOT IN ANY SENSE FOUNDED ON THE CHRISTIAN RELIGION." (Treaty of Tripoli, Article 11: Written during the Administration of George Washington and signed into law by John Adams.)
In the 1st Cent. CE, christian apologist Justin Martyr knew his god-man was not unique. His explanation is laughable.
"When we say that Jesus Christ was produced without sexual union, was crucified and died, and rose again, and ascended to heaven, we propound nothing new or different from what you believe regarding those whom you call the sons of Jupiter."
"For when they say that Dionysus arose again and ascended to heaven, is it not evidence the devil has imitated the prophecy?"
JUST see this one, since you like science, here is SCIENTIFIC PROOOF of what happened, being an inside job "911 Loose Change (full-length)" ... if you choose not to, you're and IGNORANT, im showing you proof, scientific proof.... try it. if not. we are done. don't be afraid to see and know the Truth.
@Samson4G I have seen it all. And yes, it does bring up some good points. However, they have all been dismissed. None of the experts were scientist who should have been talking on the subject. It wasn't their field. And what the fuck does "religious truth" have to do with what happened on 9/11?
Socrates very much believed that if you didn't follow the truth (of which he himself claimed to the wisest about) that you would suffer eternal torment in the afterlife. Read Plato's work titled "Gorgias."
Wow, there is so much ignornance and confusion in this video, along with completetly incorrect Philosophy that i don't even know where to start..... One question to anybody; Did Christopher colombus really exist? how do we know? did the Mayans or Egyptians really exist? how do we know?
@Samson4G That's funny that there's incorrect Philosophy in it, because there's not really any Philosophy at all. I discuss a philosopher or two, but it's well known that some people think Socrates didn't exist, for example. So what's this incorrect Philosophy? Also, comparing Socrates and Confucius to Christopher Columbus, the Mayans, and the Egyptians - whom we all have reliable evidence for - is nonsense. Your misspelling of ignorance is very appropriate.
@TaylorX04 There is also evidence for Christ Himself...Shroud of Turing, the Miracles of the Holy Eucharist, the even that occured on October 13th 1917 in Fatima, DNA examination of the Shroud of turin, ... and on and on...study only one of these; the even on October 13 of 1917 in Fatima ....then get back to me... : )
@Samson4G The Shroud of Turin is a joke. Even if DNA could prove the shroud contained the body of a first century man in Judea, that wouldn't mean the man was Jesus. It's not like we have Jesus' DNA on file and can look it up to compare. Even the gospels claim that he was crucified alongside two other men, so by sheer chances, there's still a lot of possibilities for the shroud being someone other than Jesus. Fatima was a case of mass delusion. Nothing that special.
@TaylorX04 thats interesting if you compare the DNA found in countless miraculous bleeding Hosts (the Holy Eucharist) and its the SAME blood type they found of the shroud (AB Possitive) AND they have discovered that this blood only has 23 chromosomes, only from a mother's ..... in conclusion, if Jesus Christ was born only of the Virgin Mary, and of NO man, but the Holy Spirit.. than that would explain why only 23 female chromosomes are found on this blood....i have more ref if you'd like em'
@Samson4G I won't get into the finer details but when sent to SUNY the "blood" was essentially useless as the DNA was horribly fragmented and no blood type could be found, it is still debatable whether or not it was even blood. As far as the "miracles" I wonder why there are pictures of the people but not the event itself. Beyond that a bunch of religious children in the sun sparking the imagination of a bunch of other poorly educated and religious individuals looking at the sun isn't evidence.
@Samson4G you've obviously not seen the entire investigation in regards to Oct. 13th..... the MEDIA was there, ATHEISTS were there. Its all over the newspaper that was present there, the reporters that WITNESSED the miracle occur. you just chose not to see the truth...... this conversation is over. See u in eternity.
@Samson4G We don't question Columbus or the Mayans or the Egyptians because we have more than just ONE book as evidence they existed. We have volumes upon volumes of books, and even physical evidence of their existence. However, with Jesus, we have only hand written texts and no physical evidence. The only physical evidence is a shroud that may or may not be his for physical evidence.
@HimesInu wow, what about all of the First Fathers of the Church? there is COUNTLESS written books on Jesus Christ, Irenaus, Ignatious, Clement of Alexandria, Hilary of Arles....the list goes ON and ON and ON.....the Bible is the Word of God in the Language of man kind....there will never be a most sold book of all time like the Holy bible, it never goes out of age, because its for every age, it never needs an "update" or "fix" like all other literature....
@Samson4G That proves what? That people will do anything to hold onto something we have no physical evidence for. Outside of that, your reply has zilch to do with what I said.
@HimesInu 50,000 people tha witnissed the exact same phenomena among them atheists, believers and non believers, and you still dare say "we have no physical evidence"? then we should completly eradicate all witnesses to any murder scene ect....
@Samson4G Alright. But when it comes down to it, a murder will always have evidence more than just witness testimony. I say we have no evidence because when we take away all of the "witness" testimonies, we're down to a few ruins and a shroud that could have the face of any first century man.
@HimesInu There are plenty of Crusafixes that were used in the Roman times/times of Christ, and the Vatican HAS Jesus Christ's Cross, Crown of Thorns, Nails that were used on him, AND the robe that clothed him after they brought him down from the cross, ALONG with soldiers who excecuted this event, St. Longinus, the one who thrusted the Spear(that the Vatican also has) on His side, is a first hand witness. and the shroud, i have links to videos that prove its authenticity. know the Truth...
@Samson4G No, the Vatican has a cross that they claim to be that which Jesus was crucified on. They have a crown of thorns that may have been worn by Jesus. We have first century nails that were used on somebody. They have a robe that was worn by a first century man who was crucified. We have a document that says they crucified someone. The spear, by all official records, is lost. The shroud was used to cover a first century man who could have been anyone.
@HimesInu shows how much you know, the spear was brocken and was welded back together using one of the nails, these relics are in Rome. then answere back when you see this video in regards to the shround. Starts at 2:00 "Creation and Miracles (New Edition) Part 7"
@Samson4G You want to know what all your claims are based on? Faith that an institution, who has everything to gain if these are real, and everything to lose if they are fake, wouldn't lie to the masses. Guess what? Institutions like the church have lied for centuries to gain power. If lying will make them more powerful, they will, right or wrong.
@HimesInu you wished to see physical evidence, I proposed the videos to you, im sure you use videos as reference to your "way of learning" too. The CHURCH has NEVER lied, its the individuals that are responsible for being iresponsible of knowing the Truth. Christ too had a betrayer within his own, and he KNEW that individual was a sinner, liked us, but He still gave him an oportunity, as he still does to the rest of US, you included. prepare yourself. for you will see God's wonders and Glory.
@Samson4G Oh, please stop there. "The Church has never lied"? Alright, I'll give you the church, since churches are just building. But the people that make up the hierarchy have. Maybe not in the beginning, but as soon as Christians came into power, they have been spreading lies about other religions. About other peoples. Why not lie about certain objects so they gain further power? And the only wonders I see are the wonders the universe and man have created.
@HimesInu BTW, why are you so scared to watch the videos?do you fear to see the Truth? because in effect, it would mean that you would have to change your lifestyle? i tell you the truth that if you do open the possibility that I am telling you the Truth, you will live a more joyuss and fullfilled life. God bless.
