Pandas eat bamboo. I know that there is a panda named Ling Ling because he was either at the Woodland Park zoo or on television. The only thing that could be potentially viewed as racist is the accent but I did not take it as racist because the accents did not sound fake and many pandas are indeed from China. The whole "escaped from the zoo" part is more of an animal thing (and is common in American cartoons staring animals) than anything else.
