I think it's crap that people think players take it easy in pre season games. There are players that are fighting for spots on the roster, do you think they're holding back?
The hit was clean, it wasn't a penalty. If you have a problem it's with the rules not with the player.

Yes, its a clean hit. Yes, he should have had his head-up crossing center. That is absolute suicide if you dont. BUT what makes this so wrong is that it is a pre-season game. Hit the guy, but dont lay him out. I mean Phaneuf jumped! People say Scott Stevens does the same thing. Difference is, Stevens does it in the Stanley Cup Final. Phaneuf is head-hunting in the pre-season. That, and he wont even fight Morency after. Okposo's their best scorer. At least have the honor to fight.

Are you watching the video in reverse? if you pause the video at the point of contact, both feet are on the ground. Also, this would have been an entirely forgettable play had okposo not been knocked of balance moments before the hit, which was inevitable. in my opinion, it looks like phaneuf is trying to avoid the hit at the last second by turning slightly and standing up right. btw, i'm british, so nuetral in this stupid usa/canada argument