@Samson4G I was Catholic for fourteen years of my life. Wanna know why I'm not Christian? Because i opened up more than just a Bible. I opened books on science and my mind to the hard facts. You wanna know what I found? I found the people in positions of power within Christianity have committed atrocity after atrocity in the name of God. For myself, and my conscience, I couldn't follow an institution that has a history corruption like the Church.
@HimesInu Maybe you should have studied your Faith first, but obviously your inerest was not to find Truth in Faith, but FALSE accusations against the Church is what you found to be more delicious. just like the snake in the Garden of Eden, offered the delicious fruit of "Knowing" to eve and adam, and they fell for the desception. So you won't follow a Church with corruption, but you're ok with a corrupted nation, that kills their own people to justify a war that has nothing to do with us?
@Samson4G I did. And I also saw in the Bible itself things that I wasn't alright with. Rape victims having to marry the rapist. Soldiers taking girls for their own. Stoning kids for misbehaving. Killing a person for being accused of being a witch. As for the fruit, God was scared Adam and Eve would learn that they didn't need "Him" to live. And if you are saying that 9/11 was an inside job, you're insane. All the so called evidence for that is a pile of shit.
@HimesInu WOW, your IGNORANCE is incredible...9/11 was an inside job...look up "In Plane Sight - Sept 11 - 911 Conspiracy 1 of 6" good luck....the Truth. you don't understand what context those events were in the bible...you have 21st century mind in regards to OLD testament livehood. the way society was.
@Samson4G Oh for crying out loud. I have seen all of the conspiracy theories. And they are all junk. First of all, thousands of people would have had to be told. The front desk of WTC, the maintenance, the pilots, ATC, the police department, fire department. And you would not have been able to keep everyone quiet about such a thing. Also, I work with both air craft and missiles everyday. I know the damage that missiles do. I also know the damage an airplane with full tanks can do. (TBC)
@HimesInu YOU DID NOT ANSWER THE QUESTION.....ON the pentegon's "attack"....where is the flippin airplane/????????? did it desintigrate into fine pieces and vanished into the air? I DON"T THINK SO....
@Samson4G Vanish into air? No. It is somewhere within the wreckage of the Pentagon that the government has. And I did answer your question, I just couldn't fit it into one response. We have the security image of the plane right before it crashed into the Pentagon. Second, no missile makes a hole longer than it is wide, and that's what we see in the Pentagon.
@Samson4G (Cont) But the Bible still condones that shit. I'm sorry, I don't care if it was written two thousand plus years, it still condones that shit and I'm not having it. It also condones slavery and oppression in general. I'm sorry, but I fight for the freedom of everyone.
@HimesInu IT WAS NOT an airplaine that Hit the pentegon was it? it was a missle then, YOU Should know...our beloved country's "government" states it was an airplaine, ....well my question is ... WHERE WAS THE AIRPLAIN that crashed in the pentegon?
@Samson4G First, we have the security camera clip that shows the plane. Second, no missile makes that type of hole. There would have been more damage to the surrounding building. Instead, it is localized and elongated. Missile holes are usually as deep as they are wide.
@Samson4G I could be wrong in my choice of religion, but so could you. Why are you so afraid of the Christian God not being real? Is that really such a scary thought? Could you not have morals or self-control without the threat of eternal damnation or the promise of eternity in Heaven?
@HimesInu u don't understand, if religion was a falicy, and did not help mankind, humans would act like animals with each other (which is what is happening now) the Church was made to help man have a greatly filled abundant joyfull life. What you believe will determine how you will behave, so if you don't believe in God, u have no true sence of liability.
@Samson4G Actually, if religion didn't exist, we wouldn't have had the Crusades. We wouldn't have had the Dark Ages, we wouldn't have had the Burning Times. Hitler may never have committed his atrocities during WW2. We wouldn't have been in the war we've been in the last decade. People act like animals because they disagree with each other. The majority of the disagreement is over religion. Oh yeah, um, you follow a religion that states someone died for your sins. Where's your liability?
@HimesInu the crusades? you have no real knowledge what the crusades was about, since you've already chosen to beilieve a book that has tainted and manipulated evidence. where's MY liability? YES I AM A SINNER, but i continue everyday to change my ways, to reach what is promised to me. and YOU?you don't, you have no hope because you have rejected the Truth, and the Truch is Christ "I AM THE TRUTH",and you are a catholic that choses not to listne, there for repent before you die, eternity is real
@Samson4G The Crusades was a time period of 100 years where the Church invaded the Middle East, attempted to, specifically Jerusalem. In the name of "God," the Christians killed thousands of Muslims. And for what? A piece of land that was in a book. And your liability comes after you die, assuming there is something after death. Mine comes in the here and now three fold. And I am not a Catholic. I was brought up as one.(TBC)
@Samson4G (Cont) The only reason why Christianity is still around is because it won the religious war in Europe. Not because it's the "Truth," but because history is written by the victor. If the Romans had been able to crush it, we might have another religion instead. And threatening a person with eternity who doesn't believe is like threatening a person that Santa won't bring him or her presents. That person, me, will laugh in your face.
@HimesInu ... remember that Satan is a Liar and a murderer from the beginning....the authors you read that had something bad to say about the Church may have been influenced by Satan himself to write that about the Church, in the same way he called God a Liar, in the garden when he spoke to Eve.
@Samson4G No, what I read was in the Bible itself. Why was Satan thrown out of Heaven? Because God is and was a tyrant and he cannot stand to have anyone be his equal. He's petty.
The more incredible the claim, the more evidence required to believe it is probably true.
Jesus' existence requires less evidence for me because there's precedent of men leading cults in other time periods.
Jesus' miracles, like his ability to pull matter out of nothing, making bread/fish violates some laws of physics and requires far more evidence, such as writings by the Romans verifying claims with unbiased accounts from centurions.
@shamiotzi253 According to Paul, you're a fool too if you follow Christ (1 Corinthians 4:9). And I'd happen to agree with him, because if you think it's more foolish to disbelieve in your "loving" god who slaughtered entire tribes, destroyed nearly all of humanity in a flood, bombed cities like Sodom and Gomorrah with fire, and threatens to damn probably well over half the population to an eternity of torment for not believing in him, then you are indeed a fool.
Jesus was historically proven, we were even taught at our school of the punishment he received by the romans. The question true atheists should consider is "was Jesus really the son of God?"
@BeakyRed Actually, I do now believe there was likely a historical Jesus, but one that is very unlike the gospel portraits. The question that you ought to be asking first is why you believe ancient documents that suggest Jesus was the son of God. What makes them especially reliable, compared to the Quran's claims about Muhammad or the Book of Mormon's claims about Joseph Smith, for example?
@antiyahweh very true I have never seen a contemporary writing about Jesus (you would think those miracles would be big news) and there is no contemporary Roman or Jewish Temple text that describes the man (although it does describe many non-magical "prophets"). Christianity is likely the result of one Jewish prophets ramblings being taken seriously and spreading like wildfire due to its "upbeat" message and the empire's well developed infrastructure.
Here is an interesting fact. Now days church says that the bible shouldn't be interpreted directly. So if the great flood was supposed to be a metaphore, why the story of Jesus is suppose to be a truth?
@WorthDieing4 Yeah, that's about as reasonable as saying that if Santa Claus didn't exist, there wouldn't be any Christmas presents. Try thinking outside your narrow little religious brain box sometime.

@TaylorX04 Lets see how bold you are right before you take your last breath and have to face your creator. The one you mock now will mock you right before He cast you into an eternal lake of fire. But there is hope if you repent and trust Jesus.
@WorthDieing4 You think I'm bold? You're the one pretending not only to know that there is a god, but to have a personal relationship with it too! If your god will be sending me to hell, while letting in serial killers who happen to have repented, then your god deserves all the mockery in the world, because it is an immoral narcissist. It doesn't take a bold person to realize that Santa's workshop is imaginary though, nor does it take one to realize the afterlife is just as devoid of evidence.

@TaylorX04 To repent is to admit what you were doing was wrong and stop doing it. Would God be wrong for forgiving someone that is willing to do that. If so then we all have NO hope, because who hasnt done wrong. You problably think your not a murder, but Jesus said if you hate, you are a murder at heart. You are in big trouble with your maker. But there is hope if you would humble yourself.
@WorthDieing4 Yes, Jesus established thoughtcrime, which has been very convenient for controlling the masses throughout history. You can keep making assertions all you like, but without any evidence on your side, they're nothing but empty assertions, which is all that faith is.
@WorthDieing4 Well, if there is hope because you just have to repent and find to Jesus than the answer is pretty easy: Let´s have a life of fun, do whatever you want to do and when it gets close to the end: Find Jesus and repent! Because you never know, right?
@Visualiser33 That was probably what millions and millions of people thought and then died suddenly. Haiti, the sunami, hurricanes, car crashes, 150,000 people die a day. Your taking an eternal gamble on a temporal feeling. We are fragile humans, we came from dust, and our bodys will go back to it. At the resurection you will be given a body that will never die, you will live in the presence of a Holy God, or in eternal punishment Hell, Gods jail cell for rebelious angles and humans.
@WorthDieing4 Let's suppose I don`t die in a car accident, I get old, but I feel the end is near (not everybody dies in car accidents or natural disasters), and I decide - after my life full of fun and sins - I repent and turn to Jesus.
@Visualiser33 Yes if you are sorry for your sin and repent and turn to Jesus, if you get that oppertunity, Yes you have Gods promise, you will be forgiven. " Today is the day of Salvation"
@WorthDieing4 Sorry, your comment was marked as spam. So I can murder, rape, maybe abuse some children a little bit, and one day, no matter when, I just have to say ( and meaning it) :"Sorry, I repent my sins, here I am, you are my saviour." And Jesus (God) will forgive me. So a lot of people suffered because of me, but Jesus (God) just says: You repent, welcome to my Kingdom." Can you tell me where you see any moral in this act of forgiveness?
@Visualiser33 Why does a judge punish? To detour the criminal and others from doing crime. If God knows you have stoped doing the crime and are not giong to do it agian in the future it is just for Him to pardon. As long as the "penalty is paid" that what Jesus did. I just went to a retirement home to preach the gospel, I thought these people would repent if they had not know the Lord. To my shock and suprise they were very uninthusiastiac about the message. Today is the Day of Salvation!
@WorthDieing4 It is pretty unpolite to answer a question with a question. Let me repeat my question again. Can you tell me where you see any moral in this act of forgiveness? Jesus died for our sins, so that everybody can kill, rape, abuse and so on, and when he repents: Welcome to heaven. You really believe it is a moral act to take away the responsability for someones actions?
@WorthDieing4 - Great, the mob boss deity ... That's a wonderful moral belief you have for yourself . .. Can you make a decision to believe something ? I can't ... So, if you can't see the illogical flaw in Pascal's Wager, you're beyond any true redemption.
@WorthDieing4 You said, ",,,,,Jesus said if you hate, you are a murderer at heart." But, Jesus also COMMANDED his followers to hate! Luke 14:26. Therefore, Jesus is a murderer at heart and so are all his followers! Each and every time a Christian speaks, his words are contradicted and condemned by the very book they claim is irrefutable. They follow this with some apologist's quote, or reinterpret its original meaning to create a circular argument that "justifies" its illogical conclusion.
@politicoochie09 ....He was speaking in hyperbole, the point he made is that you must love Him above all else. This lines up perfectly with the old testament, 1st Comandment: You shall have no other gods before me. If you love anything more than God you make a god out of what it is that you love more and that is Idolitry. No contradicion just another excuse for you to justify your sin and blaspheme God. I hope you repent.
@WorthDieing4 You prove my point about how Christians reinterpret what was said to avoid an obvious mistake in the Bible. There is NO reason for Jesus to speak in hyperbole, especially if he KNOWS that people will take what he says literally. That's just cruel. But then, that's the nature of the beast (Jesus). If Jesus and Yahweh are the same, it makes sense because the god of the Old Testament is a cruel, human-hating, narcissistic psychopath. I hope you repent from your delusion.
@politicoochie09 The context of what He was saying was that you must love Him above all else. Anything you put before God is called an Idol, and all Idoliters will go to hell fire. 1st Comandment you shall have no other gods before Me. So you see there is no contradiction here. I hope you repent. Unbelievers will go to hell fire for eternity.
@JonathanTheAlchemist No you wouldnt, Jesus did say to accept Him. He said to repent(turn from sin) and follow and obey Him. If you do that you will avoid the Judgment.
@JonathanTheAlchemist Your good deeds will not wash away your crime. You cannot bribe God. That is why Jesus is necessary. He shed perfect sinless blood to pay your penalty for your crime. He is the ONLY one who could fufill the 10 commandments, never breaking any of them. You need His blood to wash away your sins, otherwise you will be accountable for your crime. No pardon without Jesus as your represenative. That is why He is the only way to be right with God.
-"... He shed perfect sinless blood to pay your penalty for your crime ..."-
What exactly makes him sinless? Jesus had no problem condeming others to hell and upholding the OT's barbaric laws. Furthermore, if I truly wanted his sacrifice, I would've asked for it. Tell me, what'll happen to those who never heard of Jesus?
@JonathanTheAlchemist Romans 1 18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
How exactly has God made himself obvious? You truly believe that people who never even heard of the zombie Jew and probably didn't care deserve to burn for eternity?
Your God of infinite love and understanding sounds like a real nice guy, who would mock someone and then cast them into a pit of eternal suffering. What ever happened to turn the other cheek?
@JunkCCCP Well if you created something from dust and gave it life, and then it turned on you and disobeyed you and mocked you, you would be rightly angry also.
@WorthDieing4 I thought Christianity was about finding excuses as to why the Earth is around, to cold-bloodedly murder people who have sex to people they're not married to, gay people, or anyone you believe to be a witch, and to go to war. Wait, am I wrong? Is it about living your entire life afraid you're going to die and go to hell?
The 12 disciples jesus teached to would have ignore jesus if He was not the true messiah. Even if Jesus wasnt the true savior when He was crucified. Every follower became afraid of jews. But if jesus never raised from dead how did the 12 disciples spread the word out of love for the return of the savior
@spryrambro You're about to be in for a shock, because *gasp* I don't think there were 12 disciples. But more importantly, we don't have any written testimony from them. Even Catholic scholars, well respected ones like John Spong and Raymond Brown, have known for decades that the gospels are not the product of the so-called disciples. You really ought to look up the two-source hypothesis and other staples of biblical study. In short, you don't know that the 12 ever did spread the word.
@TaylorX04 if i am wrong why has my faith fled like flood around the world. If jesus didnt exist why would his disciples spread out and spread the news. If Jesus never existed how did one man who says He is jesus actually change the lives of millions and started the catholic church and raise from the dead to put hope into te heart of his didciples
@spryrambro Like I said: gullible. The spread of your faith doesn't have anything to do with its truth, anymore than the spread of cancer can be called good. Catholicism spread itself by the sword, this has been well documented, it's no miracle.
Actually, I now think Jesus did exist, but not the fairytale person in the bible. "Changing lives" is pure subjective speculation, as is raising the dead. Where is your evidence for these? Hearsay is not evidence.
Wow wow wow, you guys serious. Oh man. You guys are sad. We have written evidence of jesus crucifiction. We have eye witness written down, witness from the moving rock when jesus arose from the tomb. Written evdence of 3000 new catholics that day which is written by st. Peter as the new pope of the catholic church
@spryrambro You are unbelievably gullible if you take all of that as "evidence". The gospels are all anonymous, only given their names by the 3rd century at the earliest (two of them aren't even alleged eyewitnesses). None of them date any earlier than 70 AD, 40 years after Jesus supposedly died. We don't have anything remotely like a moving rock, since we still haven't even found the TOMB of Jesus. The rest of your comment is Catholic bullshit propaganda you've been fed.
@beholdtheageofold Yes Josephus was born after the alleged Jesus. However, I am not refering to the famous passage which was probably forged by Bishop Eusebius, but this one by Josephus. "These things happened to the Jews in requital for James the Rightious, who was a brother of Jesus known as Christ, for though he was the most rightious of men, the Jews put him to death." It is difficult to see this as a later Christian forgery?
@MegaGayjesus Who ever said that I don't think that Josephus works weren't forged for you to ask " Is this difficult to see this as a later Christian forgery? It doesn't matter if it was forged. Josephus lived after Jesus. Why didn't Jesus Christ write his own account prior to his death?
@MegaGayjesus Christ means anointed. Priests are anointed. And guess what? There was a priest who became high priest by the name of Jesus in the trial Josephus is referring to. An anointed Jesus. What are the odds, right?
well it is specutlated that when christianity was still underground it interacted with alot of the other pagan cults and influenced each other. ijust saying the zeigiest might have some probablility
Christianity helped hold us white Europeans artificially back for about 1400 years, then came Columbus,Da Vinci,Galileo,Newton & Darwin, & with the help of those guys, helped the white Aryan race achieved the greatness it was destined for to have over this small earth of ours.
It's all a tale.

anyone who wants to see archeaological evidence that would pass a court case check out the writings of tacitus and pliny the younger both highly respected romans tacitus writes about pontius pilate comdemming christ to death during the reign of tiberious and pliny write about how the christians worshipped christ as god and the penalties under roman law for being a christian anyway look them up on wikipedia they prove christ,s existence
shredmaster100 1 month ago
@shredmaster100 Although I now believe in a historical Jesus, Tacitus and Pliny are really bad sources for it. Both wrote over 80 years after Jesus' alleged death, well within the timeframe for myth to spring up, and Tacitus incorrectly called Pilate a procurator (he was prefect of Judea), pointing to the likely possibility that the sources these historians used were NOT historical records of any kind, but hearsay. The focus of both authors is on the Christian sect, not Jesus.
TaylorX04 1 month ago
yeah they did write a long time after but have you seen the recent evidence that was found relating to pontius pilate its a tribute to him carved in stone from his time which refers to him as a procurator look it up i think its on youtube so that proves that his title was wrongly used a lot and i think jesus must have been based on a real man because why start a sect when they were already jews they wouldnt have given up thier jewish faith for no reason
shredmaster100 1 month ago
@shredmaster100 Are you talking about the Pilate Stone? That actually calls him prefect, not procurator.
TaylorX04 1 month ago
yeah my bad just looked it up but i found out why tacitus got his title wrong was because the title prefect was changed to procurator after 44ad and the stones a tribute to tiberious not pilate as i said wrongly but there are other historical sources on jesus but tacitus is the earliest writing nearly 80 years later so facts could be mistaken 80 years is a long time let alone 2000 years i think its gonna take years but i think there must be better evidence for jesus somewhere
shredmaster100 1 month ago
@shredmaster100 There's better evidence in the evidence for James, I'd say. If his brother existed and was identified as his brother, it makes sense Jesus existed too. But the picture we get of James is very different than what we get for either James or Jesus in the gospels.
TaylorX04 1 month ago
sorry if i get anything im about to say wrong but was his brother known as james the just and he was part of a fanatical group called the god saves group so if thats true i wonder where jesus got his ideas from and he was stoned think im just going on what ive read so if its right then it does answer a lot of questions
shredmaster100 1 month ago
@shredmaster100 Yes, he was called James the Just, and he was part of a fanatical group, though I don't ever remember hearing them called the "god saves" group. I've heard them referred to as Zealots, sicarii, etc., though it's debatable exactly what group James belonged to. He was, however, an anti-Roman nationalist and extreme fundamentalist in his religious views.
TaylorX04 1 month ago
looked him up and it says he died 62ad and he was younger than jesus so he must have been influenced by jesus who was first influenced by john the baptist but in the end as i said before its going to take years to get enough evidence if its not been destroyed to prove jesus existence and it doesnt help that the great fire in rome took place after he died because a lot of communications from judea to rome would have been lost i think

Cheers.
TheSwatmachine 4 months ago
@TheSwatmachine Why do I care if people believe in false things? It always amuses me when Christians ask this. Maybe I care because I've seen how false beliefs can harm others. And if Jesus did exist, who's to say that I'd have to accept the same view of him that you do? I actually do now think a person named Jesus probably was real, but we still know next to nothing about him. The gospels have been shown to be unreliable sources.
TaylorX04 4 months ago
@TaylorX04 First of all, I am not a Christian and never said I was. It appears you are quick to make assumptions - typical but foolish mistake. You said "maybe" you care because you have seen how false beliefs harm others. Therefore, it stands to reason that maybe you don't care. So...which is it? In addition, no one said you have to accept anything. More foolish assumptions. Your comments are typical of someone who is putting up a smoke screen to hide behind. Are YOU trying to hide something?
TheSwatmachine 4 months ago
@TheSwatmachine Your comments are typical of a Christian pretending to hold a more objective standpoint. I made the assumption based on your ridiculous remark about how we'll see how things work out for me in the end. Christians are typically the ones to say such a thing, not non-Christians who don't accept their judgment day fairytale. I said "maybe" because there are many reasons I care, of which I've just given one. You are quick to make assumptions of your own.
TaylorX04 4 months ago
(cont'd) And let me ask you: why are you so concerned with the idea that I might be hiding something? What is it you think I'm hiding anyway? That I secretly don't care? You seem to be making far more presumptions than you're warranted in, by insinuating that I have ulterior motives. There is no smoke screen here, but it sure seems that you're trying to project one onto me.
TaylorX04 4 months ago
@TaylorX04 Again, I am NOT a Christian. I have made no assumptions, just asking questions. I believe in no fairy tale. It appears your philosophy of life makes you quick to make decisions about what others believe. You have no idea what I believe. One thing I do know is that you don't have enough common decency to take a man at his word. I tell you I am not a Christian, but you still somehow believe you have the privilege to refute that and say that I am. And YOU an EDUCATOR? How very funny!
TheSwatmachine 4 months ago
@TheSwatmachine In my last comment, I said nothing about believing you're a Christian, I only explained why I made that assumption. If you say you're not a Christian, I'll take you at your word, unless you make it pretty clear that you're being dishonest. But why haven't you answered my questions about your concern with me "hiding" something? You wouldn't be trying to turn the attention away from your own blatant projections, would you?
TaylorX04 4 months ago

Sorry, guys.
joseluispcr 4 months ago
@joseluispcr There's no reason to believe Jesus did any of that, even if he did exist.

I appreciate your honesty with regards to your not "flat out denying", and the religious parallels, etc.
Logically, a Christian should defer to the Book he holds true for the answers.
Joh 1:31 And I knew him not: but that He should be made MANIFEST TO ISRAEL, therefore am I come baptizing with water.
Cp Matt 2:6 & John 14:22
Show me any text in the Bible that says He was "manifest to the world", or that "the world knew" Him in any manner.

Wow, there is so much ignornance and confusion in this video, along with completetly incorrect Philosophy that i don't even know where to start..... One question to anybody; Did Christopher colombus really exist? how do we know? did the Mayans or Egyptians really exist? how do we know?
Samson4G 8 months ago
@Samson4G That's funny that there's incorrect Philosophy in it, because there's not really any Philosophy at all. I discuss a philosopher or two, but it's well known that some people think Socrates didn't exist, for example. So what's this incorrect Philosophy? Also, comparing Socrates and Confucius to Christopher Columbus, the Mayans, and the Egyptians - whom we all have reliable evidence for - is nonsense. Your misspelling of ignorance is very appropriate.
TaylorX04 8 months ago 5
@TaylorX04 There is also evidence for Christ Himself...Shroud of Turing, the Miracles of the Holy Eucharist, the even that occured on October 13th 1917 in Fatima, DNA examination of the Shroud of turin, ... and on and on...study only one of these; the even on October 13 of 1917 in Fatima ....then get back to me... : )
Samson4G 8 months ago
@Samson4G The Shroud of Turin is a joke. Even if DNA could prove the shroud contained the body of a first century man in Judea, that wouldn't mean the man was Jesus. It's not like we have Jesus' DNA on file and can look it up to compare. Even the gospels claim that he was crucified alongside two other men, so by sheer chances, there's still a lot of possibilities for the shroud being someone other than Jesus. Fatima was a case of mass delusion. Nothing that special.
TaylorX04 8 months ago 6
@TaylorX04 thats interesting if you compare the DNA found in countless miraculous bleeding Hosts (the Holy Eucharist) and its the SAME blood type they found of the shroud (AB Possitive) AND they have discovered that this blood only has 23 chromosomes, only from a mother's ..... in conclusion, if Jesus Christ was born only of the Virgin Mary, and of NO man, but the Holy Spirit.. than that would explain why only 23 female chromosomes are found on this blood....i have more ref if you'd like em'
Samson4G 8 months ago
@Samson4G I won't get into the finer details but when sent to SUNY the "blood" was essentially useless as the DNA was horribly fragmented and no blood type could be found, it is still debatable whether or not it was even blood. As far as the "miracles" I wonder why there are pictures of the people but not the event itself. Beyond that a bunch of religious children in the sun sparking the imagination of a bunch of other poorly educated and religious individuals looking at the sun isn't evidence.

grozde 8 months ago
@Samson4G We don't question Columbus or the Mayans or the Egyptians because we have more than just ONE book as evidence they existed. We have volumes upon volumes of books, and even physical evidence of their existence. However, with Jesus, we have only hand written texts and no physical evidence. The only physical evidence is a shroud that may or may not be his for physical evidence.
HimesInu 8 months ago
@HimesInu wow, what about all of the First Fathers of the Church? there is COUNTLESS written books on Jesus Christ, Irenaus, Ignatious, Clement of Alexandria, Hilary of Arles....the list goes ON and ON and ON.....the Bible is the Word of God in the Language of man kind....there will never be a most sold book of all time like the Holy bible, it never goes out of age, because its for every age, it never needs an "update" or "fix" like all other literature....

Samson4G 8 months ago
@Samson4G Alright. But when it comes down to it, a murder will always have evidence more than just witness testimony. I say we have no evidence because when we take away all of the "witness" testimonies, we're down to a few ruins and a shroud that could have the face of any first century man.
HimesInu 8 months ago
@HimesInu There are plenty of Crusafixes that were used in the Roman times/times of Christ, and the Vatican HAS Jesus Christ's Cross, Crown of Thorns, Nails that were used on him, AND the robe that clothed him after they brought him down from the cross, ALONG with soldiers who excecuted this event, St. Longinus, the one who thrusted the Spear(that the Vatican also has) on His side, is a first hand witness. and the shroud, i have links to videos that prove its authenticity. know the Truth...
Samson4G 8 months ago
@Samson4G No, the Vatican has a cross that they claim to be that which Jesus was crucified on. They have a crown of thorns that may have been worn by Jesus. We have first century nails that were used on somebody. They have a robe that was worn by a first century man who was crucified. We have a document that says they crucified someone. The spear, by all official records, is lost. The shroud was used to cover a first century man who could have been anyone.
HimesInu 8 months ago

@Samson4G You want to know what all your claims are based on? Faith that an institution, who has everything to gain if these are real, and everything to lose if they are fake, wouldn't lie to the masses. Guess what? Institutions like the church have lied for centuries to gain power. If lying will make them more powerful, they will, right or wrong.
HimesInu 8 months ago
@HimesInu you wished to see physical evidence, I proposed the videos to you, im sure you use videos as reference to your "way of learning" too. The CHURCH has NEVER lied, its the individuals that are responsible for being iresponsible of knowing the Truth. Christ too had a betrayer within his own, and he KNEW that individual was a sinner, liked us, but He still gave him an oportunity, as he still does to the rest of US, you included. prepare yourself. for you will see God's wonders and Glory.
Samson4G 8 months ago
@Samson4G Oh, please stop there. "The Church has never lied"? Alright, I'll give you the church, since churches are just building. But the people that make up the hierarchy have. Maybe not in the beginning, but as soon as Christians came into power, they have been spreading lies about other religions. About other peoples. Why not lie about certain objects so they gain further power? And the only wonders I see are the wonders the universe and man have created.
HimesInu 8 months ago

HimesInu 8 months ago
@HimesInu Maybe you should have studied your Faith first, but obviously your inerest was not to find Truth in Faith, but FALSE accusations against the Church is what you found to be more delicious. just like the snake in the Garden of Eden, offered the delicious fruit of "Knowing" to eve and adam, and they fell for the desception. So you won't follow a Church with corruption, but you're ok with a corrupted nation, that kills their own people to justify a war that has nothing to do with us?
Samson4G 7 months ago
@Samson4G I did. And I also saw in the Bible itself things that I wasn't alright with. Rape victims having to marry the rapist. Soldiers taking girls for their own. Stoning kids for misbehaving. Killing a person for being accused of being a witch. As for the fruit, God was scared Adam and Eve would learn that they didn't need "Him" to live. And if you are saying that 9/11 was an inside job, you're insane. All the so called evidence for that is a pile of shit.

@Samson4G I could be wrong in my choice of religion, but so could you. Why are you so afraid of the Christian God not being real? Is that really such a scary thought? Could you not have morals or self-control without the threat of eternal damnation or the promise of eternity in Heaven?
HimesInu 8 months ago
@HimesInu u don't understand, if religion was a falicy, and did not help mankind, humans would act like animals with each other (which is what is happening now) the Church was made to help man have a greatly filled abundant joyfull life. What you believe will determine how you will behave, so if you don't believe in God, u have no true sence of liability.
Samson4G 7 months ago
@Samson4G Actually, if religion didn't exist, we wouldn't have had the Crusades. We wouldn't have had the Dark Ages, we wouldn't have had the Burning Times. Hitler may never have committed his atrocities during WW2. We wouldn't have been in the war we've been in the last decade. People act like animals because they disagree with each other. The majority of the disagreement is over religion. Oh yeah, um, you follow a religion that states someone died for your sins. Where's your liability?

@Samson4G The Crusades was a time period of 100 years where the Church invaded the Middle East, attempted to, specifically Jerusalem. In the name of "God," the Christians killed thousands of Muslims.

I agree!
People sell their faith so cheaply.

Jesus was historically proven, we were even taught at our school of the punishment he received by the romans. The question true atheists should consider is "was Jesus really the son of God?"
BeakyRed 11 months ago

WorthDieing4 1 year ago

WorthDieing4 1 year ago
@WorthDieing4 Yes, Jesus established thoughtcrime, which has been very convenient for controlling the masses throughout history. You can keep making assertions all you like, but without any evidence on your side, they're nothing but empty assertions, which is all that faith is.

@WorthDieing4 Well, if there is hope because you just have to repent and find to Jesus than the answer is pretty easy: Let´s have a life of fun, do whatever you want to do and when it gets close to the end: Find Jesus and repent! Because you never know, right?
Visualiser33 1 year ago
@Visualiser33 That was probably what millions and millions of people thought and then died suddenly. Haiti, the sunami, hurricanes, car crashes, 150,000 people die a day. Your taking an eternal gamble on a temporal feeling. We are fragile humans, we came from dust, and our bodys will go back to it. At the resurection you will be given a body that will never die, you will live in the presence of a Holy God, or in eternal punishment Hell, Gods jail cell for rebelious angles and humans.

@WorthDieing4 Did I ask you to preach? Well, then I am sorry. But you said: If you find your way to Jesus and repent, he will forgive you, right?

@WorthDieing4 Come on, explain it to me, will I go to heaven if I turn to Jesus and repent my sins?
Visualiser33 1 year ago
@WorthDieing4 Let's suppose I don`t die in a car accident, I get old, but I feel the end is near (not everybody dies in car accidents or natural disasters), and I decide - after my life full of fun and sins - I repent and turn to Jesus.

@Visualiser33 Yes if you are sorry for your sin and repent and turn to Jesus, if you get that oppertunity, Yes you have Gods promise, you will be forgiven. " Today is the day of Salvation"
WorthDieing4 1 year ago
@WorthDieing4 Sorry, your comment was marked as spam. So I can murder, rape, maybe abuse some children a little bit, and one day, no matter when, I just have to say ( and meaning it) :"Sorry, I repent my sins, here I am, you are my saviour." And Jesus (God) will forgive me. So a lot of people suffered because of me, but Jesus (God) just says: You repent, welcome to my Kingdom." Can you tell me where you see any moral in this act of forgiveness?
Visualiser33 1 year ago
@Visualiser33 Why does a judge punish? To detour the criminal and others from doing crime. If God knows you have stoped doing the crime and are not giong to do it agian in the future it is just for Him to pardon. As long as the "penalty is paid" that what Jesus did. I just went to a retirement home to preach the gospel, I thought these people would repent if they had not know the Lord. To my shock and suprise they were very uninthusiastiac about the message. Today is the Day of Salvation!
WorthDieing4 1 year ago
@WorthDieing4 It is pretty unpolite to answer a question with a question. Let me repeat my question again. Can you tell me where you see any moral in this act of forgiveness? Jesus died for our sins, so that everybody can kill, rape, abuse and so on, and when he repents: Welcome to heaven. You really believe it is a moral act to take away the responsability for someones actions?
Visualiser33 1 year ago
@WorthDieing4 - Great, the mob boss deity ... That's a wonderful moral belief you have for yourself . .. Can you make a decision to believe something ? I can't ... So, if you can't see the illogical flaw in Pascal's Wager, you're beyond any true redemption.
MaitreyaRocket 1 year ago
@WorthDieing4 You said, ",,,,,Jesus said if you hate, you are a murderer at heart." But, Jesus also COMMANDED his followers to hate! Luke 14:26. Therefore, Jesus is a murderer at heart and so are all his followers! Each and every time a Christian speaks, his words are contradicted and condemned by the very book they claim is irrefutable. They follow this with some apologist's quote, or reinterpret its original meaning to create a circular argument that "justifies" its illogical conclusion.
politicoochie09 1 year ago
@politicoochie09 ....He was speaking in hyperbole, the point he made is that you must love Him above all else. This lines up perfectly with the old testament, 1st Comandment: You shall have no other gods before me. If you love anything more than God you make a god out of what it is that you love more and that is Idolitry. No contradicion just another excuse for you to justify your sin and blaspheme God. I hope you repent.
WorthDieing4 1 year ago
@WorthDieing4 You prove my point about how Christians reinterpret what was said to avoid an obvious mistake in the Bible. There is NO reason for Jesus to speak in hyperbole, especially if he KNOWS that people will take what he says literally. That's just cruel. But then, that's the nature of the beast (Jesus). If Jesus and Yahweh are the same, it makes sense because the god of the Old Testament is a cruel, human-hating, narcissistic psychopath. I hope you repent from your delusion.
politicoochie09 1 year ago
@politicoochie09 The context of what He was saying was that you must love Him above all else. Anything you put before God is called an Idol, and all Idoliters will go to hell fire. 1st Comandment you shall have no other gods before Me. So you see there is no contradiction here. I hope you repent. Unbelievers will go to hell fire for eternity.

So if I do good and still don't accept him, I'm going to hell?
JonathanTheAlchemist 1 year ago
@JonathanTheAlchemist Your good deeds will not wash away your crime. You cannot bribe God. That is why Jesus is necessary. He shed perfect sinless blood to pay your penalty for your crime. He is the ONLY one who could fufill the 10 commandments, never breaking any of them. You need His blood to wash away your sins, otherwise you will be accountable for your crime. No pardon without Jesus as your represenative. That is why He is the only way to be right with God.
WorthDieing4 1 year ago
@WorthDieing4
JonathanTheAlchemist 1 year ago
@JonathanTheAlchemist Romans 1 18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

Wait, am I wrong? Is it about living your entire life afraid you're going to die and go to hell?
PistolOfShame 9 months ago
The 12 disciples jesus teached to would have ignore jesus if He was not the true messiah. Even if Jesus wasnt the true savior when He was crucified. Every follower became afraid of jews. But if jesus never raised from dead how did the 12 disciples spread the word out of love for the return of the savior
spryrambro 1 year ago
@spryrambro You're about to be in for a shock, because *gasp* I don't think there were 12 disciples. But more importantly, we don't have any written testimony from them. Even Catholic scholars, well respected ones like John Spong and Raymond Brown, have known for decades that the gospels are not the product of the so-called disciples. You really ought to look up the two-source hypothesis and other staples of biblical study. In short, you don't know that the 12 ever did spread the word.
TaylorX04 1 year ago
@TaylorX04 if i am wrong why has my faith fled like flood around the world. If jesus didnt exist why would his disciples spread out and spread the news. If Jesus never existed how did one man who says He is jesus actually change the lives of millions and started the catholic church and raise from the dead to put hope into te heart of his didciples
spryrambro 1 year ago
@spryrambro Like I said: gullible. The spread of your faith doesn't have anything to do with its truth, anymore than the spread of cancer can be called good. Catholicism spread itself by the sword, this has been well documented, it's no miracle.
Actually, I now think Jesus did exist, but not the fairytale person in the bible. "Changing lives" is pure subjective speculation, as is raising the dead. Where is your evidence for these? Hearsay is not evidence.

Foxcanine1 1 year ago
Wow wow wow, you guys serious. Oh man. You guys are sad. We have written evidence of jesus crucifiction. We have eye witness written down, witness from the moving rock when jesus arose from the tomb. Written evdence of 3000 new catholics that day which is written by st. Peter as the new pope of the catholic church
spryrambro 1 year ago
@spryrambro You are unbelievably gullible if you take all of that as "evidence". The gospels are all anonymous, only given their names by the 3rd century at the earliest (two of them aren't even alleged eyewitnesses). None of them date any earlier than 70 AD, 40 years after Jesus supposedly died. We don't have anything remotely like a moving rock, since we still haven't even found the TOMB of Jesus. The rest of your comment is Catholic bullshit propaganda you've been fed.

MegaGayjesus 1 year ago
@MegaGayjesus, The Josephus passage in no way proves Jesus` existence. He lived after Jesus allegedly lived.
beholdtheageofold 1 year ago
@beholdtheageofold Yes Josephus was born after the alleged Jesus. However, I am not refering to the famous passage which was probably forged by Bishop Eusebius, but this one by Josephus. "These things happened to the Jews in requital for James the Rightious, who was a brother of Jesus known as Christ, for though he was the most rightious of men, the Jews put him to death." It is difficult to see this as a later Christian forgery?
MegaGayjesus 1 year ago
@MegaGayjesus Who ever said that I don't think that Josephus works weren't forged for you to ask " Is this difficult to see this as a later Christian forgery? It doesn't matter if it was forged. Josephus lived after Jesus. Why didn't Jesus Christ write his own account prior to his death?
beholdtheageofold 1 year ago
@MegaGayjesus Christ means anointed. Priests are anointed. And guess what? There was a priest who became high priest by the name of Jesus in the trial Josephus is referring to. An anointed Jesus. What are the odds, right?
